    The only justification you should ever need for what you carry is “am I proficient with it ?“

      @minutemancorner4434  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly. Whatever you have most rounds down range with and what feels best in your hands is going to be the best bet.

    I believe ALICE is the way to go. That what I used in the U.S. Army as a Infantryman from 1981-95.👍😏

    I just started to set up a FLC Vest. I have been running and gunning since the late 70s with the vietnam web gear.
    Waiting for my FLC Vest and all new pouches in the mail any day now.
    I will be able to use any of these pouches on a different chest rig + belt set up if the vest doesn't work out.
    At my age now the vest seemed the best at wait distribution.
    I did upgrade in the mid 80s to the same Bianchi pistal holster. You know your going to lose your gun in that one.
    Thanks for sharing ❤

    I thought I was a genius when I turned one of my triple mag pouches into an IFAK, looks like you thought about it way before me 😂 Love the setup up though, I’m going to use this for inspiration as I continue to build my own.

      Thanks! And don't worry I took the idea from another guy! Good luck on the rest of your build.

    I have a 1911 as well but since im proficient with my cz75b thats my carry piece and it fits the holster perfectly. I also have a 4 mag pouch for the ammo. I love this gear and ive decided to carry the camel back as well instead of the canteens however... ill keep the canteens in my pack for extra water. Nice set up.

    About the "smell" part
    I have a tip from my dad who served in the Croatian war for independence.
    "We could always smell when the chetniks had a change of men on the front because the wind carried their cologne through the woods"

    All the military surplus gear I had growing up it kills me knowing that I had all this cool s*** and knowing now that I would need it I wish I would have kept all of it I've been trying to build a Alice kit I have chest rings and all the battle rattle but I really want an old school kit

    • @minutemancorner4434
      @minutemancorner4434  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Right? I had a lot more when I was younger and you could find woodland or Alice everything for hella cheap. LBV88 + Belt kit is the way to go. Incorporates chest rig function for ammo and allows the belt to be heavily loaded up with mission essential gear.

    • @twinarrowssurvival.2.065
      @twinarrowssurvival.2.065 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@minutemancorner4434 yeah when I was growing up it was all woodland and OD green with Alice gear and you can find it everywhere for dirt cheap although I have scored a couple cool things in the last month or two I bought four pairs of woodland camouflage pants old school too for 3.00 a pair

    Random pouch it's a "alice radio pouch" also holds 40rnd pmags figure. Use it as a bandolier

  • @RavenRedwood
    @RavenRedwood 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Great tips at the end! Thanks. Here's a couple more:
    I'm picking up a NOS lbv88e tomorrow so I havent tried it yet but I'm going to try the trick where you soak the mag pouches in hot water and shove pmags in there and let it dry. I heard guys did the same to cram like 6 20rounders in the canteen pouch. I'll report back with results.
    I'll be replacing the harness with the british plce which I hear is the best. And while you could cut up a sleeping mat to use as belt padding, the british have a nice looking DPM hip pad that just velcros over the belt. I'm excited about that cause alice clips freaking suck when they create hot spots.
    Also if you're like me and don't want to tie 550 cord on every alice clip and just ziptie them instead, make sure you file them down after trimming them flush so they don't cut into any of your gear. 🤙

    • @torsten4757
      @torsten4757 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey RavenRedwood, my idea is that: don´t cut the zip tie flush, let just a little left to melt it down with a lighter or a soldering iron . So it´s additionally secured and smooth surface at the cut. I did it like that and it holds up fine.

    MacSogV would fill the canteen pouches with mags also. I know it's different application or type of fighting we may be engaged in. But if working from a theoretical fob it's a good option to be 300 plus rounds if that type of engagement is expected.
    My speed pouches are for competition shooting,the covered pouches are for real-life parties. I'm 43, and I've been shooting 1911 pistols since I was 8 and have used them in competition since I was 12 and started carrying one at 18. The Tupperware crowd ŵll be having convulsions that people are not carrying glock or calling us fudds or boomers.

    • @minutemancorner4434
      @minutemancorner4434  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fire superiority is key! I have a glock and love it but those glock fan boys don't understand that whatever you use the most is the best weapon of choice.

    Great setup man i like the old lbe stuff as well i got a modern take on them. On thing i will say tho even tho yes the knife looks cool there it is a horrible place to put a knife. Cause if you get in to hand to hand combat that knife is right by your throat

  • @BaconstheName

    You need to square the medical away better. The stuff in your ifak pouch is sustainment stuff and the stuff you have in your mag pouch is plug holes medical. Its fine that you are aware but if you get hit having that stuff in incorrectly marked pouches could be life and death. If I ran up to you with a gunshot wound I would assume the pouch on your rear is your medical kit. IMO

    • @minutemancorner4434
      @minutemancorner4434  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! I’ll get that squared away and get my medical stuff better arranged and marked properly

    • @RavenRedwood
      @RavenRedwood 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I would keep trauma stuff on your back pouch. It's contingency, right, hopefully something you're not going to use whereas the stuff up front should be what you are definitely going to use. Also if you get hit, say by shrapnel, it's more likely to be in the front, so you also don't want your essential medical in a place where it would probably take a bullet.
      And personally, met-tc of course, I can never have too many mags. I got the lbv88 so that I could run 12 and use the belt pouches to refill the chest pouches, or maybe after training with them I'll get used to closing the little pouch clips. Doitriteak has a video of him reloading pretty darn quick with the alice pouches. I also have an sadf pattern 83 battle vest that holds 12 mags that I really like. Holds a ton of stuff very comfortably, but I'd prefer all green or m81 to the black/brown of that rig.

    give British PLCE webbing a shot. Genuine JayJays is the top of the line, as far as i can tell. Vastly superior to LBVs in most regards

    I think you can cary 7 mags in m-60 100 round belt pouches.
    Heck it's only wait. Bayberry attach them to your assault pack ?

    You need to focus on carrying more ammo. Way too much ouch pouch stuff. All that kit should be attached to your plate carrier anyways. Sidearm, pistol mag pouches, canteens, IFAK should go on a battle belt.

    As for the fast rig set ups of today I don't think k there as good.
    Plate carying rigs are or can be over loaded then with a full set up battle belt it's to much like clutter.
    A good web gear is the basic same set up with much better suport and comfort.
