Dude, your dedication to making RWBY content during the off season is truly impressive. You're the top RWBY content creator on youtube. I wish they'd use some of your ideas.
Started video, before continuing, i'll make a guess/ sudden thought, That set of Ruins in the emerald Forest, Suddenly i feel they might be the ruins of the castle Ozpin and Salem once shared(edit) so your guess is the same as mine
I've always thought that the hallway of the old castle where Ozma and Salem had their battle looked a lot like the meeting room of Salem's current fortress.
I always had a thought and theorized that the relic that reside in Beacon Academy was where the relics were shown in Emerald Forest. Because even though Yang said “some of them are missing, so we weren’t the first ones here.” But the middle of the ruins it looks like it could open to show a staircase that goes down. To make its way into Beacon’s vault. Either that or where the Fall maiden pods were at it looked like their was darker corridors as the camera panned around while Ozpin, Glynda, Qrow and Pyrrha talked. And it seemed a whole lost darker. So maybe that the vault is like a labyrinth. Only Ozpin knows where the relic is actually located at.
The heavy influence of western fairy tales and the Wizard of Oz is what drew me to RWBY in the first place. It would be fitting for this story to end where it began so to speak. I feel silly for having not really considered who the Dorthy in this bunch is. Not sure about Glynda being related to the relic of choice, unless she is supposed to be discouraging people from using it. In volume 4 prof. Port said she was working on rebuilding, but I wouldn't be surprised if the school/forested needed to be retaken from the Grimm still. I'd be down for a 40K style combat drop back into the place the show kicked off.
I remember reading somewhere that RWBY is confirmed to be 12 volumes, but with how the volumes have been going I’m not sure that’s going to be enough for a good ending
@@goronslime1469 so what a battle takes 32 long episodes to finish and end lol. An extra Volume could make sense but your justification of 3 extra Volumes doesn't make sense also, VICTORY IS IN A MORE SIMPLER SOUL. Battles won't stop Salem. She needs to learn the importance of life and death before she can be with Ozma. Or both her and Ozma rest. Or she just... goes If they do. In the end Remnant will be destroyed.
This whole video makes me favor the idea of having the relic of choice being in the forest. It really makes sense with it being where Ozma and Salem have their kingdom and their first conflict and leading (at the time) Ozpin to use that as learning place and create Beacon Academy. Even though it may not resemble the kingdom lets keep in mind that was in Volume 1 and so much as changed and developed since then and things do change in terms of settings and their concept and finalized designs. This would be great as well as the final and climatic battle setting where the characters would return with their choices. Also, I remember in Volume 5 Ozpin (while as Oscar) tells Ruby that he made the relic more challenging to find than at the other academies. Perhaps keeping it outside the academy and in a forest that is infested with so much grimm would make it a bit of an unexpected and ironic thing for anyone, including Salem to realize.
I would say that Ozma/pin chose the emerald forest because that is were the relic is. i could see that the relics having to ability to change size as like the lamp, what if the forest is on top of the relic that is super big. that would explain why so many grimm live in the forest. As stated, grimm are attracted to the relics. Also those ruins could have been from ozma's time, as was shown, some structures were left standing when the god are darkness wiped out humanity. I would love to see primitive cave paintings of what life was like before ozma's time. when the gods 1st made made humans. furthermore, in the movie, they say follow the yellow brick road, the crown is made of gold(or gold in color), so follow the yellow metal(brick) road that is the literal relic. the best way to hide something, is to put it in plane site
This honestly sounds like a satisfying conclusion to the series. And Holy Shit, the ancient ruins being Ozpin's last connections to his previous life would be something I never considered. I always assumed they were part of the new Humans and Faunus' history for the renewed world. What if there is NO vault for the relic of choice? Or that you require the OTHER relics and the maidens to gain access to the Relic in the first place?
I was thinking the final battle would happen on Vytal where if many of the kingdoms fell, the last of their forces would unite for one final stand on the island where the Great War ended. Emerald Forest would also be a great place for a final stand and your reasons for it were great. If they don’t defeat Salem in that forest, maybe it could make a good place to visit one last time before the series ends?
I figured they would have to return to Beacon academy at some point because they didn't get the relic under Beacon. Ozpin said he made it more difficult to obtain. The fact that Salem's forces didn't even seem to try to get it suggest you need the other three relics to unlock the one under Beacon.
I can get behind it's thoery. Personal, I believe final out come be on island call, viytal sets between sea northeast of Vale, south of Atlas and, west of Mistral or, more west Agros. I also believe that where Salem grimm base is, which would explain how her mentions move throughout remnant so fast because, the island sets between the three kingdoms.
