2:50 - Rishab Pant's break of play I saw the recap of the match, and it wasn't fake/ planned. Remember, he has had a massive accident and has gone through rehab & recovery. The last ball of the Bumrah over, he takes a tumbling dive to catch the ball thrown back at the stumbs. It was after this, he needed the physio.
He wanted to get rid of spin bowling as soon as possible in my opinion. Keeping Axar more later would have been nerve racking too if Bumrah overs didn't go as planned.

India looked like they had choked. 😰 The WC was SA's to win with ease. Then the following happened to the run rate: 16th over: Bowler: Jasprit Bumrah: 4 runs 17th over : Bowler: Hardik Pandya: 4 runs 18th over: Bowler: Jasprit Bumrah: 2 runs 19th over: Bowler: Arshdeep Singh:4 runs 20th over : Bowler: Hardik Pandya: 8 runs Those final 5 overs, are the greatest Death Bowling of WC history. India strangled the SA run rate whilst taking key wickets, including a magnificent boundary catch. Getting Klassen out, who looked super dangerous..... & also Miller wickets were key .....as was Jansen. That boundary catch was critical. Whilst staring into the jaws of certain defeat, India grabbed the most incredible victory.

I hope Future Indian t20 teams are ruthless and absolutely win the world cups every 2nd year.. With resources India have.. We should be having no competition.
India don't have a divine right to win anything.
We need to earn it.
How do you win Cups with "resources". Do you mean better players?
I was Harmison when I saw Axar with the bowl in the 14th, and lost hope when it went for 24 runs.
Not against south Africa choker

Take a BOW 🙏🏾 & BIG SALUTE for LEGENDS OF THE GAME .💯🌟💥❤️👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
It would be unfair to South Africa if we called this a choke. They played a brilliant game of cricket. This wasn’t choke. Indian pace bowlers and especially Bumrah were just too good. There was an obvious difference between how South Africa played Indian spinners versus how they played Indian pacers.
If 26 put 28 is not choke what is choking 😂 good bowlers Woll be there I'm international cricket u have to score run Al ball don't write anything will u say sane if india lost why don't u say this went Indian lost in odi final wc
@@rajsub3884fools like you never played cricket will say this , how many world cup finals you played chapri? Do you know the preassure of a college level tournament finals. Stfu
@@rajsub3884 But with 6 wickets in hand and 26 runs to win literally any team can win that with just going run a ball..... they choked is what it is..... Keshav maharaj wasting few balls and they didn't even rotate strike in those last 4 overs.... cmon you still have 6 wickets in hand and you are going for big shots like you wanna be a HERO when it is literally run a ball. they could have easily got the required runs to less than 10 runs in last over instead of 16 if they didnt go for long shots kept nerves and played singles or doubles. CHOKED BIG TIME IS WHHAT THAT WAS. Cmon they still had 3 wickets in hand in last ball

India snatched victory from the jaws of defeat
It is India era begins in cricket
❤🏏🧜♂️........surely it was a very close and tense Final,,,,,,,,,,,,,Brave Indians Held Their Nerve & 🏆 Won Great Game.....T20 WC 24🧿🌹🌻
I haven't seen such a great bowling in last five overs of a t20 Or any final. ❤great bowling with great control n skill
To be fair both the teams played superbly throughout the tournament, and the Final match too. The Final progressed mostly evenly to the end. But India had that critical edge. This game was also a wonderful demonstration of “catches win matches” and we could witness a few incredible ones. Well done India 🇮🇳
That was a choke for the ages orchestrated by a bowler for the ages.
Just when you think you have seen all the magic from Bumrah, he produces another otherworldly performance.
And what a nerveless spell at the end from Arshdeep and Hardik alongwith that super catch from Sky and the sheer class of Kohli.
A wonderful tournament lit up by the performances of the so called minnows including Afghanistan and Scotland and fittingly won by the best team at the moment.
If Klaasen is not in SA team, they would have bundled for 150 !!
Calling it a choke takes away from the good performance India put in on those specific moments. Even with 2 balls to go, SA could have won it, but the catch of SKY was the final swing in the game.
Hard to beat the drama of NZ v England 2019 final, Ben Stokes, the last man standing. This was a great final though, it could have gone either way.
Thank you team India🇮🇳😢😢😢😢
If not for bumbrah india no chance he is the best bowler india has ever got hope he becomes the future bowling coach of india
I hope Harmison is now satisfied with the World Cup
The final was good - the rest was generally poor.
