  • Israel's offensive in Rafah has put relations with its neighbor Egypt under severe strain. Egypt has for decades cooperated on security arrangements along its border with Gaza - but Cairo suspended that cooperation when Israeli troops took over the Gazan side of the Rafah border crossing.

    The lady analyst doesn't know what she is talking about. She has no understanding of how smuggling works and also seems unaware that the manufacture of weapons occurs inside Gaza. The only issue is gaining enough high explosives for the bombs either by smuggling in the precursors or high explosive itself and enough precursors for low explosives or gun powder for rockets , mortars and bullets. Reason you can't smuggle low explosives in is they are to unstable and packing them safely would stand out too much. The only way major smugglers of drugs for example get caught is by following the money and Israel is incapable of doing that in the case of Gaza. Also we are talking about relatively small sums of money.

      That important bit of info doesn't give Israel the excuse it needs to fire missiles and drop bombs on over a million civilians in Rafah. The fairy tale about weapons smuggling *does,* as well as placing Egypt diplomatically on the defensive. • @rachaelik
      @rachaelik 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The weapons are manufactured by Palestinians in Gaza. There are *many* master and journeyman level gunsmiths there, as well as some talented weapons designers. It's a genuine industry.
      The Israeli government seems very reluctant to mention this important fact, despite knowing about it. That fact doesn't give them the excuse they need to shoot missiles at and drop bombs on a million civilians, but their new Rafah fairy tale does. It also puts Egypt diplomatically on the back foot and gives an excuse as to why Israel has YET AGAIN violated another sovereign nation's territory.
      It also allows them to invoke the bogeyman Iran, but in a way that doesn't make Palestinians look resourceful, competent, and talented. The smuggling of raw materials, tools, and machines IS the actual truth.