One crucial thought, I find that some characters split a fairy tale counterpart between them or an Individual having multiple counterparts which is why I say that "Oscar" would be part Dorothy since he has the farmer background and lives with his aunt. Oscar also ran away from home like Dorothy, but since Ruby has the dog, the character of Dorothy would be split between the two. Also Oscar = Jack since Hazel = Giant from "Jack and the Bean Stalk"
Could the Emerald Forest be hiding the Relic of Choice? Is that the little something Ozpin did to make it more difficult? Could the underground chamber lead all the way to beneath the forest?
I think Salem evicted Ozpin from her current castle evernight and just rebuilt it. She's got Grimm, those things would have evernight castle up and running in no time.
Hey so in one of your earlier videos you talked about how the first question to djinn was possibly asked by summer rose. So i kinda expanded upon that idea and theorised that maybe the team summer, raven, qrow and yangs father (i dont remember his name) symbolise the 4 relics. Summer is relic of knowledge, qrow is relic of destruction (unluckiness and stuff), yangs that is the relic of choice (by the fact that he chose a simpler life instead of continuing to fight) and raven the relic of creation (because those two are the last ones left unmatched :D). You know more that I do about this series so you may find a connection there. Or maybe there is some reason that my theory cant be true in which case I would like to hear that reason too. I dont know if you find this theory interesting enough to make a video about but I would love some responses from you in any shape or form.
another point in favor of ruby being dorothy is that it wouldnt be the first time a character has represented two things, with Salem being both the wicked witch and seemingly rapunzel (princess-like-figure trapped in tower), and Ozpin being both the wizard of oz and princess ozma
This makes me wonder if the choice shown by the Relic of Choice is really random. I wonder what Salem would see. But back to the Emerald Forest, in the Emerald City each of Dorothy's companions got something; The Scarecrow a brain, the Tinman a heart, and the Cowardly Lion courage. This fits really well with these characters in RWBY, and this is why I hope Leo is not dead or gets a replacement. I think that each of these characters will be there for the final battle, and make a choice. Maybe we will see Qrow finally get everything through his thick skull. Maybe Ironwood will make a more compassionate choice, and maybe the lion, whoever it is, will show their courage.
A bit off topic, but thinking about the initiation/team selection in the Emerald Forest made me think about whether we'll ever find out how the other academies select teams. Do/did Ironwood, Lionheart, and Theodore do something similar to what Ozpin did, or do they have completely different systems? Probably it won't come up for Ironwood, but I think we might get a window into the Haven system in Before the Dawn, since the inner workings of Team SSSN seem like they're going to be an important plot point. If, for example, Sun got appointed the leader without any input from the team (similar to how Ozpin appoints leaders), that could certainly be a lead-in for when Scarlet and Sage start voicing grievances against him.
I always thought Blake as Schrodiggers' cat. Always being able to follow another path instead of falling victim to a mistake she made in one moment. Any how, If the Emerald forest is an indication of something THAT BIG had occurred I don't doubt it. Though, I feel to a certain degree, it's too on the nose to me at least.
I have a theory that the crown of choice will be based off the headband worn by Sun Wukong in journey to the west. I did some research on different headgear from mythology and this one stood out not only because Sun is a character in the show but the headband was specifically designed to control the Monkey King. It fits the criteria perfectly for a crown of choice. (And also it's heavily hinted that Blake will be the fall maiden in the future)
If the Emerald Forest is Ozma's former castle, it is possible he chose this location to remind of the first thing he lost in this fight against Salem; His daughters.
If Emerald is a reference to the Emerald City due to her name and illusion semblance, that could actually help in playing into a possible "redemption arc" for her. If you remember from the Wizard of Oz story, the illusions eventually stopped fooling Dorothy and her friends and the truth of things came to light. We saw how this was applied in Volume 6 when the main characters found out what Ozpin was hiding from them. This can also be applied to Emerald herself. Emerald lives in her own illusion where Cinder, someone who took her in and she looks up to, actually cares about her. The scenario can be applied in which at some point, Emerald will no longer be able to fool herself into thinking that Cinder actually cares for her. She will be forced to finally have to face the truth and reality of things.
I think glenda goodwitch is the 4th maiden. Based off her 1st appearance. What was she fighting with? I saw no weapon, but she summoned energy and used it....much like we have seen other maidens do. Just a theory
do you think we'll actually get to see glinda again? Wasn't there some fallout between the voice actor and the creators and they haven't recast the part yet,
We might. They fired/let go of Glynda's VA but they can always hire another. It might be awhile, or maybe they just haven't announced they hired a new VA yet. We still have to finish the Atlas arc yet and Vacuo.
