Copy and paste method is old school, but love it. A little tip you may or may not know, if you press shift and adjust the start point, it zooms in on the waveform.
Excellent tutorial fam, and it boggles my mind how people said you couldn't chop on the Move. I'm here for the hacks and hidden features, because I'm loving it!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
@@lindasson thanks man, every time I see your videos, you look like you have a good grip on it already! The haters will always hate. They’re missing out on a great little sampler! 👍
What I love about drum racks / sampling on Move is that it eerily has the same specs of the old MPC’s. One filter per pad and up to 64 pads. A true spiritual successor.
I prefer this method much more. It provides you with the flexibility to still access the first chop, and if necessary, duplicate it to another pad and perform a custom slice if needed.
@@Scoober222 I’m aware of that, I’m not using it for the length I’m using it to quickly kill the sample from playing during the demo. We currently don’t have a kill all samples button like the MPC. If I don’t you’d have to listen to the full 4 bars every time I trigger the pad and it gets annoying when you’re explaining something. 👍
Yea i was looking for that kill all, thought someone said double tap the play button but that doesnt work either. The idea of this thing is cool but it does seem to be missing some very simple things.@nervouscooks
@@LiftedNoise yeah, my list so far is kill all, double tap play would be fine. A select all samples in a drum rack function so you can transpose (plus other parameters like attack etc) multiple samples at once. I think a long press (hold) of a track button would do it. Possibly sample playback modes, reverse etc. Scrolling names for long samples in the display. Other than that I’m pretty happy with it. I definitely think there’s a fine balance and if they add too much it will loose it’s easy workflow and need more shortcuts. What are you missing so far? 🙂
@nervouscooks I like those ideas as well. Found myself turning the volume up on my chops 1 by 1. I need more choke groups. I can't seem to figure out how to delete a sample from a pad. I press the X and a pad and it says no clip/note to delete...
@@LiftedNoise yeah more choke groups would be good! It’s soo weird but I don’t think you can delete a sample. I checked the manual and couldn’t find it. It seems like you can swap it out or record over it. 🤷♂️ 😂
@@1314Ruben a hack would be load the sample into the first step in the sequencer, make sure metronome is on and adjust the tempo as it plays until it matches. Not the most elegant solution 🙂
Could you potentially load a new project, place the sample on step one, go to a drum kit, play along to the sample and then use capture to detect the bpm of the drums you played?
How do I get my midi keyboard to play the wavetable synth … I’ve pressed shift and option 2 to make settings midi in …. But nothing is playing from my keyboard …. It should be armed right away if I have selected the wave table synth right?
@@squarelanguage I’m using my yamaha p255 which has a midi out via usb printer kinda cable … I’ve used my ableton push usb cable though from the keyboard to move … so maybe it’s that cable that’s the issue?
Sounds like a the usb cable. I had that issue with a few usb cables as well. Certain cables may not transmit properly. Also make sure your keyboard is set to midi channel 1 and also that it can transmit midi via the usb cable vs a midi cable. All issues I’ve run into.
@@squarelanguage I’ve just tried the Komplete m32 & this is also not working with midi in selected on Move ☹️ Maybe I have to register the software re ableton & move ? 🤓

@nervouscooks Facts!! Appreciate you my Brother, I'm searching for a Compression/Sidechain hack now lol
You can hold shift and the Decay knob becomes sample length, you don't just have to set the end of the sample with Hold FYI

Like Keith said below, hold shift and turn the decay knob - this will allow you to adjust sample length. No need to deal with hold for sample length

any know how to stretch sample in ableton move
Please make a video on using move as a midi-controller for koala etc
Can you talk about new update for koala sampler?
Is there any option to tap tempo? Or some way to detect the BPM of the samples?

It should work with the track selected, what midi keyboard controller are you using? I was able to use a keystep. Must be plugged into the USB A port
