    Both look great. Im painting these figures right now, plus the tow tractor driver, some USN mechanic's from Acurate Miniatures, the marine mechanic's from Magic Factory. Thanks for the video

    Beautiful painted figures such as these help to bring life to a model, expecially a good one as Tamiya's

    Good job considering it's your first go at figures.....so much better than my first ones. Practice makes perfect....now that you've broken the ice keep going....it's amazing how improvements can be made in a short space of time. Well done!

    I have found putting Tamiya X-22 gloss on the goggles is a nice touch.

      I thought about a clear coat but forgot about it... I will add that for sure

    Good attempt, especially for your first go at figures. With time and practice (lots of it) and examining other's work, you can't help but get better - enjoy the journey! If I could add one suggestion, it would be to shade just the underside of a fold, not the whole hollow, as light is hitting it from above. Keep up the great work 👍

      Thanks Jerry, I watched a ton of videos, mainly for wargaming figures as thy are similar in size. Thanks for the tips... I will have to up my paint brush control for that :)

    Not a bad first go. I would suggest pushing your contrast between dark shadow and highlights to help separate different areas between different materials. You could also use a dark ink or wash such as brown (not black as it's too harsh) to tighten up your overpainting. This could provide a way of concealing those errors. KUTGW. I have a few painting tutorials on my channel if you want to check them out. I use oils but the theory and principles are the same for acrylics, Cheers!

      Thanks mate, I think I watched your videos as well as many others... still have a long way to go to reach that level :)
      I tried to keep the contrast down intentionally... just to avoid the dramatic appearance but probably went a bit lower than I should have.🍻👍

      No worries just thought I'd mention it. I find the smaller you go the more contrast you need especially if you're showing it in a show environment as the lighting usually washes everything out.

    Hi,
    I search 1/80 sailor figures, unpainted or painted, and I can't find any. I know it's not a common scale but 1/72 or 1/87 would be too big or too small. Does anyone have any clue? Thanks

    • @MMScaleModels
      @MMScaleModels  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I think that 3d printing is your option... Or some train modeling figures, but I am not aware of their scales.

    • @marcchevalier9818
      @marcchevalier9818 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MMScaleModels Thanks for your answer. Train figures are at 1/87.
      I can't find any 3D printable navy crews unfortunately.

      If your budget allows you can go to fiverr and hire a freelancer to make some for you and then print as many as you want.

      @@MMScaleModels Hi,
      As you were kind to answer me I inform you that I finally found a designer, by asking different sellers on "Shapeways". Many messages sent, but two people ansewered favorably. It will cost something less then 300€ for 34 figures. Thanks, bye.

    Add a little touch of micro Krista clear to the goggles to give it a punch, otherwise great figure, very convincing.
