      I did not know about that app!
      I rock text-generation-webui but your app looks really convenient compared to that.
      This is complete wrong place to ask, but, could code formatting be something you would consider implementing, maybe as a plugin?
      I will still try your app, but if code formatting were a thing, and ability to run ANY downloaded safetensor model (maybe there already is), there would be no question of what app I would be using. :)
      Thanks for your FOSS contribution! ❤
      Edit, after some digging on your github, there seems to be MD support.. maybe.. I'll just download the app and try.. Thanks again!

    One of the first things I did when moving to Linux was look into music players. I probably wasted decades only using Windows Media Player before upgrading to VLC on Windows which isn't the best way to browse your music library since you're still doing that through a file explorer and not an in app library. I ended up settling on Strawberry and now I can't view my Linux experience without it. Being able to easily direct which folder for it to scan for music and then populating a media library in app easily got me buying more digital music to increase my library. One app I discovered after hanging out in the PikaOS discord that I also now love is the XIV Launcher off of flathub for playing Final Fantasy 14 since I'm now giving WoW a rest and playing catch up in FF14. Was using Lutris to run it until they mentioned how much better they liked the stand alone flatpak version so I gave it a go and like it.

    • @no-prophet
      @no-prophet 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How do you make Strawberry to add subfolders? I have a lot of nested subfolders with one or two songs and I have to navigate to the last subfolder in a tree and add songs one by one, I can't add a folder containing subfolders to the library. (I hope I explained it properly, English is not my first language)

    • @SpikeSlania
      @SpikeSlania 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @no-prophet I'm not exactly sure what you're describing. I have a folder on a separate HDD that I call Music and just select that. Inside that I then have a folder for every Artist, inside each of those folders are folders for each album. I haven't had any issues with Strawberry detecting the whole tree

    • @no-prophet
      @no-prophet 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SpikeSlania I was describing exactly that, at first it didn't work, it wouldn't import subfolders, so I had to import songs one by one, but now it works somehow. Probably I did something wrong.

    I have some pretty nice hifi gear here, so for me there are only two music players for linux: Strawberry and Audacious. The reason for this is because, AFAIK, these are the only two players I can bypass Pulseaudio and send the data straight to my dac, to have bit perfect audio. I wish more players gave us the option, but alas. Strawberry does a nice job of managing my flac file collection while Audacious has a more minimalist view, for when I just want to play a CD.

    I want to warn about those "mission centers". All of them I tried ...wake-up 2nd GPU on double-GPU laptops and keep it awake. This means raised temperature and power consumption. Okay, I see it in the Chapters on the right now. Didn't see that before, but a singular single, line-by-line layout with hyperlinks would be nice. Then, we can copy & paste it into our Lists of what apps we want to play-with & learn.

    What a great video, this proves that hardly anyone knows how high quality apps are actually available in linux.

    About Mission Center... I like that it provides a lot of information, but when you try to scale it too small the menu on the left disappears, making it difficult to use

    • @linuxnext
      @linuxnext  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i dont think its that hard to use when you shrink it, there is a button to bring up the side bar again when its scaled down so not a big issue for me but yeah i can understand why it might be annoying for others

    How drab, and boringly consistent and minimalist *everything* looks to the point of me being unable to discern one app from another at a glance. How utterly miserable and dull.

    • @linuxnext
      @linuxnext  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Well people talk about how Linux doesn't have a consistent UI for apps, now they figure it out mostly and then people complain it's boring? Lol

      @@linuxnext it's impossible to satisfy everybody. i very much prefer a unified look than every app having it's own look and design because it's messy to look at

      Wait, you can't tell the difference between GTK programs? Like, do you think Misson Control is extremely similar to Parabola? Do you have dyslexia?
