    Great music choice when the head was getting milled. You all do awesome work and I appreciate you sharing the process. I’ll get my Subie heads out to you guys one day I promise!

    I enjoyed your podcast on HPA Dave and have started watching your videos. I'd heard Head Games mentioned many times by top tier builders in the past and I can see why you have a good reputation. I really appreciate the insider knowledge you provide and despite being a world away I can apply those fundamentals to my own builds.

    Great info! What is your go-to Ra finish on the decking? I read you need a good surface finish for multi layer head gaskets.

      You need a good RA. We have a PCD cutter. I’m not sure of the RA. I think if you use the right tool then you’re golden.

    How do you know if the head has been milled before? When taking the 4 dimensions before they're milled, is there ever one that's off, ie, head's warped. Thanks. Love the channel.

    • @headgames
      @headgames  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We measure the deck to the valve cover during the inspection process to see if they have been milled and the also during the inspection process we put a straight edge on the head to see if they are warped. While being milled you can definitely see where a head gasket was getting burnt or hot spot and yes if they are warping. It’s usually like a banana so it’s the center that’s low.
      Thanks for watching!

    Can you please do a video on Subaru head difference and why to or not to swap ( Avcs vs Non acvs vs B2.5 vs W2.5 vs etc ).

    • @headgames
      @headgames  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s super complicated one for us since we don’t swap them just work on them. Can you think of a spin on that?

    I recently bought the GSC 2JZ inconel exhaust valves, at what point would Dave recommend going for something like Ferrea, or can the GSC go pretty far?

    • @headgames
      @headgames  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no reason to move away from the super alloy exhaust valve from GSC ever. We use them in all of our record setters and it is the only option available to our customers for the Subaru.

      @@headgames Hi Guys realy love your video's and how informative they are.
      Are the ej255 valves safe to regrind.
      I heard somewhere that they are a little thin and when there ground a heat resistant coating is removed that can cause them to wear rapidly.
      Is this the case?
      If not , with a valve grind and the right Cam and valvesprings , how much power can the standard subaru valves handle if they are in good condition?
      Are the factory Retainers fine to use in a performance application if there in good condition or are bronze valveguides a safer option?
      Really appreciate your help
