We use one of the with 2 face cord bags on pallets. Works awesome (may need to replace a tailgate every year) and load 2/3 cord in 3 min in the woodyard unload in 3 min to the customer. Can also be used for 2 separate deliveries by adding slack in the tarp between bags.
I got one of these for unloading dirt in the yard, and I must say i used it twice so far for 1/2 a yard of dirt and it worked for that. I got a loader to put the yard of dirt in the bed. It did seem like it was struggling with that weight of dirt unloading. I think its good for my use, which is just dumping dirt in a location. For me I give it a 8/10, mainly because it doesnt fit snug on my 21 toyota tacoma
I want to tell you something. The best of your channel is your Honesty. Love it. The world is dominated by BS and you are definitely not one of them. Keep up the good work my friend
Chris the tarp works best when it’s on a bed liner or something slippery. I cut a sheet of plywood length wise so it spanned over both wheel wells. If you had a bed liner the plywood would sit in the groove and hold it in place.
You have a bedliner that grabs and you didn't customize your bed, therefore you failed. Can I have it? Put down plywood or vinyl tarp for a better frictionless effect. I put down tarps when I don't have it on and rope handles on the tarp to pull off. You are funny and like my brother who I love! He saves me lots of money because he gives me his failed products and then I make them work. Your are great I swear, because I am writing this and listened to you and laughing and thinking about my brother. Like him your wife's demeanor speaks volumes of your wonderful character! Thank you, now I am going to buy another one of these for my 2023 RhinoLined bed (GMC X31 Sierra) and stop by Costco to get a designated tarp for dumping. Oh yeah, I also going to call my brother! Thank you again!
I have an reloaded that I used for over five years. What I found is to roll it an extra few feet and run it up to your back window. That has helped some. My first truck was an a wool h which had the thicker trailgate
Too bad that didn't work for you.. Funny thing was I was watching your video today (2/9/2022) and thought why you don't use something like this or put a dump bed in or on the bed... I searched for the product, then searched the product on TH-cam, and it brought me right back to you testing it and marking it Failed. LOL Oh well. I wood have tried to tweak it a little bit more, not giving up on it so soon.. but that's just me. Seems like there should be some sort of answer to the problem of touching the wood so much. Love your channel. Thanks for share what you do.
I used a 2" x 2" piece of wood where you have that dowel ( I used several screws to hold it onto the tarp) to pull all the material off the truck (I haul black dirt/gravel) When I pull out the tarp, the wood fits between the cab and the box so it stays put while loading. You should just use a cheap plastic tarp under your unloader tarp so it slides easier!
I couldn’t wait for this video. You know my thoughts on these “magic carpets” from the first video you did 👎 Aladdin couldn’t make that thing fly! Glad this adventure is in the books!
I got the same result. So, I did this. Secured inside boards the full length of the bed. Used a 4x4 instead of your dowel to catch all the wood, and the 4x4 doesn't need to be strapped around the shaft after unloading. Replaced the crank handle with an electric boat trailer winch. Ran a rope from the 4x4 through a pully at the front of the bed back to the rear, then release the winch break and pull the rope to unwind the tarp when it's time to reload. Now the wood comes to me as fast as I can unload and stack it. And I never need to break at the waste. Except when driving to the next stop. By the end of the day, you will wish you had a motor control on that winch to slow it down a so you don't have to reach over and completely stop it while you're stacking. You wouldn't think reaching over to turn it on and off a few times would be a big deal, but it interrupts the wood from being in the perfect position right at your hands nonstop. It also requires a change in body position. It's a serious hitch in your gitty-up.
@@InTheWoodyard I don't think it's going to last very long. We will see. It would be very expensive to make one that would. Basically a complete re-engineering from jump with better materials.
Chris, I read all the comments and then watched the video. If you are stacking for customer, then the extra time in setting up saves you (and your back) having to pick it up from the floor to stack it once you have thrown it out of the truck. The dowel is a great shout and your set up time will get quicker. If you are are just throwing it out from the truck for your customers to stack, I can’t see the benefit. Just my thoughts 💭
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 Things never work as well as they are clame they do. You know why people break out their back windows. Interesting video!!! I agree, probably not worth the hassle. A good pickeroon or hookeroon to unload the hard to reach stuff, or a kid to put the far away wood closer to the tailgate is best.
Is that the unloader you get at Northern Tool? Thanks for all the modifications tips. I will definitely use some of them because I'm about to purchase one to help move a small amount of bulk crushed stone. Have you tried using it again or did ya just junk it?
