Good info! I have only bred BN plecos, ancistrus cirrhosus - Well, they just kind of did it on their own! I never take away the spawn or remove the fry to another place just one BIG happy family,
But to induce spawning, I have also found if it first recreate "winter" IE less water changes, less light, less food, this done over several weeks, {unplug you heater, if you use one}, then after 4 weeks - I start feeding better foods, small meals but more often, but 6-8 wks, bring up the light, start the 50% water changes, keep up the feeding..... they spawn every time!
I let them spawn for a period of time each year and then break that up, or I would be over run with BN plecos! Taking away the caves does not always work with experienced breeding fish, with some wisdom.... they FIND a way to make more babies!

Yeah I've done that before, the dad just keeps kicking them out.
where do u get the starlight plecos from?
I forget all the places, but all of them were through online years ago. Aquabid, ebay and freshwater exotics to name a few.

mine bred in a 75 with some cichlids, the babies are now on the walls of the cave should i wait until they start moving to put them on another tank with dad or just with the babies?@@PurelyAquatic
@@denisgonzalezblandon1538 Once they free swim, you can move them into another tank without the dad. You only need the dad when its eggs.

How did you trigger l397? Did you mix ro with tap water? What is the water TDs ?
All my plecos are in the same system, so just cold water change and temp ramp back to 78F. I don't mix any RO with my tap because its already ~80-100 TDS.
