Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Transmission, third World War, third round
A decade of the weapon of sound above ground
No shelter if you're looking for shade
I lick shots at the brutal charade
As the polls close like a casket
On truth devoured, silent play on the shadow of power
A spectacle, monopolized
The camera's eyes on choice disguised
Was it cast for the mass who burn and toil?
Or for the vultures who thirst for blood and oil?
Yes a spectacle, monopolized
They hold the reins, stole your eyes
All the Fistagons, the bullets and bombs
Who stuff the banks, who staff the party ranks
More for Gore or the son of a drug lord
None of the above, fuck it, cut the cord!
[Chorus]
Lights out, guerrilla radio
Turn that shit up
Lights out, guerrilla radio
Turn that shit up
Lights out, guerrilla radio
Turn that shit up
Lights out, guerrilla radio
[Verse 2]
Contact, I hijacked the frequencies
Blockin' the beltway, move on DC
Way past the days of bombin' MCs
Sound off, Mumia, go on, be free
Who got 'em? Yo, check the federal file
All you pen devils know the trial was vile
Army of pigs try to silence my style
Off 'em all out the box, it's my radio dial
[Chorus]
Lights out, guerrilla radio
Turn that shit up
Lights out, guerrilla radio
Turn that shit up
Lights out, guerrilla radio
Turn that shit up
Lights out, guerrilla radio
Turn that shit up
[Bridge]
It has to start somewhere
It has to start sometime
What better place than here?
What better time than now?
[Outro]
All hell can't stop us now
All hell can't stop us now
All hell can't stop us now
All hell can't stop us now
All hell can't stop us now
All hell can't stop us now

April 2024 ??? We need this band back more today than anything.
Forget it, they sold out and rich beyond their wildest dreams IE capitalism, their song should be called shilling in the name of
Screw them! They now suckle on the milk from the tit of the machine. But the songs belong to the people now…both sides of the machine need demo’s and rebuilt.
Morello is the most unique guitarist ever, he gets sounds out of a guitar that nobody else does. Love it.
Tim as well
He's super overrated
Matt Bellamy takes inspiration from him you should listen to muse if you like

I grew up with Rage. Its fucking sad because, ultimately, if people are comfortable enough they don't do anything and ignore everything. The band was screaming from the rooftop 20 years ago and look at us now. The elite are stronger than ever. All this division and fighting, the government doing nothing for us while catering to the worlds rich and powerful, environmental disaster, police brutality, etc. is the price we are paying for living so well for so long. Nothing short of cutting the heads off of about a million powerful people will change anything. I feel sorry for younger people, man. I'm only 42.
Well, most of the white dudes jamming this 20 years ago are now Trump voters

Don't lose hope, the younger generation are rising, they are no longer apathetic. There is a global change taking place and for the better.

I’m new to rage against the machine. Maybe only two years now. I didn’t really listen to their music before, I heard it, my ears just didn’t listen and I didn’t give them a fair chance.I’m 71 years old which proves one is never too old to learn to love new kinds of music. My favorite song… Testify.
You're never too old to learn new things. It's the School of Life; you graduate when you're dead.
Me too! I'd heard of them but never listened to their songs, their message.
I like political songs, even rap. A young friend of mine turned me on to Tom McDonald a few months ago.

This world needs them more than ever
Sadly they cheered on the stuff that happened the last four yrs and they had lyrics that were prophetic "this is the new sound, just like the old sound" nothing new under the sun and that includes sell outs!

Yeah, raging in their big mansions overlooking Hollywood Hills. Give me a break, until they start letting everyone to their shows for free, spare me the message of how bad capitalism is while they're laughing straight to the bank. You know what de la rocha net worth is? Around 25, 28 million dollars. How about morello? He's worth around 30 mil. So they should ease off on the attacks that both of them engage on the global wealth being held by 1% of population, because they are considered that 1% they are raging against so loudly. Bunch of pretentious hypocrites
HellBach good music tho
@@summitcove9123
I only enjoyed couple songs off their debut album, I give you that, on their first LP their commie directive or idea may have come out of somewhat genuine place. But the rest of their discography blows in my opinion, they became obsessed with their "message" more than their music. And because their "message" comes from somewhere that's not legitimate, then you can deduce that their music started to suffer and basically sucked. By the way, you can see that they just ran out of ideas, when was the last time ratm released original music? 2000? And for the past 20 years they have been preying on their loyal fans who will dish out the cash every 9,10 years that zach and co. decide for couple of reunion shows when its time to fill their bank accounts a little bit.

