Bought this shoe for Canadian winters ... The grip is unreal, ended up loving this shoe and seem to be grabbing it more and more for every type of run, I got the black pair so I'm bringing them with me when I travel aswell to see if I can squeeze in runs on vacation where I don't know what I'll be running on and they don't look at a running only shoe!

I am expecting in 2024 that Puma Deviate Nitro 3, Saucony Endorphine Speed 4, Asics Superblast 2, would be the best daily trainer brands.

Yea the upper loosens up a bit. The foam also loosens up a bit as well. It’s a nice all arounder, though the plate is noticeable on longer runs

Very comfortable for wide feet. Excellent for faster cadance but killed my Achilles Tendon and low calf muscle in slow runs. Very much like the Speed 3. Noted very light and plate hard so not for slow runs.

love my DN2s, excellent grip in iffy conditions

I love this one for tempo and intervals. I agree that it doesn't work very well at slow paces, and it's too heavy for racing. It's a training one - and pretty good on that.

100% agree with you on the slight loosening of the upper during a run. It's definitely not just you. I've had to compensate by remembering to tie them just a little tighter, but it hasn't been a big deal for me. Weirdly I've noticed the same thing on my preferred racing shoe, the Deviate Nitro Elite. Overall I really do love this shoe and have put a few hundred miles on my pair. I'll need to get a new pair soon.

you could try changing the laces to elastic. so they stay

Puma often runs sales on their shoes and was able to get these for $96 last Christmas.
They're interesting for sure. The plate is more muted than what I'm used to, but I really do like the shoe for easy miles. Feels like a bit of a workhorse that can pick up the pace.

I have the collaboration version of the DN 2, and you nailed it with the upper. I have this trainer to 200 miles. Currently, the upper has kinda stretched out. The fit is a bit sloppy, not saying I can't put more miles on the shoe, but going down hills is sketchy, not really wanting to grab it anymore when I do hill repeats, the foam has held up well and the tread is killer

It's an incredible trainer, good for running and walking... In fact if you want durable walkers, these are the best.

I never had an issue with the lace loosening. It’s probably user specific.

I’ve been running in this shoe for the past few weeks. I really enjoy it. I was surprised at how well the shoe performs. Great grip, and fit. Cushioning isn’t crazy but it’s enough for those long training days.

I've run them on forest trails and after each run I have at least one pine cone or spruce cone in the cutout of each shoe outsole, so for me they are only useable as a road shoe.

Still have the deviate nitro 1. That has become my holiday (vacation) shoe as I know I won't have a problem with grip for runs I do on unknown roads/routes...... and my wife is not offended by its stealth black colourway when used for travel/airports 😁. I've not got the nitro II

I have this pair although not my preferred pair for running in. I'm a forefoot striker for runs although trying to shift to heel but still not fully recovered there yet. I don't feel enough squish padding in the forefoot vs NB 1080v12 and Nimbus25. I too find it expanding and laces loosening after about 8km, so I use togs to cinch instead of tying, it is much faster and I don't have to stop for long. What I like about the shoe is the abv average ventilation and how quickly it dries after getting soaked in the rain - overnight vs 3 days. The outsole is grippy like the Asics Gel Kinsei Blast which is my fav running shoe, but wears out pretty soon. The DN2 I feel is best for brisk walks and slow wide-stride jogs can feel the rebound the most. Faster runs and I don't notice the cushioning it just feels like any ordinary running shoe nothing special.

Love this shoe. I had the feeling that the midsole got a bit harder in cold conditions. But I might be imagining it.

    • @michaelcaricoo
      @michaelcaricoo ปีที่แล้ว +1

You're probably not. Most foams are temperature dependent so they get firmer in lower temperatures. It's why the foam in the Ride/Triumph/Speed 3 runshield versions that are meant for cold weather are softer than their regular counterparts, so it evens out when it's cold and the foam gets firmer

Still waiting for the Puma Deviate Nitro 2 to go on high discount again (I had to miss the Xmas high-discount sale as I just bought a Mach 5 that time!😂)
I had a Puma Velocity Nitro 2 (replaced with Mach 5 now). It's a light & simple, no-brainer daily trainer shoes. Pumagrip outsole but no loud slapping sound. In fact not much sound when I was running faster on it.
I also have a pair of Deviate Nitro Elite. Now this shoes has QUITE loud slapping sound😅despite the outsole is using only Pumagrip LT. So I THINK the slapping sound is mostly due to the carbon plate???🤔
As for upper / lacing...I only laced & tied the Velocity Nitro 2 ONCE & it stayed the same until I had to retire it!😆
But the Deviate Nitro Elite has the same "loosening up” problem that u mentioned u have with the Deviate Nitro 2.

have 100km on them already. Loving every run whilst on them. Yeas the top feels abit loose but that doesn't really concern me. oh, I use them on easy runs also. I'd say it's my all rounder.
the only interesting part is I find it the quietest amongst all my running shoes (Vaportfly Next%2, Adios 7, Nimbus 25, Mach 5). I guess it my stride and how I land my foot.