To make the bed slippery glue a plastic wallboard to a sheet of plywood from Home Depot and use that as the base to put the materials on. Make sure you use the smooth side of the wallboard.
The dowel will help but you are supposed to run the fabric all the way up the back of the box and tuck it between the box and cab. That way you will get the tail end of the wood or materials as well.
Watched the video start to finish. But when you say unload usually in 4 minutes does that include stacking? If not im curious what the apples to apples comparison would be
No, I don't stack unless I am paid to....just unloading. The cargo unloader is more work and takes longer to stack the wood perfectly in the bed for unloading
Oh my, it's a rain day! What do you do on rain days? I'm excited because even though I can't work too much outside, the relatively warm rain should warm up Mother Nature's frosty attitude sooner so I can get up a steep hill with my trailer to bring back loads of wood.
Interesting. So the bed unloaded did work as shown on the videos but, it didn’t make the job easier for you. That is a very useful observation. I want to use this for mulch and gravel so it might be more helpful for these purposes. One question though. If you use your truck for lots of deliveries, couldn’t you set it up in a more permanent way? That way you don’t injure extra set up time. I love your dowel rod idea. I do this to the ends of my tarps and cargo nets sometimes to make them more manageable.
@@InTheWoodyard I have used one for years and love it. Have not used it for firewood. I saw one review where the guy put a piece of plywood down each side next to the wheel well to prevent the wood getting caught . Probably would decrease the size of the load, but I think it would all unload.

Not sure I agree with the rating. It was not an be all end all but it does have some value. How much extra time does it take to add the two pieces of wood to the wheel wells and unroll the mat? Wouldnt pitching all of the wood from the bed, and then picking it up again and stacking it taken more time? It did save the physical labor of pitching 100+ pieces of wood and the wood would be consolidated when using the mat. Why is this item so bad besides perhaps taking a little more time , and not being perfect?
Time is the most important factor for me and if I have to do a bunch of other special loading and unloading steps and techniques it kinda defeats the purpose.

@@InTheWoodyard well maybe not right now cause you just started using it. I say give it a week cause with everything else it takes time to get used to it.
Haven't watched this yet and the title is a bit of a giveaway, BUT, I don't think it's gonna matter what you put on the sides, the amount of friction from any portion of the firewood transferred from the sides is going to overwhelm the friction co-efficient of the slippery tarp. ...Well, it worked better than I thought prolly because of the catcher on the end.
It's a piece of crap made for the Ohio Woodburner & Outdoor With the Morgan guys... lol All that time waste means Money missed! continue to do what you do brother!

I watched a couple videos I figured it was a piece of 💩but good to see a review I'm thinking about trying one but just for hauling mulch might work ok ...
You may be better off with a over sized tarp for your bed. If it’s too heavy you can use a rake to get most out and pull the tarp out as you go. I do it this way for mulch, dirt, class 5 and leaves. It works well, very little left behind. I have used a medium duty tarp.

If I took more time to load neatly it would work better.
17:35 +1 for the appreciation of the sound of wood
Yup, that sound is awesome!
Now you see why-my truck Dumps! Lol🪵👍🏼🇱🇷
YES! Your truck is awesome!
the unloader is saving your back.
Maybe but my back is great and my time is very important to me.
It's a piece of crap made for the Ohio Woodburner & Outdoor With the Morgan guys... lol All that time waste means Money missed! continue to do what you do brother!
Well, for me it had better work or I will tell everyone, if it does not work, I will tell everyone.
Some clever marketing person can be proud they created a non solution for a non problem and managed to make some money from it.
Yup, some gadgets are, gadgets.
It's your party you can dance if you want to!
I have strict orders from my wife and daughter to not dance, ever, it has something to do with their eyes burning and people calling 911, so I don't.
2.5 is higher than I thought you'd give it!!
HA! Thanks David!
Well at least you got a $50 tarp to cover your wood with haha
I think I might have found a sucker to buy it, my brother!!!!
My concern would be how long it would last before it tears apart from hole damage
For mulch, dirt , grass, leaves it would be okay, not so much for firewood.
I agree the lighter material it would probably work awesome. But firewood and stone a no go.
Everyone is an expert on how you should run your business. I did accidentally throw an oak block through rear window of my truck back in 2013.
That's okay, sometimes they give me something to try I have not thought of.
Yes, give it to your brother, and do vid on his evaluation, it will be entertaining and I bet it will be burned in the middle of his wood yard following lol!
That's the plan!