I am Japanese. Rage Against the Machine is called Rage in Japan. Their music is really great.
Whoever listens to RATM in 2020, remembers, still carries them in their hearts, grew up with them, sought and wanted the truth, remembers the inner rebel, or has never lost it, those who know their message will be true forever. Today more than ever. These lyrics help me to stay strong and keep shaping me in the right direction. I’m very grateful for that RATM. Without RATM I wouldn't be on the same way, my own track, and I’m going on , I’m moving forward on my track. It is time for us to come together as a nationand is 1 people a nation divided is a nation easily conquered by their government so let us listen to this song and take what it has to say seriously
Totally agree with this, their music is by far the only music that makes you smarter. Because it gives you answers about the bitter truth that's happening in our society. Their music brings self awareness that we're on a system and it's up to us to play along or become the victim of the game. 😇
@Seals 1978 First of all, I am actually too lazy to reply to your comment that mentioning me as this is not my main comment after all. Secondly, it seems that you have a very narrowed understanding about capitalism not to mention the idealism that RATM is shouting. Even if you live in a communist country it doesn't mean that you get everything for free. But since this is something that need to be well informed to others as well then I would spend some little time trying to respond to you.
First, RATM doesn't hate capitalism. They hate the corrupted system especially in USA. They hate how the wealth of US is being controlled by a side with unfair distribution. This is what is happening all over the world actually in case you haven't heard it, despite the political ideology. It's also the main theme that synced in the listeners of their songs. The unfairness and injustice of the corrupted system resound easily to any people that have been through it (which is actually the majority). It's never about the capitalism, socialism, or communism. It's all about the mismanagement on most of the corrupted system filled with greedy people.
Next, even if you understand that RATM hates capitalism. It doesn't mean that they shouldn't charge their show, or if they charge their show for $500++ is something outrageous. They're fighting to get out of the system, not giving out free solution. It's very understandable if they need to charge their show tickets as it's never just RATM alone in the business. There are the sound system company, the venue management, the staffs that manage the preparation, security teams, etc. Which they all live in the corrupted system that requires them to spend money to stay alive and live well, in this situation what's your right to make fun of that for the fact that RATM charges 500++ for the show. From my understanding, RATM can be considered as a band that really put their music first then the commercialism needs. They never been so picky with the venue, and most of their show earnings are donated to foundations that are having misfortunes in the corrupted system they're talking in their songs.
I can never understand the point of view from you alike people. You take a point and make it as another point based on a narrow understanding then make it sounds like you're sounding a bitter truth. It's not like that, never been and will always never be like that. We can't just say RATM is not consistent with their songs because they hate capitalism but charging an expensive price for the tickets (which is also incorrect), neither of us understand the cost of managing more than 1K people in a single venue. Nevertheless, the environment where they need to stand their point. If you don't agree with what they have in their songs just chose another band to like, but don't make it sounds like they're a bad guy. Although, I have never close my mind for an alter reality behind the scene but to mock others idealism is not a good attitude the generation should uphold nor keep. :)

Their music was so shockingly innovative. Nobody had the guts to combine Funk, Hip-Hop and really hard guitars. There was nothing before and after them on the same energetic level. They were a force of nature in their concerts. We should have listened closer to what they were singing …
That style actually existed before them. They took from Urban Dance Squad a lot. Also other bands mixed metal and rap before, like Run DMC, Uncle Slam and others. But RATM did it in a very special way.

But we get silenced for trying to make our school a safe place and fight for what’s right. I feel very discouraged sometimes because of this but, I remember this band, and how they were censored, but that didn’t stop them, and that helps my friends and I push through our unjust school, and honestly country. I’m so glad that this band was formed. It shocks me to see that they had such a powerful message back then, but now, it’s message is just doubled. What does your income have to do with anything? Making over $100K isn't impossible, I do it too, but that doesn't mean the system isn't broken. It means it was worked out for us because it is set up to work for us. I'm a smart white girl from a middle class family in the midwest so yeah, I didn't have too much adversity to overcome man. Some people, smarter than me and more capable than me, will never get the opportunities I had. How is that not a problem for us a a society? @@snakezase2998 yes, but most of them weren't preaching against the system. Rage used to.

RATM really know how to end their songs.
Song was RELEASED IN 1999! How relevant is this now? VERY!!! RATM = Visionaries
Always loved the mix of genre Rock / Metal / hip hop. RATM were kind of pionners. Keep safe and rocking friend and if you have time come check the new song I posted with R&O, would love your views on it : th-cam.com/video/kXsua5jVNtQ/w-d-xo.html
They'll always be relevant, because the government/politics never change.
Dude, this song is one of the reasons I began to love rock, like 15 years ago... Damn, the time is flowing like a river
sorry dude, what a waste of time, sad
Yes it sure is
I like how RATM music videos have uncensored lyrics. Most rare moments in VEVO history when it comes to the VEVO community that puts together music videos from the past 90’s and 2000’s and most of them are censored.
At the end of the day, you can't put your trust in any man. even them. Only one you can trust to always do the right thing is God.
since years we are waiting for this moment, don't shut up ✊🏽
This brings back memories of Tony Hawks pro skater as a kid. Good shit.
We need a remaster now!
@@Tony_Baloney_69420 Where you have been a remake of the first two was announced almost two months ago
I still play them (1,2,3) on my dad's ps2
Remake coming soon
Best time in my life and I didn't even know it then .
This would have millions of more views of it had a better thumbnail.
Why do I feel like RATM is more relevant than ever right now 🙃
