Nintendo online isnt worth it though. Nso has the worst selection, and they are games everyone owns already. Nintendo is pretty garbage these days, not worth giving them money for years for games you already own, and a minuscule amount of games. Emulation is king over nintendo anyday!

Meh, no thanks, I'd rather have them keep releasing remasters like Metroid Prime or Paper Mario: TYD with updated visuals, controls and tweaked gameplay to have them keep up with modern standards than simply emulating 20 year old games through NSO in their original, somewhat dated gameplay mechanics and graphics that most people already played numerous times anyway.

Pretty sure the analog triggers do not work with the Switch Gamecube Controller adapter. So a bluetooth version that allows for the triggers to work properly, would be a big improvement over what we currently have.
There's really no reason to bring Gamecube to NSO. The Gamecube still looks great on an HD tv. Games running on original hardware would run better as well.

Power A makes a VERY VERY good Game Cube controller. Playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with it is perfect. I love the controller and it even wakes your Switch up, which some other controllers aren’t able to do.
I really don't care for the NSO, it's just drip fed releases that are emulated worse on the Switch compared to a PC... I really wish they would actually put some effort into this, like why are fans decompiling and remaking your games for you? Why is the best place to play most of Nintendo's library on PC? I hate that Nintendo cares so little about their older games.

Since I bought my switch, 2-ish years ago, I’ve exclusively been playing my games on a Gamecube controller. Totk, Metroid, MarioKart, etc. I literally don’t know how to play those games with a pro controller or the joy cons.
You can buy gamecube adapters for switch pretty cheap. Work good. I play mario kart 8, mario party superstars, and smash bros with gamecube controllers.
I loved the Wii U, still have it and play every once in a while, I think it gets too much hate but thats me. I also still have my GameCube 😊 i mostly play Zelda games on it
Nintendo has to be holding onto WW and TP for the GameCube NSO service…can’t think of any other reason they’ve let the whole Switch generation pass us all by without releasing those bangers (which would also undoubtably sell well)
Yes the Switch is powerful enough the emulate the GameCube and the Wii very well. Nintendo also has direct access to game code so they would not have to deal with 3rd party emulation inefficiency.

Considering they release consoles in chronological order, they're probably going to release another console alongside it. If it's going to be another Nintendo console alongside it, then it's going to be Nintendo DS.
There isn't a feesable reason to bring gamecube to NSO. They will continue to release remasters of gamecube games. Gamecube games are too large to include in a emulator, unless you want it to be 50-100 gigs. The next console coming to NSO is going to be DS, 3DS, Sega 32x, Game Gear, Neo Geo, and Atari 2600.
GameCube will be Switch 2 due to the added internal storage that comes in the box. Expecting people to have an app with over a dozen GameCube ISO files on their 32GB internal storage (can't always presume people use SD cards) would be unfair.
I have a Wii U modded to the gills, but my steam deck has replaced it. Same with GameCube. I have no need for these services. I own it all, running at 60fps on a beautiful OLED screen.
The expansion should have wayy more games by now. And they need to sell all the old 3ds 2ds game boy color/advance games on the e shop already. LIke wtf is nintendo doing?

If to bring GAME CUBE on a Nintendo SWITCH is a very IFFY question? Now it could be done maybe, but we would have to rework this to format and pour it over. This is a CD cross over to CARTRIDGE system we're talking about. That is hard to emulate!
The GameCube has Broadband capabilities so in order to test it they need a someone to test the online servers because peer to peer is going to ruin this whole entire experience with the GameCube. They will also need this for the Wii and the Wii U so to make sure everything is completely optimized.
I'd bet any money that when Switch 2 arrives the cycle will start again, and we have to wait years for all of these virtual consoles to be slowly added to the catalogue again.

Tbh i doubt they will this time, the console is said to have near full backwards compatibility and the nso games are apps with all the games which should be fairly fast port if it uses the same os as the switch
I would not go back to a previous controller... I think controllers improved with time (I really like the ones we have now). Going back to that controller would be really bad for my hands. I'm all for updated games though (wink: Metroid Prime series!!!)
You know, everyone seems to believe so highly that we'll get GameCube on the NSO. Kinda reminds me of all the years everyone kept saying we were getting Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD. I wonder, could they be bringing Wii to the Switch? The joy-cons already act like wiimotes and nunchucks. It depends on the game but many games did not take the whole disc for data. For example when using compressed file formats for GameCube and Wii in emulators and real hardware, Animal Crossing on the GameCube is only around 30-40 MB. Many titles on the Wii are upwards of 2-3GB but one of the Mario Galaxy games, is only ~400-500MB (pulling this from memory so I might be a bit off) SSB Brawl is a pretty hefty game.
I wish they would just release the Nintendo Retro Set. A console that can play every cartridge and roms. Instead of trying to force retro gamers to buy a Switch that we don't want. And try to force us to rebuy the games we already own. It's like Nintendo execs are stuck in the 1900's. They need a better way to monetize retro games. Instead of fighting ROMS embrace them.

You can already play Cube online with Retroarch. And that way you can play every game. Not just the titles Nintendo slowly re releases.
