As a former BMW mechanic, those things piss oil after 100k miles. Water pumps need replacing often & the entire cooling system should be replaced after 5 years &/or 100k miles. Also, monitor the AC system closely. Plastics & electronics in all cars become rattle & fail after 10 years. Be prepared to shell out a lot of $s, but enjoy it in between maintenance down time.
Great video. I would recommend that anyone who is replacing their TA's replace the fuel breather valve at the same time. The actual valve is $80 if you buy from Bosch (same part number as the $130 BMW part) and can be replaced in under five minutes since the plenum is already off for the TA service.

Good and informative video! Just wanted to say that since most people replace the con. rod bearings at higher mileage than you (e.g. 50-60k) it is good to replace the engine mounts at the same time. In the general case there is no additional labour and the original ones are pretty tired by then.

I couldn't justify a 8cylinder daily so I got the 335. Just figured recently out how easy they are to fish tail and I'm going nuts with the feeling of a sliding vehicle. They definitely have too much power in the back for their own good. Great looking car
DCT is the most engaging "automatic-ish" transmission I've ever driven. Since my M3 is my only car, it's nice to be able to have a more relaxing drive through daily commute traffic, but to be able to manually control what you're doing with your car on backroads at the push of a button is convenient. And can't forget the lightning upshifts and crisp downshifts.
Some more common problems are... 1x vacuum pump 2x oil filler cap leaking 3x coolant thermostat over cooling and you will never know unless you get live data whilst driving. 4x DCT pan leaks 5x Diff seal leak.

I thought it was interesting that you actually wanted a dual hump. I looked for a single hump because I think it makes the car age faster, but the updated I drive really helps it. The first version looks horrible. One of the cleanest most perfectly modified e92's out there!
@@wiizvrdd when I look at an older screen on the car, it makes the cars age much more apparent than if the car has no screens/infotainment. I guess a better way of saying it is that the screen reminds you of the cars age and technical obsolescence more so than without.

Great video! I think oil analysis is useful regardless of what type of bearing is in your car. Oil analysis can reveal existing or new emerging issues in your engine that aren't bearing related. Lots of good info in your video though!
When I saw it was a manual, you got a new subscriber. People who say the dct are better are the ones who end up selling their m3 cheap because the could afford the maintenance.
Your car is beautiful. Informative video Glad to see someone keeping up on all of the necessary maintenance. This generation M3 is my favorite. Just ordered a 2022 M340i. My first BMW.
Beautiful car dude. Ive always loved M3s and the E93 has been my favorite since they came out. I wouldn't trade my Raptor for one but id love to have one as a project car.
Nice M3 - apart from the way too long chin. I'm also an Audi and Porsche guy - don't normally look at BMW content - nice vid. Auto re-matching is actually really nice. I'm a die hard MT guy and have owned cars like S2000's and MG's and GTI's etc. Every car I've owned has been a manual.. I love doing my own rev matching... but recently I've bought a Porsche that has it and I can say it's actually a really nice feature. Perfect rev matches each time - even when braking lightly.
Considering either an e92 M3 or a C63s for my next car. Still contemplating but the M3 seems like the more well rounded choice, and with some mods it'll be a sound monster and very nimble, and it costs less.
Get the c63 AMG S. Have a 2018, and 2 2019. The technology and interior for me personally, wins the overall package compared to the m3. If you want something more fuel efficient (aka slower) get a CLA AMG version, the face lifted interior is even better.
@@trcs3079 Under NO circumstances would I ever consider a facelift model C63. They have OPFs, are quiet as shit, have fake interior engine sound and lots of technical bits I don't like or need. If I buy one it'll but pre facelift. Also don't want a CLA since I want a bigger engine and already own a mk7 GTI. I am also taking into account what mods I can do because legality is an issue here and I can't just run a 800hp straight pipe tune, and the C63 has no legal aftermarket downpipes at all, while for the M3 there's a full carbon intake and a valved exhaust with papers that'll sound awesome.
@@idokwatcher2062 That's the thing, not sure if it pays off to buy the well handling M3. Our speed limits are getting lower constantly and tuning is becoming more and more of a sin. C63 would be a better daily too.
@@drogenfeld funny how you disagreed with my comment but then had a partial agreement with the second LOL. in the end, maybe just keep the GTI, more budget friendly. Keeping up with this level of quality, you'll grow to 500k in under 5 years.
The amount of KNOWLEDGE in this video is amazing.
Addendum:
Throttle actuators come in pairs. When one fails, the other will follow. Expect to replace them for about $3000+ for the pair with labor.
I have a high mileage 2008 E92 M3 at 225,000+ miles. Here are some addition fixes that were required over the past several years.
