You often say you use your small Bic lighter to light stoves, etc. It can do that. I often end up with the hair scorched off my knuckles. I found a telescoping straw that collapses down to 8.5 cm. Fully extends to 23 cm. Put a wick dipped in candle wax inside, and you can light any stove without trouble.
I’ve enjoyed your videos for about a year now, but I’m beginning to have a dilemma, which is that I might want some of the new items, but can’t justify it since the ones I already have are so similar, like the Swiss Army knife. It’s not quite as good in several respects, but I already have it and it is lighter. I have a similar backpack to the one presented, although it’s not quite as good. Wallet, notebooks, etc. I’m very fortunate to have the things I have, and don’t really need more or better ones. It’s the crux of our consumer culture problem. I enjoy learning about new products, and may even desire them, but it’s not necessary to get them, most of the time. I guess I’ll just enjoy your accent and humor.
Awesome list. I personally love the RE:FORM Card Holder. All I need, nothing that I don't and built extremely well. I've been carrying the wallet daily for about 6 months. It's been tossed in bags and went through some heavy rain with me and still holding up very well. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality and design.
I have owned and used Lochby products since they were originally named Bond Travel Gear and I am delighted with their product line. Thank you for another great gear haul video👍. I will be closely looking into purchasing the Fendent Anti-theft Backpack...it L 👀ks Great! Kudos from NYC🗽.
Hey Jonathan. Thanks for recommending the Nitecore NU25 for a headtorch for camping, it's been just the job. I'm looking to get a cyclist a good head torch as a Christmas present, is there any particular model that would be especially suitable for winter bike rides and commutes through a city in Scotland? Or if you have any other suggestions for a Christmas present for a keen cyclist please lmk! Cheers.
The Ruike looks like a Boker Techtool clone. Not sure if you can still get them but they came in a variety of different options and were fantastically robust.
I have a Boker tech tool. It is awesome except it was a silly idea to stick a flathead screwdriver on the end of a seatbelt cutter that doesn’t fully open - I was using it on a stubborn screw - applied some pressure and the blade closed on my finger - well I can certainly tell you the blade is sharp! Took weeks to heal properly.
Mr. J. Harbor Freight Icon brand is coming out with a D2 ceramic ball bearing flipper that is attracting a lot of attention from the EDC community. Also Walmart has an AUS-8 flipper that people love so far. Just wanting to help in any way I can sir. Cheers.
I have a Bond tool roll which is virtually identical in design. And appears to suffer from the same fundamental design problem, namely insufficient extra material at the folds to allow it to easily fold or roll once you have anything significant inside it. One Multitool and a couple of bulky wires, much less a power bank and it becomes unusable. In fairness you can put in a Swiss army knife and a few pens and it works OK, but it's a lot of bulk and weight to just be a flash way of carrying that. The Journal cover looks cool though... Edit. LOL. 😂 Just googled and found that BOND rebranded to LOCHBY in September 2019. Which would explain why this tool roll is identical but a different material. So in short I would say that it has the same shortcoming.
Hi Jon Beware of the seatbelt cutter, I opened my finger using the screw driver tip on it! It slammed shut due the the angle of the blade! Not the safest design, i gave mine awy pretty soon after!
The Ruike knives look good, as they unscrew I suppose one could build what you want, I never need a bottle opener after some boozy Bosnians showed me how to open a beer with the edge of a table.
