There's something about the saxophone... I don't play, but I could listen to you for hours. The heart and soul of the music comes though this instrument. Thanks for your performances. People like me enjoy them! Covid lockdown in Australia - time to look around and find wonderful new things online. This is one of my discoveries! I forgot how much I loved the sax. I also love the cello. Can't play either, haha, but I don't need to!
Yes because the player makes it so! I have seen your videos with the vibratosax, and c sopranos, tenors, baris, altos. Any sax you pick up basically erupts magic ha! Your an inspiration to all of us. My soprano is coming along nicely! Getting prepared to post a video sample of its sound next week!
Awesome video! ......and of course another example of how a C-Mel goes great with a guitar-centric band. If you are playing a horn tuned to Eb or Bb, you'll be hitting sharps and flats all day trying to keep up with a slew if instruments tuned to Concert C. A C-Mel fits right in with a guitar band.
Hi, the numbers indicate the tip opening of the mouthpiece, i.e. the vertical distance between the reed and the tip or in other words the gap between mouthpiece and reed where it is the biggest. Some makers give you the number in 1/1000 inch (for example 120 or 95) others use a system of numbers like 5 or 7*. The wide open tips are harder to play but deliver more power and stable upper register (just a rough guide) and need some control. As a beginner you might want to use a #5 or 7.
Wellness Pur, Romantik Pur, and Klassik Pur. I've found them. Thanks. By the way, could you cover the Brazilian classics Triste, Desafinado and Wave on Aquilasax? If you haven't already done so that is:-)
That's some very nice playing, great playing, quite in tune, and the sound is fine and well picked up. I was going to buy a Chinese c sax, they say they were supplier to Aquila, maybe I'll jump on it, my Selmer 7 tenor is a bit heavy. They told me their c-melody weighs 2.5kg and my tenor should be about 3.4 kg. The tone is nice man! What mouthpiece do you use?
Thanks, but how about the lebayle studio chamber since that's the only one I can find online? Unless you can give me a link for the regular studio for alto.
All saxophones have the exact same fingering, the difference with this C-Mel is that you don't have to transpose the notes like you do with a Bb Tenor or Soprano. If the music calls for Concert C to be played, you'll be using your middle finger on the left hand or upper stack.
Michael Ausserbauer Sounnd's pretty good!, I have a question for you, I'm gonna introduce to this world of music, about sax, and I'm gonna buy the " Startone sas-75" wat do you thing?

True! And I still wonder why the C-Melody isn't used more often in this context.
You and I agree 💯% on that statement.
Hi, the # simply stands for "number". I would definitely recommend this mouthpiece.
There is also Dedications from the Michael Ausserbauer Quartett. Great tunes! Search his name on Wikipedia, there are many cd´s listet.

You'll find all of Fred Lebayle's mouthpieces at lebaylemouthpieces. He sells all his models with every possible tip opening online.

Hi, there are some recordings of me out on ITunes or Amazon. Just search for Ausserbauer there ;-)
Have you got any of this out on cd or itunes Michael?

Now I see, lebayle and synthetic reed, ok.
sounds just like a tenor!
No I mean the #6,#7,#8,#9 etc... is there any difference? And thanks.
what does the # mean in the mouthpiece name? im thinking about getting one would you recommend it?
is the same fingering a Bb sax?

What sax is that?
Hi, it's a C-Melody saxophone buildt by Aquilasax.