Valve covers replacement - magnesium lining deteriorates over time. $2500 + gaskets.
O2 Sensors may go out - front and rear $2000
Driveshaft worn - $3000
Ground strap corroded - $200
SDARS Satellite radio - $3000
Front bearings - $2000
Accessory pulley (popped off while driving) $300
Side mirror motor malfunction - $600 to replace the entire mirror assembly. Installed DIY.
Trunk rear light malfunction - $130 per side (DIY)
Starter motor - $550 + 7 hours labor - it's buried in the heart of the engine.
Brake sensor failure.
Secondary engine blower (for warmup).
Downpipe leak.
from a bmw tech, valve covers, oil pans, tend to start to leak at 65-90k. it also depends on how you drive the vehicle.
Bro you prob have one of the best M3 in the Game and hella KNOWLEDGE on it too. Shout out to Mike too he's a great Mechanic!
We have a lot of great indy shops here on the East Coast, (North Carolina, Georgia and Florida) prices for service, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Prices are much lower than California for the issues you mention and are of the best quality. Some of us track our cars. We have a ton of enthusiast here for the brand, we have great meetups, clubs and monthly "cars and coffee" to share our experiences with our cars, modification, etc. You should road trip out to the East Coast, then you could have some first hand experience of the roads we drive and meet some of the crew. Great video, fantastic looking car. Keep up the great work.
My bro I gotta hand it to you for having one of the best looking e92 in the world no cap
Your videos legitimately made me inspired and I started working at a Popeyes now and planning on getting this car by the end of 2022 and I’m getting the 6mt for sure
On my one I wanna get it with red interior and bmw performance seats.
I basically wanna do everything you did but except I’m going to change the exterior color to ether blue or midnight purple v3 from r34
Again tysm for inspiring me to get out of my bed and get a job just to get this car thank you thank you.
P.S. I also wanna get the valvemaster’s fully straightpiped titanium exhaust with bbk.
Update: I’m now working at hertz soon will move on to bigger position and maybe by luck I can get the car by next July.
Bro nice you got this
@@captainsparklezx13 thank bro
Appreciate that 👍🏾
yo I love that chicken.
@@ricky_ricardo well don’t ever eat it bro it’s disgusting the way the chicken comes from the factory.
The store that I work at it has 5 star over 5000 reviews and you literally wouldn’t believe how disgusting that chicken is.
They fry the chicken with its hair and guts still attached to it. I did seasoning and that’s how I found out. But I move to cashier now because I couldn’t handle that fucking chicken.
Same with other fast foods that how they prepare it.
After working on serval fast food stores I finally stopped eating fast food and it’s been 1 year now.
@@IM_ACID Are you serious? WHAT
oil pan gasket , transimision gasket , fuel pump, nice ride love your set up !
I had the 2011 335 and it’s still the best drivers car I’ve drove. I still think about that car. Cars are much faster now, but that car’s steering was fantastic and the last of the BMW hydrolic steering
Not even shopping for an E92, Just love watching your content 👌🏾
This is such a great video! I just picked up a 2011 E92 with the competition package and couldn’t be happier with it.
We are a 328i E92 M Sport Package, sure you know. Leather Seats, M Sport suspension, DTC paddle Shifters, Ect. Anyway, ok it's a Stright Six, but in the 12 years we have had the car it's been reliable, and for all the haters, yes, reliable. It's for us the Ultimate driving machine. Cool car to drive. But all of us Bimmer fanatics respect each other no matter what BMW one might have. Happy cruising BMW Brother..!
Comp package really only gives you a CF roof. The lowering and zcp wheels are superfluous. This is coming from someone who has a CF roof on their E92, but didn’t want to pay an additional 5-10k to get an M3 comp. The retrofitted versions work extremely well
Carbon roof comes on the coupe not just comp pack. Also edc settings are different.
Even normal E92 M3 had the CF roof
Stripper model is the bomb, less weight, less ancient tech. Fantastic side skirts by the way.
9-12 years old is ancient lol
@@startingtech3900 When cars come to the market their tech is already outdated day 1, because the platform was in development for several years beforehand. Only today they talk about continous upgrades, like Tesla does, but that will end up like mobile carriers provide Android upgrades for a year or two then cut your loose.
@@idokwatcher2062 ah there we go the tesla fanboy. now it all makes sense. i agree with you man i know the tech is already a few years bc of R and D but 9-12 years old isnt ancient, and since you lease or finance your new cars you cant even technicaly call them yours the bank still owns them. for me and others to buy a car 9 or 10 years old in full still feels like a new car to me
Inspiring video, with great advice including financial commitment of ownership.