I've always been convinced that the story would go back to Beacon if not ending there. What you said about the Emerald Forest makes too much sense, it reinforces my impression. But I think we could go back to Beacon "sooner", meaning in V9. Because right after the Atlas "disaster" (let's face it, V8 is gonna be worse than Beacon), it makes no sense to get right to Vacuo (even less the Dragon Continent) but more sense to stop by Beacon before going to Vacuo. I think V9 will be that transition, from Atlas to Beacon (get the Relic of Choice) and then from Beacon to Vacuo (to get the Relic of Destruction). Also, little request I have, please don't talk too much (as you did well here) about your current theory about the Relic of Choice (mainly build on the leaked page from the Fairytales of Remnant book). I chose not to watch your related video because I wish to go blind about this. So just referencing your theory without spoiling it would be great. You already often do this and you did it here too so thank you but I really insist :) I really don't want to get spoiled about the Relic of Choice (I think it is one of the cornerstone of the show if not the biggest and that it is immensely powerful).
I really want them in the FINAL FINAL FINAL battle like the year end volume battle I really want them to have their final battle in the emerald forest, It would be really nice to have those memories that they all trained together in that forest and before they have the final battle they remember those memories and fight as if it’s there last
Let's not forget that Emerald Forest was where the journey of team JNPR began. Of course Nora and Ren were already partners and would've done everything to make sure they stay together regardless of who whey would be working with, it was here that Jaune and Pyrrha chose to work together. Whether whats left of JNPR will survive to return to the forest is up to the choices they make. My money's on at least one member of team JNPR will make it back with RWBY to Emerald Forest (probably Juane).
And not only The Wizard of Oz (TWO). It does refer to The Wizard of the Emerald City (TWEC) (a re-narration of TWO) too, in witch Bastinda (=The Witch of the West) controlled flying monkeys. Actually there is a connection (or a hint) of Emerald forest (and the also emerald-haired antigonist Emerald) and the title of TWEC.
Am I the only one that always saw Oscar as Dorothy, gender bending the fairytales is a common thing especially looking at team jnpr and oscar even fought along side them practically as a new member to the team so its no stretch at all. Oscar started off with no importance at all just living with his aunt on a farm and then got tossed into the story of Oz whether he liked it or not then set off into his journey where he meets his first ally on the road in Qrow, sounds familiar if you ask me. I get that you can write him off as just the next wizard but let's not forget Oscar is distinctly different from Ozpin whether they now share the same body or not.
My personal hope is that the other oz books become part of the RWBY universe as well, I think that the grimm can be similar to the gnomes and that there could be a grimm king that has lived since before the first humans. My reason for hoping this is because the Grimm are suppose to play the main enemy of the story but so far they have been seen as nothing more than Salems troops. They are portrayed much better in the novels then in the actual show in my opinion.
how different do you think the story would be if the teams were different wiess, ruby, jaun and phyraa yang, black, ren and nora how different could things bee if the teams switched loke this, or switcehd completely
I've been thinking that we're gonna have a return to Beacon for a while now, and part of that story happening in the Forest very much appeals to me. I don't see Em having anything to do with this - her connection to gems is just the Aladdin "diamond in the rough" thing. As for Theodore... we haven't seen either of the remaining two Witches, have we, hm?
I just realized something. There are 2 wicked witches. The wicked witch of the west (Salem) and the wicked witch of the east who was killed by Dorothy‘s house. We know that Salem is the witch of the west, so who is the witch of the east? Maybe you could make a vid speculating who that could possibly be?
There also a witch of the north and south, Glenda goodwitch is the witch in the south. There are 4 witches all together. The witched witch in the East and west were sisters
To add the inspiration to Ozpin and Salem, in the movie "Oz the Great and Powerful" Oscar (possible reference to Oscar Pine) had an affair with the Wicked Witch of the West when she was pure (if I remember correctly)
Am I the only one that thinks team RWBY is also a projection of the wizard of OZ, as in each is a character from that story.
Yang - is the scarecrow; she has learned to fight smarter, similarly as the scarecrow wanted a brain

Idc if they become gender bent, as long as it fits in the story. Like it isn’t a social justice narrative being pushed in my face.
JNPR is literally genderbent fairytales. Joan D'arc, Thor, Achilles and Mulan.
It could also be a reference to "Theodora", a name used by the Wicked Witch, but I doubt that's what they were going for.

what if the relic of choice has the power to change form. it can turn into what ever form it choose
But wasn’t her circlet forged into Juane’s shield? So wouldn’t that make his shield a relic
Take a good hard look at her crown vs the one we saw in volume 6, they're nothing alike.
@@vesi7993
1, 2, 3 = Vale Arc
4, 5, 6 = Mistral Arc
7, 8, 9 = Atlas Arc
10, 11, 12 = Vacuo Arc
15 seasons seems more appropriate
@@goronslime1469 the 3 other volumes would be filler so no.
@@SEELE-1946 the final three would be the final battle the race for the last relic
Oh wow, thought Oscar represented Dorthy ;-;
Oscar is luke skywalker, did you not see him fall down the tube
Where did you get that shirt I need it
What if Dorothy is actually represented by Summer Rose?
