ITS YOU!!! (lol srry I’m a little excited rn) I have two of your books that I got from hobby lobby and I thought the style was just too cute!! I didn’t know you had a TH-cam and I can’t believe that you are so underrated!! I loooove your prints like seriously I think I am addicted to your style it just fuels me with so much creativity! Please never stop doing what you are doing cause it’s beautiful! Okay anyways imma stop fangirling and let you do your stuff, but seriously, thank you for gifting us with your art!!
I remember finding your art on facebook and then in turn to create a tumblr account to follow you. Still great content from you :) thanks for all the good vibes and art all throughout the years
I like how you uses color. Being limited makes it look cohesive and you uses some vibrant tones that work with how you paint. I’m jealous how you’re turned out, it makes me realize that I need to push the depth of my highlights and shadows more
how come I've never seen some of these, the Mononoke one blew my mind haha also so proud of you for trying out different perspective shots and angles, you truly nailed it - I'm gonna make it my goal to try it out too in the upcoming months!
I lvoe this so much. I think it was fun to listen to your thought process throughout each piece. Its always fun seeing the artists' POV and thoughts while making their pieces!
This was fun to see, it was a bit like a mirror on my journey with Patreon sticker club also went. Started back in July 2020 and still going, still using the months to experiment with new techniques and such. Fun to see the growth your style went through!
All of your art is excellent! It is so cool to see your experiments and see what you are making. I think I will try to work harder to integrate backgrounds into my art. I usually don’t even try because it feels daunting. I mostly make tiny paper dolls, backgrounds not required, but it would be nice to create a world for them to live in.
Aha! I knew your username looked familiar - I think I followed you on Tumblr way back when! It's super inspiring to see how much your art has improved, and I'm always a huge fan of hearing what artists have to say about their pieces, what they like and don't like and such. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos! (I'd also looove to see a video about setting up your Patreon too - while I do have a Patreon, I feel like I haven't utilized it enough, so a look into how you do things would be excellent!)
THIS is such a great question. i would love to make a video that dives deeper into this, but essentially i focus on what i love the most. i ignore trends, things that people expect or want from me, and just chase what excites me the most. it's kind of selfish but at the end of the day, my patreon page and my art is for myself
OMG thank you so much for sharing this. I'm an artist myself as well and was wondering how one artist grows and develops their art styles over time. I've learnt so much from you 😘
oh my godddd i clicked on this video by chance and at the start i thought ur style looked familiar and when you showed ur books it all clicked !!! i had one of ur books when i was younger and it was so fun and easy to follow along :,) and now im an adult with a proper drawing tablet and everything. having your book really fuelled my love of art
This is so inspiring 🥹🫶 I've kinda lost myself due to that office work life and stopped having fun and experimenting with art, but just seeing your art makes me wanna get back into it oml. Your colors and shapes and compositions are sooooo pleasing to look at
@@pikarar I want to know about how to go about deciding what tiers should be offered, how to go about deciding the benefits of each tier, and effectively managing the Patreon by keeping it updated. I don’t know if I want to do an art Patreon, or business Patreon yet. I want to offer something valuable to my audience when I start making content.
Hi! This is the first video of yours I've seen but I've seen your art everywhere. I really liked this video because I've been an artist who has struggled with my style for years now. I think I'm starting to get to a point where I like it and can experiment more with it, but I wanted to ask how long on average would some of the pieces you made to experiment with your style take? One of the biggest things I'm trying to get better at is drawing quicker because it usually takes me forever with digital art
oooh i can make an in depth video about this. i think the key is to not focus on finding a style (the end goal) but to just enjoy the process and explore along the way. each one of these pieces took me a couple of hours or even a whole week, and then i would just move on to the next. if i found something i enjoyed making, i would keep doing it!
@@pikararthank you for getting back to me and I'll try to keep that in mind when I do my next few pieces : ) Sorry this is late, I didn't get the notif but came back this video and saw you responded
Like i mentioned in the video, i think you should just explore! As you start finding a style you enjoy, stick to it and naturally you will develop a style
Hi, if you don't mind, may I ask what was the brush you used for inking in the illustration at 17:21 ? I struggle to find a brush for inking that doesn't look too flat, and your artworks came out really nice. Also, may I ask what was the brush you used for your patreon head at 1:37 , I have been looking for a brush that looks slightly rough at the edge for a long time. Thank you
Oh… I just came across your video today thanks to YT algorithm… and now see that I bought one of your books a year (or 2?) ago 🫶 Nice! (I’m in New Zealand ) **edit… I just checked and I actually own 2 of your books … Cute Creatures and Around the World… (That’s weird tho because I thought I looked you up when I bought the books and added your TH-cam back then… cos that’s what I usually do!)
After editing this, I realized that I was just proud to try anything vs not trying at all
Thank you for this
