F150 2022 PowerBoost Hybrid. While other folks say I was unfair, nobody has said "mine is 10 years old and still going strong." I don't think these are worth it.
I've had the cheap version from Harbor Freight like that for many years and neve had a problem with it. I have a plastic bed liner in my truck which helps the tarp slide easier, so I can load more than a ton on mine and still crank it off (they're rated at 2000 lbs.) Some people must just have bad luck and get a bad one. If it cranks too hard, you are probably over loaded.
People say that I didn't give the bed liner a fair chance. Too much weight. Not on slick liner. All true, but for me it was not practical. I ended up buying a farm built dump trailer made of an old GMC truck bed. Another advantage is that using a bucket around my new trucks was just too 'denty, scratchy, dangerous.'
I don't think you realize how heavy sand is. One yard is 2400 - 2800 pounds. Plus you admitted the strap was loose and on improperly. I have one of these and it works great.
I received several comments saying I overstressed the design of the unloader - and that is likely true. I am really hard on equipment and tools. I recently just went and bought an old school scissor lift dump truck from a converted GMC pickup. Appreciate your input and thanks for joining in the discussion.
Could u share you truck make and model to help others
