Hello Sir, I have question on the santa fe driving performance after the AWD failed, Any Lights on Dash? Any Codes? any Shudder on mid range speed? and If it was Rusted welded together shouldnt it still have rear wheel Distrubution? I am trying to figure out what my issue is based No lights No codes No AWD, and feeling something isnt right while driving while in gear. and shifting on point with no issues.
Hi. First of all thank you for such a great video, I am seeing it from Colombia. 🇨🇴🇨🇴 I do have a Kia Sportage AWD 2013, and the rear wheels are not working either, do you think that could’ve a similar reason ? Taking under consideration that those two brands are made at the same factory ?
There are are a few different reasons the AWD might fail, but this seems to be the most common. A simple test can verify it. Put the vehicle on a lift and put it in drive. With the front wheels spinning, the driveshaft going to the rear should also be spinning. If it isn't, than this is likely the same issue, where the transmission is damaged
No need to dismantle the transmission if u happy with fwd function, what to do is only , just clean with grinding the whole teeths of transfer case mining and remove of propeller shaft
Thanks for the vid. I can drive just FWD only from now on, right? The service advisor at the dealer said the front wheels can lose power too. I'm not sure about that.
My 2008 Santa Fe AWD is making a loud banging sound when I put it into D or R with doot on the brake. I thought I felt play in the driver’s side front axleshaft joint so I replaced that to no avail. Changed front lower motor mount that looked like it had excessive play but no luck. The front to rear driveshaft is still is looking good as far as u-joints and hanger bearing go. The lower control arm bushings are good. A stethoscope on the front drivers axle shaft is the loudest. With stethoscope the noise does not appear excessive freeplay between a leshaft and front hub nor is there a loud clunk when I put stethoscope on the transmission housing around the axleshaft. Any ideas?
Hello, I want to ask you if you successfully replaced the wearned part of differential. I ask you because I want do it on my Santa fe, when it will not need some special tool to do it. will be possible share the movie from youre repairing ?
All hyundai awd same things mine too

What was the cost of that basket piece for the transmission?

@@lbob2004 The front wheels drive directly from the transmission. You shouldn't ever lose drive power to those, unless your transmission breaks
Is there any changes to 2017+ vehicle's? Or do they still experience the same issues?
@@tonydelovski8088 Same issues up to current gen Hyundai's with the H-Trac systems
Amigo tienes la medida del sello interno del la transmisión?
If this join fails, as mine is about to do, do you lose all drive or just the drive the rear wheels? Does failure make you dead in the water?
You'll lose all wheel drive, but will still have the front two wheel drive working
How hard/long did it take to drop the transmission,? Can a diy in a driveway do this?
It's doable, yes. I removed the nose of the vehicle and pulled the engine and transmission together. Goes pretty fast like that

Same issues here, did u find anything out?

I did take some videos of that repairs. Will try to upload it soon
New video is up now about the repairs to the transmission

now I think my 2013 santa fe sport has the exact same problem.. the fun fact is two of three dealerships found nothing wrong from inspection.
Jack it up and see if you can spin the driveshaft going to rear. If you can, the transmission is broken
@@jamminmechanics what could possibly go wrong if i don't have the transmission fixed and keep driving the car like a FWD?
@@kcpncfs9234 Nothing much
Just only have 2wd. If you do get stuck and spin wheels, the VSC and ABS will freak out a bit, but no harm
@@kcpncfs9234 It was $90ish when I got it. Prices have likely changed
Really good video thanks so much
