Haha true be have Kevin, may he rest in Stasis in peace. But depending on who you talk to Wyverns are different from Dragons. Either way, wyvern or dragon I think RWBY could use more 😆
I think that the gods wanted to create Faunus not just because they themselves have animalistic traits, but also because they wanted humanity to prove itself worthy by having Ozpin unite them and creating differences between people would be a sort of extra test.
I agree, because the relics are to be brought together when humanity is united again, with the creation of the Faunus it was a way to make it harder for ospin to help humanity because I imagine that the gods were pretty salty about their creations turning on them.
My theory is that Ozpin has the power to turn people into animals, Salem could have similar powers and attempted to turn animals into humans. Her failed attempts would become the Faunus.
Your theory is interesting but it’s also possible that the God of Darkness wiped out all living creatures and they mixed together at that time. From there it was just evolution running its natural course. I lean towards this line of thinking because animals also have aura and thus could possibly also have semblances just like humans and Faunus.
I like your idea. I can see it being the case, animals crushed by the moon to to be reborn into a better form. There might be a bit of poetry in that. My idea was that maybe the first faunas were Salam's experiments for what ever she was planning or thinking of at the time. Tyrian blindly and whole heartedly worships her and Lionheart is almost instinctively afraid of her. Perhaps she had something to do with that prior.
I had thought of that being the case but even with the magic that was in the 'dust' of old humanity, I don't think Salem would have the power to create life. It would be a really great plot point though

I think faunus are like the evolution of mankind to battle grimm. You could say the faunus is mother nature's creation to battle grimm. I think I heard somewhere in one of WOR vids that animals may have aura but grimm does not attack them. Grimm only attack humans. Since faunus are humans with animal traits maybe they attract grimm less than humans. Like in Menagerie during an assassination attempt not one single grimm appeared.
I think the Faunus are result of a human or possibly multiple humans who developed semblances that caused permanent biological alterations. I don't think its out of the realm of possibility for a human to develop a semblance like that. Because we learned that semblances can develop in a number of way some seem random, some hereditary, but in Ren and Nora's case they both developed their semblances by an external influence that put their lives in danger like an evolutionary adaptation. Nora's especially because her body can can store and convert electricity into physical strength. I think Faunus might be the descendants of Permanently altered humans
I like that theory. I also had one.. that I am not sure how much people will like it, Salem clearly wasn't a fan of being alone at first.. So what if he mixed animals with the dust trying to make companions Slowly growing more and more bitter as none of them filled the hole her soul so she went off to live alone after having made enough they'd just exist with out her assistance .

Well here is my addition to the story. before the gods wipe humanity and left remmnant, the god of darkness left the creatures of grim to bring death and destruction but the god of light also left a power of his own a weapon against darkness warriors who are destined for greatness that will bring the light and rid of evil

This seems oh so familiar.
Hiya. Late comment and someone else might have had this idea I hadn't really checked but I just wanted to leave my idea. I feel like when Dust ended up re-creating humanity it wouldn't be perfect or nailed down every time. There may be a failure or accidental mix of traits from other species that existed at the time OR maybe even The faunus are more similar to the original humans with their extra animalistic traits being like a step up from normal humans as we can see that they could have things like fully working tails that can easily support the body weight of a full person, night vision, better hearing and in cases like ilia the ability to blend into your surrondings. Dust not able to fully recreate everything a human had broke it down into parts that carried an aspect of their original forms that would result millenia later as the trains which Faunus would present. Humans as we currently know them would just be an easier and more stable lifeform to create more consistently and might have a better ability to hold magic as a whole or again just be a more stable form. Thus there are more of them who could survive easier leading to more being able to act with their full strength more against the grimm and elements and Faunus who are more unstable would typically die more maybe due to a defect or inability to maintain their closer to the original forms. Which would be why everyone has traits for a certain animal and not multiple at once at least far as I know. Then years down the line everyone would be at a state where they can safely hold and can effeciently use which is where we are now. Probably sounds messy but yeah that's my take on it if no one else has made it. Loved this video and hope to see more content from you.
I came across a theory of how the Faunus came to be. When the God of Darkness reduced humanity to ash and scattered across the world, the animals left ingested the ash whether by eating or breathing the ash, which triggered the evolution of some animals into Faunus.
Before The lost fable came out i tought that whatever was the original race used one or more of the Relics to find a way for fightning Grimm, ther other race being born was a byproduct of it. Your idea is original as well, but i'm still more interested about what will happen to Grimm after the series. After the fall confirmed some kind of 'supernatural' creatures exist, so i tought they could become something similar, used for food and materials. Plus, one of my theories is that maybe the twins aren't gods, just some other entity that made humanity think they created them. With magic still being something everyone could use, but with a seal preventing them to do so.
Is it possible that the dust humans were created from mixed with the dna in the dust from animals if those were killed off with the humans the first time?
5:13 Nah I as well as others will believe the God of Darkness destroying The moon & Scatting it's pieces on Remnant Created Ruby, Summer rose, and Other Sliver eye warriors🌑🌑🌑🌑🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗🌗🌗🌘🌘🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Well firstly I had no idea about Kerry confirming the dust left behind is what is what humanity rose from. So thank you for that. However I think I would disagree on a few things. I don't believe the God of darkness has anything to do with the revival of humanity. From his own words. Magic was a gift that he and not the God of light bestowed upon humanity. And he did indeed wipe them out with the magic they used against him. But an odd detail I'd like to make is animals were made by the God of light. Yet animals also have aura. Based on the idea that aura and semblance are what remains of magic within humanity. Why do animals have it as well? I actually think that the moon may in fact be what dust is what dust is made from. We find that it is a limited resource scattered in many places that reacts with aura. Did crashing into the moon impact the fragments of the moon or were they always like that? But to get to the point about faunus. It seems to me it is more a test by the God of light. Darkness left and abandoned humanity entirely. Yet light decided to give them a chance. Tasking Ozpin with shepherding humanity and dealing with Salem. Providing the relics and making humans designed to combat the Grimm his brother left behind. I believe the faunus are something he saw to the creation of as an added test for humanity. If they can't get along with each other already. What will they do with a similar yet slightly different race blended with the very animals he created?
That would make a lot of sense, for humanity to be truly united they must overcome the differences of all the races of the world. I like that idea a lot
I've always seen Faunus as humans who had been mutated. I do like the idea that perhaps some animalistic dust mixed in with human dust, however the problem is Faunus are for all intents and purposes exactly like humans, just with a little extra. I see it similar to radiation. Exposure to radiation may cause your offspring to mutate, however the offsprings parents would die off from different cancers and diseases. Perhaps the first humans who evolved back from the dust were exposed and mutated by something else and they gave birth to faunus despite being human. Since a human and a faunus can create a fertile offspring, that means humans and faunus are the same species. It also seems like the gene that determines if you are a faunus or not is just a faunus gene, at least when breeding with humans. So I firmly believe that Humans and faunus are the same species and that faunus just carry a genetic mutation that may actually give them a power up.
I'm wondering if maybe Salem herself created faunis as an attempt to recreate humanity herself. After all she did tell Is they should just destroy humanity and replace it with something better

The dust crystals they use might be left over remains of magic from old humanity so yeah that could be the case. We don't know for sure though
