  • I added a winch to the cargo unloader to make the unloading process easier.
    The winch I used was from Amazon. Here is a link to it. amzn.to/2sQ8Zwo

    LOL I was thinking now he needs to convert a motor jack into a bucket arm and you mention maybe....I had a similar idea for the unloader but I was thinking gears and a chain with the motor mounted to the bumper. Your idea is a less complicated and certainly works.. I used to drive 10-14 wheel dumptrucks , spreading is a neat trick to master..one driveway I carried 3 loads of gravel and rocks to ended up as my sons bf's (my #1 notson) house... That small water fall /cascade crossing your drive is gorgeous! Im sure a video of just that short stretch of creek would get tons of hits

      @lukeFugate  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've seen some truck drivers spread gravel so even we didn't even have to work it down. I guess it does take some practice. I could set up a camera down by the creek and just let it run for a while. It's a relaxing sound.

    If you have a wired trailer hitch, you can run a trailer wire plug to power the winch. So it can power it turning on your headlights.

      Good suggestion! I would have to up the wire size and fuse, but it would work. Thanks!

    Damn good thinking. I was thinking something similar. But I was looking at welding a socket or nut 🔩 to the end and just slapping a drill or impact on it.

    Great Idea...But I would definitely find a way to divert the water.. Anyone around there got a tractor you could use to get the stone in..
    I have trouble with my driveway whenever it rains..Water runs down the hill and washes all stone out..

      I'm not sure of the material. It is some type of plastic. It is like the material used for trampolines.

    I wonder if it would be useful to use an impact wrench?

    • @lukeFugate
      @lukeFugate  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried an impact on it and it would just barely move it. I think if I hadn't stopped after a few seconds it would have broken the nut off the end. An impact is good for loosening bolts but not so much for very high torque just turning something.

    I would put a trench and install a culvert for that road

    • @lukeFugate
      @lukeFugate  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be great, except the culvert would be over a quarter of a mile long and at least five or six feet diameter. It would be expensive for my budget.

    you could just use a milwaukee impact probably

    • @lukeFugate
      @lukeFugate  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be worth a try. I tried my Neiko impact on it and it wouldn't budge it. One problem I could see with a Milwaukee would be that the impacts on the hollow pipe would end up twisting it in two. I like the fact I can unload it from inside the cab. Very handy to spread the load out some to make it easier.

  • @subixbarbarasson6052

    Have you ever thought about building a kontinuos belt? Like getting another HF dump unloader and sewing it to the other? That way you wouldn't need to reset it. I'm getting one next weekend and I love your motor idea. I realize it woulod probably just slip without wrapping but still..... ;)
    The reason being, iive in Kommiforniastan and putting a real dump set up on my trukk komplikates insurance etc here. I mean everything is retarded in my state.
    Also, does the winch free spool when you want to reset your drag tarp?

    • @lukeFugate
      @lukeFugate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the continuous belt idea would work. It would require several rollers in the middle of the belt to support it. With the rollers it would probably dump the load much easier and be better for the winch motor.
      This one does not free spool I take it off the nut to allow it to unwind.
