    Thanks for the information and get well soon. One thing I'd like to add is that Midway and Dixie Gun Works have Tap-O-Cap percussion capmakers, which will get you away from the sky-high priced percussion caps.

    RWS Musket Caps are supposed to be available for purchase this month. I'm definitely buying some. Better to have some extra than have less than 200 on hand.

    Take care of yourself, Ethan. Thanks for the update. Warning about scams is always good. It's also good to go to your local small shop first before ordering on line or going to a big box store. Thanks!

    After hearing your comments about CCI getting caps to distributors in “mid-July”, I checked with Academy and they had #11s available for pickup in the store. Limited out my order today and I’ll do it again tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

    Here in Denmark RWS caps are usually the cheaper - and more readily available - option compared to CCI (I have not seen Remington caps here for years). But at this time the 1075s are not available, neither are CCI No. 11 caps. It will be interesting to see what they will sell for once they are back in stock - if they get back in stock anytime soon.

    Sorry to see your under the weather Ethan. Cap's was never a problem here in Canada. Flint's are the problem. I buy mine from track of the wolf but with shipping,duty and taxes,the exchange on the dollar it's getting really bad. I diamond file my flints rather than napping to make them go farther. You guys are going to need RWS musket cap's for the shed horn whenever traditions get them made for sale. Ethan I finally took the plunge and bought a Kibler woods runner in 54 Fancy maple incised carved. This will be my first kit build. So I keep watching your old videos to refresh my memory lol. I watch
    Jim's too with great interest. He takes his craft of long gun's very serious. I know I have bought a outstanding product. I just pray I do it justice putting it together. Take care get well my BP friend.

    Buffalo Arms also has them in stock. They sell them in bundles of 4 tins (1000 caps) for $210.00. THat price includes shipping and HAZMAT. They don't collect sales tax for some reason.
    I sucked it up and bought a modest supply. Like you said, bird in hand. You can't convert a cap and ball revolver to flintlock, LOL.

      @@ILoveMuzzleloading Now we can get them for about 120 PLN ($30). The year before, when there was a shortage of almost any percussion caps, shops asked for as much as 300 PLN ($73)! That really hurt my wallet🙂. Some folks here were thinking of switching to flintlocks. Thank God and Ammotec, it's all over now. Let it be so.
      I've been watching your videos for some time. You're doing a hell of a good job👍.

    Looks like I have to wait a bit longer for caps here in Australia just got into muzzle loading with a 50 calaber lyman trade rifle with two tins of cci no 11 caps, The last 2 tins in the gun shop after I opened one tin the first 4 caps failed to fire the fifth fired after the second attempt. The gun shops I can get to don't have anything, no percussion caps or primers for reloading (I reload 303 British) for my no 4 mark 1/3 lee enfeild. In Australia you can't buy guns or powder online you have to go into the gun shop

    Great info. Seems you have quite the bead on the industry and issues. Wondering what if anything you have heard on pistol/#10 caps. I know some people say pinch the #11 down a bit, but would love to see proper stock come back for cap and ball revolvers.

    $40 for 250 RWS caps....some may consider that a bargain these days. RWS used to use Dynamit Nobels SINOXID, this was also used in Geco Boxer primers. The updated patent is lead free and my favorite, $2 per K.

    I went in a store this morning. Tons of primers and powder.
    Winchester triple 7 primers. 29.00 plus tax for 100.
    Triple 7 powder pellets 45.00.
    Plus tax didnt look at the bullets. 😂😂😂
    Glad i use regular 209's in my cva. Arkansas Walmarts have #11 . Federal muzzleloader 209 primers. Winchester triple 7 primers. Bunch of powder different types. But the price of blackhorn. They can keep it. Its bad when bass pro. Is cheaper than Walmart. Been to a few bass pro and sportsman's warehouse's. Both had primers and powder. Even seen Federal blue box 209 primers by the 1000.

    I have an issue in that sometimes, when stuff is cheap, I buy way too much (hoard). Wife can better explain.
    Anyway, such was the case in the 2017 - 2019 period when Gander Mountain was going out of business. I bought a crap ton of caps, powder, BP ammo etc. So not only did I get it at before Covid prices, it was marked down significantly as well for the going out of business sale. Now, I am set on caps and powder for the foreseeable future and glad I don't have to participate in all the current craziness.
    Of course, none of this great decision making impressed my wife. Not one bit. She couldn't give a rats ass about the state of my black powder hobby. I think she still thinks it was a waste of money.

    • @Bhartrampf
      @Bhartrampf ปีที่แล้ว +1

      😂 just show her how much a small black powder making set up will cost, and I don't mean a HF rock polisher either, but a actual set up. Ball or roller, a long with a puck maker. Don't forget all the equipment and material for casting your own bullets and all the time it will take you to make it all. If that doesn't work, just ask her how many shoes and boots she owns and how much do they cost?😂😂😂😂😂

    • @chaecoco2
      @chaecoco2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Men and women can be at odds at times on the value they place on things. If I wasn't married, I would never, ever buy diamond jewelry. When I do, I go kicking and sceaming, LOL. To me it is a total waste of money. But women seem to love diamonds, and place value on them, so we acquiesce. Happy wife, happy life, right?

    In France we use mostly the RWS, CCI and Remington are not common.
    But since Covid none have been restock, or in so small batch that they have been purchased in few minutes…
    I have absolutely no hope to see them back in stock this year, specially because USA will suck up everything before we even have a chance to see them, like everytime for what touch the gun department because the US market is so big that it have the priority on everything and before anyone.
    In my opinion the ammunition’s will be back when the USA will stop his war with Russia, not sooner.

    • @ILoveMuzzleloading
      @ILoveMuzzleloading  ปีที่แล้ว

      Remington (Ammo manufacturing) is owned by the same holding group as CCI (Vista Outdoors). I think we can expect production of them in tandem, but it will depend on what they want to make. I think the current level of inventory shows it’s not a high priority.