This is a super awesome video, I just recently turned 19 and i really want to get one of these, I don't really have money close to the price tag of one of these seeing as I wasn't blessed with the most wealthy parents but i've been working pretty hard and I'll continue to work my hardest and maybe i can get one for myself in 2 - 3 years😅 wish me luck👍
one of cleanest e92 I've ever soon
this is exactly how i would want to build one
wow, you got a new sub
Can't watch rn but had to come on and drop a like for that e92!
Good and informative video! Just wanted to say that since most people replace the con. rod bearings at higher mileage than you (e.g. 50-60k) it is good to replace the engine mounts at the same time. In the general case there is no additional labour and the original ones are pretty tired by then.
Finally got one and absolutely love it. My family practically had to drag me out of the garage because I couldn't stop looking at it. Wanna make mine look a lot like yours we have similar taste in mods
I couldn't justify a 8cylinder daily so I got the 335. Just figured recently out how easy they are to fish tail and I'm going nuts with the feeling of a sliding vehicle. They definitely have too much power in the back for their own good. Great looking car
@wind016bad alignment and linglong tyres can totally make them crap to drive though, might be why he feels that way. Or he’s a turd, who knows lol
auto rev match accusation is the greatest compliment ever
DCT is the most engaging "automatic-ish" transmission I've ever driven. Since my M3 is my only car, it's nice to be able to have a more relaxing drive through daily commute traffic, but to be able to manually control what you're doing with your car on backroads at the push of a button is convenient. And can't forget the lightning upshifts and crisp downshifts.
Some more common problems are...
1x vacuum pump
2x oil filler cap leaking
3x coolant thermostat over cooling and you will never know unless you get live data whilst driving.
4x DCT pan leaks
5x Diff seal leak.
Man, that’s the cleanest E9X M3 I’ve ever seen. Well done 👍🏼
Hi I changed mine at 129 mile ride bearings just court them I’ve got a miss on the engine and airbag lights crazy still love it and I’ve got an e46 m3 I’ve enjoyed your video keep up the good work
Single hump, is great, less things to break or go wrong. Cheaper to own..! Thanks
I bought an E34 530i around 15+ years ago which started my love for BMW's. I moved on to an E46 M3 which then reinforced my love for Brimmer's. Then the E60 M5 cemented my love. I sold the E46 to get the E60 and will be selling the E60 to get an E92 M3. Thank you for the video as it definitely helped push me from the fence into buying the last of the great N/A Bimmers.
E92 is literally my dream car. Love your content man! Thank you for posting!
I daily drive a 2006 130i with a Quaife LSD - and fully understand what you mean about enjoying the overall driving experience (and not just straight-line power). Have driven a 2012 E93 M3 like it owed me money too - wicked balance of power, handling and overall driving pleasure - and that cracking V8 sound... Thanks for a most informative video indeed. "Knowledge"
The amount of KNOWLEDGE is insane, great vid
I still have my E93 M3 for more than 3 years, and I still in love with this beast even though it doesn’t have that much hp but the driving experience is in another level, I paid a lot but f*ck it i love this car
Hi !
I’m searching for an E92 M3 to replace my 335i
Your video is very informative and packed with useful things
Thanks for that
Your M3 is gorgeous 👌🏻
One of my dream daily drivers is an E90 M3 so I’m sure this video will come in handy! 😂
Thanks for this video! 👍🏻
Perfect as always! 👌
Best M3 ever built in terms of engine capacity, sound🥺sweeettt😁and looks😍😍😍it has everything 👏👏👏
I thought it was interesting that you actually wanted a dual hump. I looked for a single hump because I think it makes the car age faster, but the updated I drive really helps it. The first version looks horrible. One of the cleanest most perfectly modified e92's out there!
Makes the car age faster?? 🧐
@@wiizvrdd when I look at an older screen on the car, it makes the cars age much more apparent than if the car has no screens/infotainment.
I guess a better way of saying it is that the screen reminds you of the cars age and technical obsolescence more so than without.
The advantage that the older and newer system can be retrofitted with an Android system and touchscreen
Knowledge.
All the way from South Africa...
Love your car, content and video. I also love the not too loud music. Thanks
Nice one mate! Very informative. A little suggestion, try puting in some cinematic of the car from different angles instead of standing and filming when talking.
Looks stunning esp in the opening. Best color, *likely best looking M3 I've ever seen.* I'd only lose that front spoiler, just shouts trouble, lol.
Was hoping for same color but had dozen other criteria before it, happy with my white, red interior stock, manny, comp rig, single owner no salt history, etc.
For ME sort of replacement for crotch rockets of my youth, *throttle response,* high revvs, race designed wonderful engine, steer feel, even brake feel.