THAT 18TH OVER FROM BUMRAH NEEDS TO BE PRESERVED AND STUDIED . EVERY BALL WAS A THING OF ART
So many reviews of this epic match on TH-cam. As an Indian I don't get tired of watching them all - but this is the best - the most intelligent and erudite. Congratulations, gentlemen
India was the best team they deserve the world cup. Great team .
What a match. Absolutely great 👍
There's no way SA should of lost from that position with your 2 gun batters set...very poor thinking by Miller not taking dwn ashdeep on the 19th over...klaasen could've take couple balls to reset after that tactical delay
2007 Ind Pak T20 final was also great. It shows that when India plays finals it turns out to be a truely awesome ocassion.
So nice of the Indian team to break harmison’s heart. The world cup was a given in a plate for England and Australia . Still Indian won. Heartburn for the colonial brats.
This is just a beginning.. a lot of trophies coming now.. 🇮🇳 ❤❤❤
Yeah right mate, you guys were so lucky to scrape through today and if Australia didn't bowl so many pies and drop so many catches they would have won
@@jehanariyaratnam2874mate, there's something ugly in your shirt. Oh, it's you!
Thank you Harmison!!! Amen ❤️ btw that spell to the Aussies in the ashes is still one of the best I’ve ever seen!
2007 final was also a nailbiter
Western media loves to bash BCCI out of pure jealousy as the power center of World Cricket has shifted out of England and Australia. Truth - Indian 🇮🇳 players have worked hard to make it to the top. SA did not choke.
Western media doesn't even talk about this. When the USA beat Pakistan I asked 4 NYC tv/radio personalities why they didn't even mention it.
@@Mo-yd8xc US is not the only western media in the world
@@smitaddeshmukh it's the only 1 that counts. Don't you find it odd that the T20 was held here on Long Island and local sports talk radio went radio silent?
@@Mo-yd8xc No it doesn't count when it is cricket.
This final was a perfect one to say THE BATTLE OF NERVES
South africa team very well played. They won million of fan's hearts . Best of luck for next time...love from india❤
This is just the start !!!!
Lady Harmison is not critical today. Think he had his pacifier by his side today
Well Played Proteas 🙏🇮🇳❤🇿🇦🙏
Greatness takes its time
Rahul Dravid is probably the most underrated player/coach in history. From bringing india from the brink as captain to forming the modern U21 programme to India coach, he has been the difference maker for the modern Indian cricket legacy.
INDIA 2024 T20 CHAMPIONS🏆🏆🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳💥💥💥💥🔥🧡🤍💚💥💥💥
Indian fan but Carlos Braithwaite's 6's would still trump this final match albeit narrowly ...
The ending comments of Harms did summed up everything.
Jansen knew he had to defend bumrah also knew he had to do that jansen showed his bat like captain america's shield a perfect defense with a big body and bat but still still bumrah found a gap to go in between his bat and pads and dismantle the top of leg stump with a swing like in lord's
This is heritage this is the greatest fast bowler of this generation standing tall in the biggest moments
Harmi is a as natural as it gets ❤ he is right that there is lot of jealousy about Indias rise and success and its enevitable now that India will keep on doing well in white ball cricket ❤❤
Nobody is talking about Arshdeep bowling
He was great too
As a final, 2007 was even better as it had more changes in momentum and even more batshit crazy last over when no one was used to T20 Cricket. Even 2016 was awesome. This maybe the 2nd or 3rd best. 2012 was also good
Completely agree with Steve here, SA did not choke but India raised their game at crucial point of time.
Steve Harmoson sir explained it perfectly. ❤
Well India did go to the moon earlier last year and now they have won the WC
No catches dropped in this match 😊
Thank you Harmisson and Talk sport for your words on India and this WC.
Sometimes Indian fans can be toxic but please know that we always appreciate good content and fair criticism. You guys have been doing a great job throughout the tournament.
Steve was a brilliant english bowler back in the day
Surya catch will remembered by me for ages
2007 was still the greatest final.. 2016 second best.. and this one is 3rd best T20 Final..
2007 t20 world cup final between India vs pak comes close to this! Very similar to how the game went. All rounders bowling the last over and pak almost winning!
He touched the cushion executing that catch! It was a 6 for Miller
2:50 - Rishab Pant's break of play
I saw the recap of the match, and it wasn't fake/ planned.
Remember, he has had a massive accident and has gone through rehab & recovery.
The last ball of the Bumrah over, he takes a tumbling dive to catch the ball thrown back at the stumbs. It was after this, he needed the physio.
Yeah been saying this to people.
He was literally limping the whole time after that
Best conversation I have never exactly what everyone thinks.
