  • Here is a look at how I make cold process soap using the Secret Feather Swirl Technique. In this video, I make two different batches using the same technique. I also make two different tops on each batch. Vote on which top you like the best. Stick around until the end of the video for the “What I Learned” section, as I learned a lot on this one. I am a designer and one of the first things I was taught is that odd numbers are far more interesting to the eye than even numbers. I always design in 3’s, 5’s and 7’s.

    Oh my gosh, this episode was so validating. I've been soap making for about two years now, and I recently started trying to build a recipe from scratch. After researching a TON of oils and fatty acid properties, I decided on Olive, Coconut, Palm (sustainable of course), Castor, Avocado, and, you guessed it, Cocoa Butter! As you were adding your oils I was like, oh my gosh, I'm on the right track! My percentages are slightly different because I have really dry skin in the winter, so I like a bit more conditioning, but this made me really happy seeing a professional soap maker choose the same oils!

    • @TreeMarieSoapworks
      @TreeMarieSoapworks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you Emily! You can use that trick to divide anything into equal parts. If something is 6.375 inches and you want to divide it into 3 equal parts, use centimeters (because they are smaller increments), pick a number that is divisible by 3 that is just a bit bigger than 6.375 inches. If it is 24 cm, slant the ruler and divide by 3 and mark every 8 cm.

    Hi! :D I know, creators always wonder how people got to their videos. So here it goes:
    I watched Sophia Nygaard's newest video. And at the end of that video was a Royalty Soaps reaction video to viral soap hacks (Big warning against using cinnamon in soap!). I then fell down a rabbit hole of her videos *guilty face*. And now I'm here! Also, I saw your profile picture, and it reminded me so much of Royal Copenhagen's porcelain (especially their 'mega'), that I just had to find the video of how you made those. That this is the exact video in which you thank Katie for her shout-out, just ties the whole thing together xD
    Big thumbs up to yt creators who take their description box seriously!

    Watching you mix the colors in oil is sooooooo satisfying! It's my favorite part. Much love to Katie - I came here from her channel!

    I know everyone calls us a feather but it looks more like a palm frond to me this would look really pretty in greens

    Dear Marie, compare to you I’m on the level of coloring with crayons. Your work is masterful. Thank you. 💕

    I have to say: good energy on this video! I think your voice is clearer, you seem more prepared in what you're gonna say. Don't know if you changed anything, but I'm liking this

      The voice part of the video is the hardest for me. I am not a good speaker. I am definitely an introvert, but I want to teach, so I am really trying to improve, and be more interesting. Thank you for saying so Pascal! 💖