I want to get this car once I have a license, so this is probably some good advice.
I had it for 6 years almost zero issues only a coolant leak which was a very simple fix for less than $150.
You gained a sub from how good you made this video. Look forward to watching ur other videos on the channel
I had a 2011(single hump) 328i (3.0 n/a inline 6).
Your car is beautiful. My favorite body style 3 series.
Awesome vid man. I have a 2011 c63 but I still love to hear about the bmw counterpart. Hope to own one of these some day.
What’s it like owning a w204?
@@kingjackoff6708 I use to own a 2009 C63. It was tuned to 540hp. It‘s amazing, fast and reliable also sounds great! I would grab one before they keep skyrocketing in price…
As others have said, this is a really useful, informative video. Thanks for taking the time man 🙏🏻
Much KNOWLEDGE in this video bro, interesting to watch. And I am hyped for more videos with your e92, its soo clean man
The video quality is superb. I would love to have an E92, great looking and sounding car.
I moved from an e92 330i 2010 to an f36 435i 2015 and this M3 was ‘the one that got away’ for me. I was really close to buying one but am starting a family and just couldn’t justify the trade offs (mileage, maintenance costs). Hopefully one day I can drive or own one because I’m now spending thousands trying add some life in my F36! I miss the handling of my e92 :(
Perfect video thank you! Been searching for an e92 M3 and was confused on all the different options. Life savior
Should also talk about the main bearings and rear wheels bearings. Also the magnesium valve covers flaking and getting aluminum covers
You’re videos keep making me want an E92 more and more. Hopefully this will be my next car!
No way i thought u was just a instagram guy, so nice to see you uploading on the youuutube ! Keep up the great content, ur one of the few that i love peeping ur progress.
I like that .. "Securing your financial future .. first" nice video
God dam man! Best e9x m3 info out there. You literally answered all my questions that I’ve had for years. Always got different answers but your explanation is unbeatable 👌🏼💯
Really nice looking M3 you have there mate. Clean, metallic and strong.
Hey man just wanted to say absolutely great video, your car is super clean… and as a future M3 owner I found your video very resourceful. You definitely dropped some KNOWLEDGE 😂
Appreciate you taking the time to drop so much “knowledge” on us.
Lol what!? 😂
Your car is beautiful. Informative video Glad to see someone keeping up on all of the necessary maintenance. This generation M3 is my favorite. Just ordered a 2022 M340i. My first BMW.
This was my dream car, still is
Got a W205 C43 by accident but i still want one of E92 M3
Beautiful car dude. Ive always loved M3s and the E93 has been my favorite since they came out. I wouldn't trade my Raptor for one but id love to have one as a project car.
man looks so good ..first seconds ii thought its was videogame ...i swear ....i love this color in ur bmw
Yes the “knowledge” is abundant
Gr8 Video, and NICE E92 M3 Working on my 08 Jerez E92 M3 as we type. ALL ur vids are very informative, Kudos and keep them coming..
You are a great youtuber man just got a sub, really impressed you went straight to the point and were honest… so hard to find these days.
You have a really beautiful car with a real engine.
If you want to go fast in a straight line buy the Mercedes boat.
And you're definitely right, my insurances for the c63 is pretty high. I would of gotten the 2014 or under c63 because its proper V8 but the warranty for the 2018 and 2019 made it a bit better. There's nothing technical about them, pretty easy going it you ask me
This has the best aesthetics imo. I didn't realize they were so relatively affordable. "Thanks", now I'm going down a rabbit hole. 😂
Really thinking about getting an e90x. Great video, and wheels and brake setup is amazing.
Those roller shots at the beginning and end of the video are beautiful, lots of knowledge. 😉
Great info! If prices get "reasonable", I may put the car back into consideration!
It's like you were talking to me about having money set aside if purchasing this type of car,bad thing is I already bought it 3 months ago and just sits in my driveway waiting for my next payday to fix "maintenance things". Worse when people come over and admire and give props about it, and know there's a huge oil puddle under it.But man it looks good.💔🥴
You got that thing looking fresh, brotha.
I kinda like this bmw its full of KNOWLEDGE.
Old video……but what about just selling me your car! Love the setup you have going 🔥
Hey man, just wanted to say this video was great. And your M3 is gorgeous. I'm guessing your work in general is broadly appreciated hahaha.
Nice video. Boyyy if you don’t get yo. East coast prices is 2400-2700 for rod bearings
Mechanical issues like these is how I learned how to work on cars and save me $$
knawledge af!!! absolutely love the detail and effort in this vid. much love bro
The Dinan system is a great system.
