I have a 2008 jeep wrangler (unlimited sahara) that I have owned for 10.5 years. No problems with leaking until hurricane Florence a few months ago. I have tried a sealant foam purchased from Ace hardware; which worked for a month. The leak seems to travel. It leaks from the top of the door opening on the driver's side. It wets the seat belt and runs down to the floor. I made and cancelled an appointment at the local dealership. Diagnostics would have costed 120.00. After viewing several DIY videos, I will attempt one this weekend. I assisted a coworker with a leak for her vehicle and it worked, hoping my luck will change soon.

Before I bought my jeep, I considered all of the so called negative aspects of ownership. Lousy fuel mileage, uncomfortable ride, noise etc. It wasn't until I freely accepted all of these things when my jeep started with the real nightmare. Leaking water. Screw Chrysler for their incompetence in fixing a flawed vehicle.

I just sprinkle some soil in the effected area, and then a few lemon seeds. Now I make lemonade!

Where can you find the door Pilar foam? You can barely make out the part number in the video and I can’t seem to be able find it anywhere. Thank you

What is the rope like seal called? I couldn't make out what he said in the video.

This never happened to me and I always go mudding with mine. 2007 Jku sport crd with dynatrac p.r.44 in the front and back, 4.5'' lift with silverstone 117mt extreme 35x11.5 16, nails everything and stands bone dry in the inside after mudding and washing.
maybe the new modles are cheeper at this point, I don't know.
I must say I've never had a waterproof Jeep till the JK.

Joe Stacks so my 2012 wrangler that gets 4-5 inches of water in the front drivers side is a rare occurrence? It's weird then that there are literally hundreds of videos of fixes for brand new jeeps on TH-cam. Also a google search will net you thousands of posts and fixes. For such a rare problem there certainly are thousands of people looking for a solution that no dealership has provided to me yet.

Joe Stacks I've spoken with hundreds of jeep and former jeep owners. They seem to all know about leaking door seals and seams. The rare occurrence is the one out of 20 who hasn't had a leak. If you haven't had a leak then you park in a garage. Or you're just one of the rare individuals who got lucky. Or you own a jeep dealership, because you can't have done any research on this.

My 2017 leaks. Jeep should be held responsible for this. I've hear a few people buy one and it start leaking they took it back several times to have it repaired as it finally fell under the lemon law.

This just tells me that the people who build the Jeep on the line do not give a shit about the product they build, they have no pride in there work.
Jeep has zero quality control checks for this product.
Jeep have no respect for there customer.
that FCM need there arses kicking for allowing this to happen
FCM should close the production line factory down sack management and workers
    start again

Keith Newton it’s the engineering! The people that build are simply following the design. But you’re right that Jeep has 0 quality!

I'm with you. I bought my 2016 JKU used and from the first rain 4 years ago, I noticed a leak. Now four years later, I had to remove my carpet and dry the floors after every rainfall. I'm tired of doing this and I'm giving up. Time to trade it in.

These Jeeps are so Expensive! why is the craftmanship so poor and lousy? is Chrysler Jeep a Lousy and Expensive manufacturer? is it fair for the consumers. I've seen videos of Jeep owners rustproofing their vehicle's frame inside and out. Why Chrysler Jeep doesn't rustproof their frames while in productio .

    • @itachi1540
      @itachi1540 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

if it doesn't rust out, then you won't need to buy another jeep for a while. I don't think that jeep would like that.

My 2 door leaks like crazy! The upper molding fills over the passenger side. pull out of the driveway and turn...boom, soaked and pissed off wife. I've tried foam in pretty much every place there is. Actually watching some vids then headed out to take a 6th look at it and try and figure it out.

Ross T if you fix it post back, curious if you find the exact cause

Im in Northern VT...so as soon as the damn snow stops Im going to be able to take the top on and off and test it. I've been able to slow it down so I figure I just need to get the right amount of foam in the right place then spray it with the garden hose and test it/modify until tight.

There is a MOPAR bulletin on it that might give you some ideas on where to focus...I'll say upfront its not the end all solution...just good starting points.