Great haul! I was just wondering if the laptop sleeve on the Fendent Backpack is suspended from the bottom of the bag. If the bag gets put on the floor with a little bit too much force, is the laptop protected in any way? Thanks for the videos. I always look forward to new content!
I like the torch until you mentioned the price. Might get one at some point. As for card holders, have you ever tried the code 118 pop up card holder? I love mine.
Hi there I have a Ace Beam 50 iii gen, I haven’t used fro a long time and now it doesn’t turn on, I don’t know if I need to change the battery and if can you please guid me which battery to buy. Thanks
Don't like the wuben light at all got one of the rovyvons you recommended Plus my olight h1r nova.. Like the knife proof backpack , impressive .. The hover pen is clearly aimed at the sad muppet market ... I don't like the robot ...FFS... I like the Lochby Tool roll and pouch but not the non weatherproof writing pads. No wallets can compare to my tasmanian tiger edc wallet.... I like the m42 ...a lot . But no can opener is shit . Another superb video jon Thanks .
Hi Jon, would the wuben fit onto bike handles, with the magnetic strip ? I’m just looking for a put on take off bike light for night riding .. great video.
Just get a proper bike light. They’re designed to emit the right light shape and last long enough for many journeys. These days they come with rubber mounts that wrap round the bar in seconds. I got one for about 30 quid That magnetic one could easily fall off whilst riding and could be more dangerous messing about with that instead of riding if it slips round etc.
Gonna be a bit of a fountain pen snob here for a bit. Schmidt only provides nibs for purchase and there can be bad batches. The quality of the *actual* nib on the pen itself depends on if the company purchasing it for use *did* QC passes on it. Montblanc specifically suffers from pretty shit QC(atleast relative for the price they're asking for their products) but apparently has 'amazing' customer support. If you hang around the fountain pen community long enough, there's no shortage of horror stories involving Montblanc pens not writing out of the box from a variety of issues because most of their customer base got the pen as a graduation gift/whatever and not use it so they don't run into any issues, ever. Schmidt nibs are seen as overused/generic but it's a step up above the Iridium(not actual Iridium) Point nibs you'd see on super cheap and shite fountain pens.
So many great features on the Wuben and then they omit the best charging option-a usb cable. And with a 1000mAh battery why is the 1 lumen run time only 50 hours? That’s woeful. The in-body blue light is also ridiculous, who on earth thinks up these stupid ideas? I quite like the M42 and the tweezers are really impressive against the feeble SAK version. Shame about the corkscrew, a phillips screwdriver would be much more useful. The Lockby stuff is great quality for a modest price.
You can’t even have a locking folding knife in the UK and you’re talking about a firearm. That’s like me saying if I ran you over with my truck you’d be dead….no shit Sherlock 🫡🤣
I just noticed the Lochby design from the thumbnail, one of my favorite companies.
Lochby are great 👍
@Hungrybird474 absolutely! Jon is the man!
Not sure if the 15% discount is working. Showing as £49 for the field journal. Also doesn't give the UK as one of the shipping options🤔
Thanks for the feature Jon!
Always unusual items which make a great discovery ! Always nice to watch !
Glad you enjoyed it
A lot of thought went into that flashlight/torch! Love the swivel feature.
Always a pleasure to watch! That torch is very tempting, I have had a torch obsession since I could switch one on.
Thanks!
Thank you Jeffrey, much appreciated.
The Lochby Venture Pouch would make a great puppet!
Thank goodness someone else out there is as daft as me, that’s exactly what I thought. Needs googly eyes though 🤔😂👍🏻
@@Crustycon23 Definitely!

