How Good Was PRIME Patrick Kane Actually?

What does it take to become a legend in the high-stakes world of the NHL? Is it the sheer number of goals, the dazzle of on-ice skills, or the ability to turn the tide of a game? For Patrick Kane, it was all this and more. A three-time Stanley Cup champion, a Conn Smythe Trophy winner, an Olympic medalist, and one of the best puck handlers the game has ever seen. So, how good was Prime Patrick Kane, actually?
The origin of an NHL star often tells us more about their journey than any highlight reel can. For Patrick Kane, it began in the modest neighborhoods of Buffalo, New York. Born into a family where hockey was more than just a game, Kane's childhood revolved around rinks and pucks. By the age of seven, he was already on the ice, his destiny with the puck seemingly preordained. His father, recognizing a special talent, transformed their home's basement into a miniature rink, complete with nets and boards. Here, young Kane spent countless hours, not just practicing but living the game.

Other than just being a skillful player, what Patrick Kane has done for the sport of hockey is incredible. There are other hockey greats in terms of points and accolades who haven’t done what he’s done for hockey. In those years that he and Toews resurrected hockey culture in Chicago, they also put the sport on the map for others like myself who wouldn’t have cared otherwise. He truly understands the entertainment factor of the sport as well and you can see it in his showmanship (absolutely legendary cellies). He’s also in many ways paved the way for smaller offensive players by changing how they are perceived and valued. Tbh sometimes I think I’m only still watching hockey today because Kane is still playing today. Showtime, indeed.

The woman who claimed he assaulted her was found to have the “fluids” of 3+ men on her. None of which belonged to Kane. He passed up on the opportunity to settle out of court because he knew he was innocent and wanted to prove it so he wasn’t just gonna pay to make her go away. The woman and her mother were caught tampering with evidence and her own friends and family admitted she lied. People need to apologize to Kane. He beat up a cab driver when he was a teenager. He apologized and became a better human being and now has a family. Didn’t stop EA from taking him off the cover of NHL 16.. it was him and Toews on home ice holding the cup together. An amazing picture that was scrapped for one just of Toews alone all because that woman wanted money so she created an awful story. Kane is a legend and I’m proud to call him my favorite player.

I saw Kaner play for years on NHL Center Ice as a dedicated Chicago Blackhawks fan. I also saw Stan Mikita and Bobby Hull play often in person at the old Chicago Stadium as a boy. Patrick Kane never had Hull’s bull-in-a-china-shop level of natural strength; but nobody else did either!
Instead, Patrick Kane possesses speed and an absurd degree of elusiveness, much like Stan Mikita, but honestly, even better than that. Kaner’s hands and feet can change speed and direction so quickly as to make an opponent look absolutely foolish! Even Stan wasn’t quite as quick in those areas as Kaner!
WHY Patrick hasn’t received the credit he deserves is beyond me. Maybe now that he’s gone to Detroit and already shown some of his “Showtime” skills in an entirely different section of the country, in a different Division of the NHL altogether, that will help more people appreciate Patrick Kane’s wonderful talents!

He's cold as fuck. I love watching his penalty shots, the way he psyche's goalies out when he's one on one with them is fucking nasty. I've twice seen him bend goalies into pretzels this season without going anywhere near them. Worst thing you can do as a goalie with this guy is buy into his body movement, or stare at the puck because he'll hypnotize you either way and then you're done.

No not even close. Kane produced in the playoffs. Matthews has a lot to prove yet. Spoken like a young Leafs fans that doesn’t know shit about fuck.

This shouldn't even be controversial to say. Dude has a real chance at 80 goals this year, the all-time career goal record, plays high quality defense, is going to pass Kane in career goals in like a year and a half and people are still going to say "Durrr Cups!" because they can't grasp that a better player could play on a worse team.

Guy can’t win a round with the highest paid core of all time, not a clutch bone in his body. Kane put these points up in a much more physical and low scoring era, not to mention he probably had the greatest clutch performances in playoff history. Matthews a much better scorer, but give the puck to 88 in crunch time

@@AlexJones-vy1ri Who cares what they’re paid? Those Hawks teams were deeper and better. If Matthews and Kane switch places those Hawks teams probably still win some cups. I can’t say the same if you put prime Kane on the Leafs. They don’t have the defense or goalie.