Good lesson and you only wasted $50, only $50?
Yes, now I know!
Piece of crap for firewood unless you take 15 extra minutes to strategically place every piece in the right spot! 👎👎 On the product! 👍🏻👍🏻 On the vid! GNI
Yes for fast production it's not for me.
What about the light above the rear window. ???? Hehe. You need to put a hydraulic dump box inside the factory box. !!!
Not worried about the light! Yes a dump box would be nice!
INSTALL A DUMP BED IN YOUR TRUCK WOOD BE A GOOD MOD THEY SELL KITS FOR IT BUT I DONT CARE IF U DO OR YOU DONE JUST LET U NO THEY MAKE AND KEEP DOING WHAT WORK BESR FOR U
Not recommended on a 1/2 ton, also $2000+++
Thank God that's over with.Lol. Beaver set video please.
I take that back this a wood yard channel.mice only.dont 💩 on Chris's Wood.
Soon!
@@InTheWoodyard Really? AWESOME
LOL Yep Chris you definitely don’t play games like Mike.
No, only the facts.
Run the tarp all the way up the front bed wall to your tonneau cover. Do one last test, I'll bet you fifty bucks it's faster than the current process.
Michael
Yes a few others suggested that too, I'll give it a try!
Ok I gotta new idear for ya... what if you stapled a 2x6 and some wheels on that cab end of the sheet, then foamed in a bulkhead on each side w super slick paint surface, then... nah, screw it. just chuck the the thing.
I like the last idea the best!
I stand by my last comment on this equipment about depositing it in a tall garbage can however it looks like Joe's Premium Firewood is interested in one. Maybe you could make back at least part of your $50.
Now that I customized it the value has increased a lot!!!
going ton HF is like going to VEGAS. only good thing about HF is there return policy
Ya, most of what they sell is crap.
Maybe get a dump box on the yoda
That is an option, but that is not a cheap option.
Good try, oh well. Hey watch that rear window, don’t y’a know that you could bust it out? -Brad
I think I am going to bust it on purpose just for views!
If you squirt some dish detergent on your bed it will slide better
Maybe so but I use it everyday and I would need a 5 gallon bucket of soap! Ha!! Thanks for watching!
🤘
Thanks!!!
Yes if you are hauling dirt or leaves or mulch and load it only in the middle it would work.
Yes, I have used a tarp for leaves and mulch before and it worked good.
Your customer's voice... You should have her do your voice over to give Manitowoc Minute a run for his money.
Ya dar hey she cooda!
I think you should give the guy a little more wood cause it took you so long to get it to him.......Ha ha ha ha!!!!
I give a little extra a lot.
We should all send you five dollars for saving us money 👍😂
That is the best idea yet!
Work harder not smarter .
I work hard AND smart, this is a piece of crap.
NO WE NOT HAPPY YET NEED GRILL FOR TAIL LITE WAS AND WAX THE TRUCK BOTH IN SIDE OUT SIDE AND UNDER THE TRUCK AND DETAIL THE TRACKER SAW AND THE WOOD SLITTER AND SAD SOOTH ALL THE FIRE WOOD LOL THEN MAYBE WE BE HAPPY LOL KEEP UP DOING GREAT VIDS AND DO IT YOUR WAY Y I WATCH EVER ONEDOSE STUFF DIFFEN GOOD WAY TO LEARN AND HAVE FUN
Thanks for watching Mr. LOW!
Good morning Joe from Ohio wood burner has one and he said that it works great
That’s because he’s too old to crawl up in his truck bed.
I think Joe is 52, I am almost 59.... just sayin'.
Yes Doug I got one because he said it was great.
WHAT NO GOLD PLALED WOOD
nope
So......What you're saying is the piece of crap is still a piece of crap!!!??
Exactly!
looks like it worked great to me. I would totally use it.
Nope, it takes to much time to set up the wood just right.
@@InTheWoodyard just leave the junk that doesn't come off in the truck. Leave the kit on permanently. I guess we need to see you empty in the 3 minutes sometime to compare.
or install something like a Titan Side Bed Wheel Well Toolbox on each side. you can put your hookaroon in there.
Ok now we know that we don’t know for your situation. I will ban the the word or jokes involving needs for you. But if I do please continue your sarcasm in some other way it’s entertaining.
Stan, that will not be a problem I am a bit of a smart a$$, so my wife says!
@@InTheWoodyard thanks. It’s fun trying to tell if your hating or laughing at this stuff.
Atta boy, toss it!
Ya, I guess I am a tosser!
