my relatives live in Ukraine, but they are HUNGARIANS. they live there because their whole life is there. it was hungarian territory once, and they did not had the money and the resources to move, so they stayed, but they are HUNGARIANS whatever happens.... it hurts me that this lady says that those who are there in ukraine and once lived in hungary that they are identify as ukrainians... that is bs, everyone who got the military letter (i dont know the english word for it) they HAVE to go to war... and the ukrainians make minority to be in the front line and they know nothing about how to fight so they die easily, and the whole situation is useless, those death are useless.... poor people... but they would never idetify as ukrainians just because they fight in a useless war... they have to fight, they have no other option

Oh, and kept Eu regulation restricting goverment subsidiaries to key economic elements. Besides, EU cohesion funds are targeted - about half of it must go to "less then economically optimal" projects.

Orban is president for 16 ys constantly Fico is reelected 3 months ago(?). This is a pretty big difference. When Fico is going to be a leader for 6-7 ys in line and still talk like this… that’s going to be something. Orban is fighting with Eu, with the other Hungarian party and with Usa too and still in position because Hungary is behind him. @@thomaswelly1371 The simple fact that we have another voice for realism, peace, and normalisation is good. Hungary & Slovakia are small countries but very loud voices in the EU and NATO. Not being an enemy to Russia in the EU is like being a friend in the current climate. A friend, not just to Russia though, but the 90% of people in Europe who want to avoid war! Time will tell of course, but exactly how much time do we have left without opposition?????

Everyone around him is a multi billionaire while hospitals are closing, schools are dying, goverment protected kids get €3.8 worth of meals for a whole day. The EU is freezing money from Hungary for a reason, because the political elite just steals everything for themselves and put public wealth into their private funds. You're right, but actually Orban speaks better english than what we saw in this interview, I say he was put off guard with very difficult questions, I saw him with Tucker Carlson and he was impressive.
I’m Hungarian, his english is not at all impressive, especially if you consider that also went to Oxford with George Soros scholarship

His speach of peace (the kind of peace what he images) led to much bigger threat, what we currently have. Just think about, what would happen if Russia wins? It will be more stronger, with a Leader who dreams about the restoration of the old Sovietunion. He wont stop in Ukraine...

The purpose of this was to be able to retain power as easily as possible, since instead of two rounds of elections, now only one round of elections will decide who governs Hungary. As a result, the elections were modified in such a way that even a fraction of the country's population can decide the fate of an entire country, since there is no lower limit to the number of votes. Electoral fraud, vote buying and manipulation of votes and dividing people in order to win the election are regular in elections. Orbán deliberately destroyed the checks and balances in the country, which can be seen in action in all areas of the administration. This is a pseudo-Christian, pseudo-nationalist, pseudo-conservative government and there is only one goal for them, to stay in power as long as possible, thereby stealing even more. Don't believe a word he says, because even if you ask, he's lying!!! I would say that he is the new Hitler, but the truth is that in some ways he is worse than him, because Hitler really did act for his people, even if he made many questionable decisions, but this man is just a petty thief who wants to manipulate everyone he wants, even you, dear viewer, and he can risk everything and everyone, even his own country, for power.

As a Hungarian living in the UK, I'd say this must have been some sort of sarcastic joke. With all respect, I strongly disagree with you. His English used to be so much better when he was younger, although it's undoubtedly true that his generation is not the best when it comes to speaking English. Most of his younger ministers or colleagues in the cabinet have a much higher level of fluency in spoken English. Check out Zoltan Kovacs (International Spokesman of the Cabinet Office) or Peter Szijjarto (Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade). Compared to them, Mr Orban's performance was quite poor tbh :(

@@peterilleg2748 A few years ago, I attended job interviews in Budapest and international companies tested my language skills in both English and Spanish. Depending on the role, especially if you want a better one, you need to be fluent in at least two foreign languages. English only no longer counts. So when I found out that the Budapest mayor doesn’t speak any foreign languages, I was kinda shocked. Although it’s not uncommon that leaders have poorer skills than their employees. We’ve seen lots of examples for that. Especially among Hungarian politicians :)

Putting all of these aside, I'd say his biggest mistake is this: He gave up principle-based politics to become a real opportunist. He tries to please both sides (East & West) as he thinks it's the best interest to the country. I think he's fatally wrong; you must choose sides when your neighbour is at war. We call our country "Türkiye". However, Turkey" is an exonym, a name given by foreigners. There is a general agreement in the world that you need to respect the country names used by the people of these countries. You had better say Türkiye from now on. The discussion at a point, around 11 min, is painful. Mr Orban explains Trianon and tells that due to Trianon Hungarians were trapped in Ukraine, so those are Hungarians, who serve in the army of Ukraine and die in the war. Transcarpathian Hungarians called on Orbán to support Ukraine on its way to European integration
The Hungarian Democratic Union of Ukraine posted the open letter in which the Hungarian leaders of Transcarpathia assure Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Charles Michel, President of the European Council, that they support the decision to start negotiations on Ukraine's EU membership scheduled for December 14-15.
"Over the past year, Ukraine has made significant progress in implementing the European Commission's recommendations on ensuring the rights of national minorities. The new draft law adopted by the Ukrainian parliament significantly reflects the interests of national minorities and enjoys our full support," they wrote.
"We strongly call on the leaders of the EU member states to continue supporting Ukraine on the path of European integration. The move to ensure democracy and the rights of national minorities is an integral part of the Copenhagen membership criteria, and we believe that Ukraine deserves its efforts in this direction."
Orban denied it.

He does not represent the Hungarian people, since after winning the 2010 election with 2/3, his first step was to immediately amend the election law included in the constitution. The purpose of this was to be able to retain power as easily as possible, since instead of two rounds of elections, now only one round of elections will decide who governs Hungary. As a result, the elections were modified in such a way that even a fraction of the country's population can decide the fate of an entire country, since there is no lower limit to the number of votes. Electoral fraud, vote buying and manipulation of votes and dividing people in order to win the election are regular in elections. Orbán deliberately destroyed the checks and balances in the country, which can be seen in action in all areas of the administration. This is a pseudo-Christian, pseudo-nationalist, pseudo-conservative government and there is only one goal for them, to stay in power as long as possible, thereby stealing even more. Don't believe a word he says, because even if you ask, he's lying!!! He's lying though, all he cares about is collecting the highest taxes in Europe and giving that money to his family and friends. Everyone around him is a multi billionaire while hospitals are closing, schools are dying, goverment protected kids get €3.8 worth of meals for a whole day. The EU is freezing money from Hungary for a reason, because the political elite just steals everything for themselves and put public wealth into their private funds. He just wants to look nice in front of people like you but it's all just a facade of the national propaganda. Also Hungary became an electoral autocracy under him with an illusion of democracy.