This game had no losers here
It was questionable from Rohit to bowl Axar over.. Against Klassen.. What was he smoking
He wanted to get rid of spin bowling as soon as possible in my opinion. Keeping Axar more later would have been nerve racking too if Bumrah overs didn't go as planned.
@@kunalsinghal1247bro he could have bowled Pandya as Pandya bowled only 3 overs, that was a tactical mistake
@@tanmaymishra2599 Definately a mistake but we never know right? What if the same happened in Pandya's over too. Then we would be having a headache of when to use Axar.
@@kunalsinghal1247Axar was not a good matchup for Klassen...Pandya wouldn't have gone for 24 runs..
Because Klassen Eats spinners for breakfast..😂
@@ahrazathar Definately correct. The thing is Klasseen was in complete flow at that time. He might have rounded Hardik also in that form forget spinners. Ideally Bumrah should have been used but somehow we managed to win.
Finally, some one from Talksport hit the nail on the head. Take a bow, Steve Harmison for the last two statements.
Completely agree. Hardik was crap throughout, and he almost had a panic attack in the last over. Surya saved his career. Clutch player my ass.
Brilliant discussion. Loved it.
Loved every bit of your coverage of WC guys. Keep going 💯🙏
Harmison just nailed it from 13:58 onwards.
Greatest final is 2019...the whole world was at edge...
That is why people love t20 because most of the time matches gets to the wire on the other hand odis most of the time are one sided
Fear of Bumrah pulled the match back after the bully hitting by Klassen.
Virat staying there ensured confidence in players which propelled axar and all to bat good around him
Harmison just nailed it. A bit of jealousy about Indian cricket talent and where India is placed now ($$$) in world cricket is the reason for all the India bashing from overseas!
2007 was best final ever!
Final 5 overs of the 2024 WC:
=======================
15th over: Axar Patel: 24 runs
With 5 overs to go, SA only need 30 runs off 30 balls, with just 4 wickets down. India looked like they had choked. 😰 The WC was SA's to win with ease. Then the following happened to the run rate:
16th over: Bowler: Jasprit Bumrah: 4 runs
17th over : Bowler: Hardik Pandya: 4 runs
18th over: Bowler: Jasprit Bumrah: 2 runs
19th over: Bowler: Arshdeep Singh:4 runs
20th over : Bowler: Hardik Pandya: 8 runs
Those final 5 overs, are the greatest Death Bowling of WC history.
Thanks guy, great analysis.
As a South African, having listened to endless discussions on the issue of choking, we've finally gotten rid of that tag.Nearly chasing down that total,on a pitch that suited India more,it was an outstanding fighting effort from our boys.Congrats to India!
Next wc is South Africa's
On a pitch that suited india more😂 I think yall will say this every time india win innit. Truth is that every pitch suits india more because they're just better than you. Cope
@@afkass4965So true.. This is an excuse everytime.. England lost semi final because the pitch suited India more, Australia lost because India is fixer, And now SA lost, just because of the pitch.. Crazy😂
I would say that the pitch actually did not suit India that much, cuz the spinners were not at all economical, the game was almost dead for India, because of the explosiveness of Klassen.. But like the way India pulled it off was incredible, I even doubt whether England or Australia could have done that..And these guys telling that the pitch was the reason behind India's victory.. And after all these some of the indians were supporting SA because of AB, Steyn and all.. Idk what to say💁♀️
how did that pitch suit India? it was a fast bowlers' haven, South Africa blasted our spinners, lol, pItCh tHaT sUitEd inDia MorE, stfu.
@@afkass4965 So how come this is their first WC victory in over a decade? And how many series did India win in South Africa?😒
Great analysis by Steve -- thank you.
Thank you guys
What about the brilliance of Rohit who chose to bowl Bumrah and Arshdeep early rather than keeping them for the last, to give SA a full blow..
Bumrahhhhh
rohit sharma and rahul dravid tactics were not the best...especially not giving hardik enough to bat..as he is a big match player like kohli and would have scored more runs...and then giving axar extra over when he should have gone with pace...they are lucky that they were up against the greatest choking team in sports who gave up a commanding position and some brilliant bowling by bumrah...
After buttler bairstow moeen ali rashid ben stokes english cricket white ball era over good luck getting any chance of winning icc events for about 10 years
Simply the best analysis !
Excellent post match analysis 👌
Massice respect for Steve Harmisson on stating the truth. As he rightly points out - the jealousy against India in some sections is very disappointing. Criticise India, sure, but dont be agenda driven.