And Ruby just represents the slippers and “home” to Summer.
I always thought that best boy Oscar was supposed to be Dorothy but you definitely changed my mind
I also believe that where Salem grimm base is, which would explain how her mentions move throughout remnant so fast because, the island sets between the three kingdoms.
damn! You always make such good arguments and points!!
What if Dorothy was a separate important girl that Ruby had to take back home, this being in the emerald forest
what if its emerald herself
What if summer was dorothy and the whole wizard of oz story has already played out
One crucial thought, I find that some characters split a fairy tale counterpart between them or an Individual having multiple counterparts which is why I say that "Oscar" would be part Dorothy since he has the farmer background and lives with his aunt.
An interesting theory to say the least. Nice work.
I think Salem evicted Ozpin from her current castle evernight and just rebuilt it. She's got Grimm, those things would have evernight castle up and running in no time.
and no one will have back pain
I think if Theodore turns out to be short he could represent the munchkins.
another point in favor of ruby being dorothy is that it wouldnt be the first time a character has represented two things, with Salem being both the wicked witch and seemingly rapunzel (princess-like-figure trapped in tower), and Ozpin being both the wizard of oz and princess ozma
Just thought of something why didn't ozpin use the relic of creation to create the other relics again or is it stated somewhere that it's not allowed
I would like to mention that Tyrian symbolizes the flying monkeys that take Dorothy away as he helps Salem and tries to bring Ruby to her.
my guy deserves way more subs
I think it’s pretty obvious that Theodore is dorthy get it ? Theodorthy? I think that’s who he is I also think oscar is inspired by dorthy
Also I would wager a large amount of money that the Sword of Destruction is Excalibur.
If the Emerald Forest is Ozma's former castle, it is possible he chose this location to remind of the first thing he lost in this fight against Salem;
His daughters.
is there also a match where u can put robin in
Or Dorothy could have been Summer ? She seemed to trust and be on Ozpin's side.
Yay RWBY CONTENT
You said you hope RWBY goes on that long.
Uh.... with all the drama at Rooster Teeth right now, I'll be amazed if Vol8 even comes out....
I really hope it continues, I'm too invested in the story now. I want to see how it ends.
do you think we'll actually get to see glinda again?
Ok
You've convinced me
Go on.....
Salem's castle also looks similar to the castle that Salem and Ozma shared before it was destroyed by them both.
Got the notification 50 MINUTES AFTER the vid was released. This is the worst day of my life ever
Well, from what I saw in the volume 6 flashbacks, I thought that Salem's castle is the remains of the kingdom that Ozma and Salem ruled.
As they say. The end is where we begin
I certainly hope JNR will be involved with all this
My personal hope is that the other oz books become part of the RWBY universe as well, I think that the grimm can be similar to the gnomes and that there could be a grimm king that has lived since before the first humans. My reason for hoping this is because the Grimm are suppose to play the main enemy of the story but so far they have been seen as nothing more than Salems troops. They are portrayed much better in the novels then in the actual show in my opinion.
Nice also I c Pyrrha returning I just know it
Ruby has zwei and Dorothy has a dog to
Headmaster of Shade academy could be a dog faunus to reference Toto.
Who is Raven referencing btw?
how different do you think the story would be if the teams were different
wiess, ruby, jaun and phyraa
yang, black, ren and nora
how different could things bee if the teams switched loke this, or switcehd completely
DO REACTIONS TO VOLUME 8!!! i want to see you cry and be in pain >:)
I feel as if Emerald may become the fall maiden after cinder dies. Then she has to unlock the secret of the Emerald forest.
What if the crown of choice is under where the chest peices were in Volume 1
I've been thinking that we're gonna have a return to Beacon for a while now, and part of that story happening in the Forest very much appeals to me.
I don't see Em having anything to do with this - her connection to gems is just the Aladdin "diamond in the rough" thing.
As for Theodore... we haven't seen either of the remaining two Witches, have we, hm?
If ironwood lowered Atlas back to Remnant and lifted Amity Coliseum with the Relic of Creation things would go smoother.
Theodore is basically a bad anagram of Dorothy.
A very bad anagram, Y E ??
@@themoonisnotreal6291 Theodore, Dorothee.
Screw Cinder, once Salem learned she doesn't need Fall Maiden to unlock vault, I can see betrayal will start off for maiden powers.
The witched witch in the East and west were sisters
i'm willing to bet that the witch of the east is cinder
To add the inspiration to Ozpin and Salem, in the movie "Oz the Great and Powerful" Oscar (possible reference to Oscar Pine) had an affair with the Wicked Witch of the West when she was pure (if I remember correctly)
I always kinda thought Pyrrha was supposed to be Dorothy in this analogy.
"Team RWBY". Never thought I'll be sad hearing this word
Oscar is Dorothy thO, he even has ruby boots ...