I just got back from Iceland and your recommendations helped out a lot!
Thanks for another great one, Jon
Really good job sir. Great products, and I just love your presentation. Brilliant.
Thank you 👍

I'm definitely getting that Gravastar robot charger.
Good to hear 👍
So excited to see our power guy Alpha65 in your EDC collection! Thanks Jon!
You’re welcome. Great product 👍
Nice job on listing the price for the list. It’s real important to show the prices on your list. Big thumbs up!!

I bought the tool roll a good few years ago when the company was called Bond travel Gear.. still use it and it’s still in mint condition.
Great to hear 👍
top job as always Jon
keep up the good work
That Luminox you have on is just gorgeous. I can't wait to buy one eventually!
It’s a good one 👍
Great video. I'd love to see a video focusing on how you might load up the Lochby tool roll for different EDC purposes.
Working on that 👍
Great Video, Jon and an excellent selection.
A really nice selection. The Lochby gear was nice, and at a really decent price too.
I can't praise Lochby enough. Their products are absolutely amazing!
Good video as usual. None of the gear really caught my eye this time. Probably best for the budget 😂
I always look forward to you posting a new video Mr. Gadget ❤🔦🖋📈🛠🧲🧰⛓❤
Thanks Sarah 👍
YAY within the first 5 messages. Thanks Jon for your videos!
always great content Jon really like that multitool

Ohhhh Amazon UK have 30% voucher off all colours of the Gravastar charger making it less than £40 for the white one
i love the pop up owl, for those who dont know what an owl is

I think Boker use Ruike factory.

You can also charge the X3 on the go if you have a phone with wireless Battery Share, like the Pixel.
Good suggestion 👍

Jon I'm almost terrified to look at your videos. I spent a small fortune on rovyvons sale last time.
Damn, I was all in on that light until I realized how wonky the charging situation was. If they make a usb c one I’m in

Hey John! For urban carry, you should review the Ruike LD31-B which is slimmer than the M42, and is comparable with an SAK Climber. Cheers.
Good shout Josh 👍 I’ll get hold of one
You rock sir!@@JonGadget
Hi Jon
Beware of the seatbelt cutter, I opened my finger using the screw driver tip on it!
It slammed shut due the the angle of the blade!

Great video Jon. The Ruike looks really interesting. Not quite a Victorinox killer though....
Close but not quite there with weight and bulk for me
You just burnt my eyes with flashlight tests 😂
The Ruike knives look good, as they unscrew I suppose one could build what you want, I never need a bottle opener after some boozy Bosnians showed me how to open a beer with the edge of a table.
how come the robot eyes aren't a portable led lamp? That would be awesome to carry around!
That serrated edge blade on the M42 looks like a finger shredder. 😲
The backpack has a "laptop pouch" or a pouch for hard or soft body armor.
Great haul! I was just wondering if the laptop sleeve on the Fendent Backpack is suspended from the bottom of the bag. If the bag gets put on the floor with a little bit too much force, is the laptop protected in any way? Thanks for the videos. I always look forward to new content!
Hi. No it’s not unfortunately. It basically, but cost reflects that. Thanks for feedback 👍
@@JonGadget Thank you. Great outer material, though!
No Aussie plug on the Gravastar ? Common !
I like the torch until you mentioned the price. Might get one at some point.

I have this wallet, it is great, extremely high quality.
I’ll check it out 👍
Any idea if there are any small tools that fit in the Ruike corkscrew as there are for Victorinox?
I don’t think there are unfortunately.
The 12C27 steel on the Ruike is better than Victorinox stainless steel, which is quite soft.
Lochby lineup peaks my interest the most, looks like a great take on classic organiser bags.
I still prefer Baribalpoland.Endless modifying options are addicting :P
The Lochby link in the description doesn't seem to provide the 15% discount - am I missing something?

That knife looks alot like the Boker Plus Tech Tool
Yes, same manufacturer - I think Ruike might be originator
@@JonGadget thanks Jon, it is a substantial knife for UK legal, I stick to the medium SAK.
Versus Christian Craighead's full EDC load-out of "a flashlight I can also use as weapon".
I came for the yellow item that looks like it’s from fallout or borderlands. Let’s see what it is.
Edit: nice charger ha.
what Arceteryx jacket are you wearing? thanks
Back pack vid I’m wearing Graphene X
I get "Shipping not available for selected address" and I'm not sure the Lochby 15% is working

Wallets always seem way overpriced for what a lot of them offer.
They are on the pricey side
@@JonGadget I do have an akeeni xsto that was expensive but I find it works really well for me, same with the trayvax 2.0

Just too expensive. Wave does pretty much the same for half the price. $120 is my max for a multi tool. Prefer $60-75.
