i picked one up for Seattle. The 23mph let's me stay in the bike lanes (and the throttle actually lets you fine tune your speed). Every hill I can find has been tackled with zero issues. Really pleased with my little friend.
@garteaga482 Borked the fender and no replacement parts available. In retrospect, I may have also had regen braking set to 100 (use 75 now) making it perilous in winter. Got $900 refund and bought $600 replacement. If you live in Seattle buy one.

I was looking at Apollo City Pro and this Climber as well for West Coast Canada. How is the City Pro holding up to the rain for you? I’m on the island so also need good water resistance. Thanks.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Lightish weight, cheapish, water resistant, relatively maintenance-free drum brakes, simple design, average range and can get up the steep hills of the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. I wish we had a distributor here in Australia.

Great review. I totally agree with you on the fact that, electric scooters need dual motors. I live in a hilly area in the UK, and my Apollo Phantom is great. Beautiful natural light outside, in that review.
Really similar. Both easy to use and great waterproofing. Climber is better for acceleration, top speed and hills whereas the S1 has a larger deck and suspension 👍👍
@@RIDEGLIDE I was able to test both on a hill similar to where I live. S1 made it but struggled. Climber did it at 24kph. Wow! So I now own a Climber :).... Also, i felt more stable on the Climber. Suspension isn't that big a deal for me. I'm not taking it off road and bumps were not that bad - i can live with that. Range is less obviously, but i liken it to a car with a 40 litre tank vs a 60 litre tank. They both chew juice just one needs filling more often but it still costs the same per litre.... For me the zero start was also a big item, something i don't think the S1 has. But the acceleration on the Climber is also a safer thing imo.... Where i live i have so far not even needed to take the Climber into Sport mode for my hills, nor can i use that speed legally in the public space. So 25kkph is fine for me for most things... Only put 30 clicks on it so far. 20 of those in a single round trip and no complaints. My only gripe is Eco needs to be 12kph not 6. Else i am very pleased with it..... I have 33% battery left and calculate a real world range of a tad over 40km in my area. I am six two and 85kg for those who wonder about such things.
