When it’s my off season I go and practice my skills and try to keep my muscles strong with bike rides and roller hockey and I like to focus on knowing different ways to handling the puck

I saw the ducks this sunday and experienced the same with my sign against the glass. Bieksa’s got a sense of humor.
I just play 3 on 3 hockey around 4 times a week at my local arena. Works on my individual skills and it gives me more of an opportunity to work on moves I dont try. Still though, it's more skating than 5 on 5 and works you more. Plus, i often enroll in levels that are more skilled than I am, to be more prepared. Personally, a mixture of this with some off ice conditioning, and firing pucks around on dryland tiles or a shooting pad is perfect.

i would love to have to have a High speed 1v1 with Bieksa. His Fluidity would really test my speed.

I always tell people I’ve played every sport there is to play on planet earth. Hockey is hands down the most all around demanding physically and mentally.

Hey Jeremy I normally find myself training by myself because all my hockey friends play travel and I can’t make the team.... what are the best off I’ve excises I can do to get my legs stronger to do better shifts get my shot harder and more accurate and I also want to practice checking what are good drills to practice these things?
Jon Practice harder. ;) Off-ice exercise for stronger legs would probably involve more explosive type of drills (ie standing vertical jumps), suicides. Shooting harder takes a lot of practice (no joke) because you need to be used to the time and exactly where to hit the ice before the puck, what flex is best, and then there's the fact that you want to get the shot released before a defender gets to you. Shooting accurately will also take a lot of practice, time, and a ton of pucks being shot. Checking? Practice, practice, and more practice. No NHL player makes it without a ton of practice. Not even 4th liners. There are no real days off as Coach Jeremy mentioned. See if you can hire a relatively inexpensive coach in the off-season who also provides ice time.

It's the offseason and people with hockey in their blood still want to play. If they live in the same area, why not? Presumably they get along (digs about the playoffs aside ;-) )
