    I've got the Solar P1 3.0 (1200Wx2, 52V) on the way, specifically for its hill climbing ability. This video helped me decide that dual motors is a must have for a 260lb guy who rides in a hilly area.

    Amazing the Etwow got up the hill be it only just but shame Apollo city single motor didn’t. I think the Etwow is so light u don’t have as much of its own weight added to the riders for it to move and the solid tyres as long as you avoid bumps mean less rolling resistance. This really needs a view from the uk transport secretary as this shows exactly the limitations of single motor and 500 watt limit for heavy riders and people in hilly areas. Uk needs to be allowing 1000 watt at least as an overall nominal rating in my view. Great video though guys!

      It’s great for general riding and really comfortable but unfortunately meets it’s match on steeper hills if you are on the heavier side 😬😀Also, it fits in with a lot of European road law and potentially the UK when the law is changed.

    I don't understand why inmotion put full suspension on the single motor S1 but made the dual motor Climber a rigid frame.
    The Climber is actually a pretty quick scooter that would have crushed this test, actually a shame. Hopefully they fix that with an updated model someday.

    Why would larger diameter wheels help with hill climbing?Seems it would hurt....provide the gearing of the motor is the same.

    • @RIDEGLIDE
      @RIDEGLIDE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure but all the larger wheeled scooters we have tested have coped really well on it. Possibly it could be down to the lumps and bumps on the surface as the lower powered smaller wheeled scooters get caught up in them whereas the larger wheels glide over them so keep constant traction?? 👍

    The ideal scooter in my opinion.
    Scooter Weight 45lbs/20 kilos or less
    Top speed 25mph/40km
    Climbs significant hills and maintaining at least 15mph/24km
    Range of 30miles/48km which would be real world 20miles/32km with combined flat and hills.
    Good/decent disc brakes

    • @RIDEGLIDE

      Yes they have different peak powers but also weight of scooter and design can have a big effect 👍

    • @BH4x0r
      @BH4x0r 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RIDEGLIDE yea forsure, but 2 motors getting 500W would get the same speed as a 1000W single motor unless the weight difference is very significant, i'm pretty sure that 1000W single motor thing gets quite a bit more juice, probly neighboring 1500 or 2000W
      besides i believe regulators shouldn't touch/make power rules, low power makes it useless for heavier people especially if there are alot of hills or whatever in their area, and even then, even for lighter people it is an issue
      i could get that they don't want people to accelerate beyond stupidity but true acceleration speed could be done by just firmware keeping track how fast it accelerates
      like what does it matter if someone rides with a limit of 15mph but they have 2000 or 5000W for example? nothin
      if they want to limit the acceleration they could just demand minimum 0-15 of 3S for example, that is easy to be done via the controllers' firmware and could even be 10kW, it helps unbelievably much uphill
      it's like they want people to just stick to gas mopeds and nerf all untaxed vehicles

    • @RIDEGLIDE
      @RIDEGLIDE  ปีที่แล้ว

      Such a tough one. Most single motors in the lower power range are front motor driven. Our personal preference is rear as sometimes the front hits bumps and can lose a bit of traction but is really minor! Other than that, there isn't a huge difference in performance 👍

      Thanks for watching!! Depends on the terrain you are riding but for the hills you are going to need a bigger scooter with decent power. We always recommend the Nami models as we think they are really high performance and quality but other brands would be ok as well. Think about battery range as being a heavier guy, it will drain faster. We have got an e-scooter buyer guide video which is pretty helpful as well that may be worth checking out!
