Stuck Intermediate Shaft
Working on an '03 Dodge Ram 1500. The front intermediate shaft was stuck in the differential. The fix? A 50¢ adaptor and a little welding. Took 5 minutes, no problem 😎

I have a 2022 Tucson and I noticed when turning hard left from a stop I get a rough slipping feeling, I wonder If this is the problem. Thanks.
Did you add any grease to the spline on reassembly?
No need to dismantle the transmission if u happy with fwd function, what to do is only , just clean with grinding the whole teeths of transfer case mining and remove of propeller shaft
El motor de mi generador no mantiene las 1800 rpm solo 1750 y cuando acelero mas, se sube a 2500rpm, que deberia revisar?
… LIQUIFY 😎
I've watched several videos on doing this and haven't worked on my pump at all. Since I just watched this you made it look simple! Thank you!!
Great info thanks
Good info bud bout to knock these out myself needed a refresher lol👍🏼
Good vid mate thanks, I had torque converter repaired and replaced filter while I had case apart. I didn’t know replacing just the diff side wudv fixed this up that’s good information to know. Buying a new transfer box for 2500 deterred me from repairing it along with the diff carrier too much work n expense I thought just to get AWD back. Cars more of a family mover than something il take up a dirt road. I rate these cars they’re prob the best 7 seater iv driven plenty power economy and comfort
Cost please
All hyundai awd same things mine too
Thanks for the video, if its prone to happen, replacing the spare part, would it not just fail again soon? I have the same issue with 3 Tucsons.
@@DanielHernandez-v6j I pack the splines with grease during reassembly. This should help keep water out and keep the splines in good, clean condition
Why didn’t you just pull the engine. So much extra unnecessary work .
@@scottcopher5147 These engines are very difficult to pull. Pulling the engine can add 6 to 10 hrs to the job
I know this is a 9 year old video but its the only thing I've found that shows this modification. Pretty awesome.
@@johngaston308 Hopefully help some fellow Jeepers. I run into this problem still. Simple reconfiguration and it's good to go with new coil rails 👍🏻
Is there any changes to 2017+ vehicle's? Or do they still experience the same issues?
@@tonydelovski8088 Same issues up to current gen Hyundai's with the H-Trac systems
Thanks! A clear explanation of what to look for. Did I mention I hate computerized cars?
@@bruceallen6016 I have recently started building replacement pigtail kits for these Jeeps. Check the description for a link
I’m gonna have to try this In the morning mine is stuck pretty bad though
Plz😢
Hey bro could u do a tear down guide for this same gearbox
Do you have one that you gotta rebuild?
There are numerous vid's on pump removal / install but none covered the timing spacer after install very well done. Now I have it down. Thank You for clear and precise instruction.
The couplers go bad quite often. If you hear a loud popping noise or feel like something is binding in the rear end when turning it is probably the coupler.
Why Do they use so small wire ?
Thanks so much for your videos on this fix, very helpful. Just wondering if the bearing on the diff basket is pressed on? Can it be removed without damaging, or should I order a new one? Thank you!
Thanks for the vid. I can drive just FWD only from now on, right? The service advisor at the dealer said the front wheels can lose power too. I'm not sure about that.
@@lbob2004 The front wheels drive directly from the transmission. You shouldn't ever lose drive power to those, unless your transmission breaks
Great ! Thank u very much, merci !
rebuilt a ford 5.4 triton it was the biggest nitemare i ever had
can you do that with forged rods?
Hello, where does i found thos parts for a kia portage 2014 ???
You sound like felonious falafel
question. Does this fix apply on the 2000 wj? And what does it do without the fix? Jst cranks?
Hi Help, How do I know the quality of my Head gasket for a 2009 3.3 Dodge Caravan. The prices on line are from $89 dollars to $459 from a dealer. Please do a video on this.
This should be illegal to design something like this for the common citizen.
Mazda 3 speed automatic transaxle and the 4 speed used in the 80s and 90s does the same spider gear fall out if not held with a cv axle used on Ford as well and Isuzu cars.
Thanks for the link my dad told me it didnt work today :( ordered the part and I'll have the box out next weekend, top man 👊
The normal quite ticking these honda 3.5 v6 do? Injectors, valves, and rockers?
Yes there is only one bolt holding it to the timing cover actually the oil pump which is built into the timing cover but there are three bolts total that hold the pickup to to the bottom of the engine and all three have to be removed to get the pickup tube out and the timing cover loose
U can lower the pan and reach in with a wrench to get that bolt
Great info. What’s the average cost of a timing belt replacement for those Odyssey’s? Thank you
I just paid $1500
Absolutely the dumbest things I've seen in awhile. Fix it back to oem.
The old coils are no longer available, only the new ones with the different wiring. Only other fix is to purchase the $60+ "adapter harness"
You don't need it glowing red, a dull gray, around 400f
Okay, HUGE THANK YOU for doing such a deep dive of the cluster assembly! Been doing an overhaul of lights, needles, etc of my own and seeing how the full assembly comes apart was EXTREMELY helpful!
Fix mine on the 99 jeep grand Cherokee 4.0 l6
I have a 1999 Jeep WJ with the 4.0L engine. Have been troubleshooting for days. Engine runs very bad, very weak spark on 2,3,4, and 5. No spark on 1 and 6. Haven't owned it very long. My thoughts are someone replaced the Coil Pack and didn't change the wiring. The hot wire on the plug is on Pin 3. Haynes manual shows it to be on Pin 2. Would that verify the plugs needs to be rewired like your video shows? Thanks.
Changing the ECU fixed the no spark problem !!
Junk
Thanks for the video - yep, it helped someone!
Hello! Can you explane how to take a parts out from the transmission. I my transmission at the table an i have opened it, but dont know how to take proken part away.
Sorry!!😂😂😂 Just have to lift it!😅😅😅

What about rod composition? Mine are GM powdered metal, can they take the heat?
Probably wouldn't recommend it if they're powdered and not cast steel. Definitely research it and see. Typically powder-cast sintered rods don't have pressed wrist pins, rather full float with brass bushings. The wrist pin is held in the piston with snap rings. Something to note is the temperatures involved with tempering or sintering is significantly higher than what's needed to remove and install new wrist pins
@@jamminmechanics I was under the impression that all modern GM factory rods were powdered metal and the press fit type
Older stuff perhaps, but a lot of newer GM products are all full float. I think they're big engines are still old school press fit though
