At 4:10 you say, "What I'm trying to do is to trace the pencil lines that I drew in the previous step." I don't understand what you mean by "trace". Are you going over the pencil lines with a very narrow stream of the thin mix? If so, won't this paint cover the pencil lines? Why then make the pencil lines?
Sorry for not being more clear. What I am trying to do is have the pencil line be the 'darkest' part and then by tracing over the line with the thin mix, I am adding a slight shadow to soften up the stark pencil line.
You can search under “lead wire” or “lead thread” it comes in various sizes and is used to tie fly fishing lures. I got mine at cabellas but Amazon has them too
As all your videos, this one is full of wonderful ideas... What material is the crank case made of? I mean, I suppose the paint must be chipped when servicing the motor, so there should be some discoloration and chipping. If so, is there aluminum underneath??
Hi Daniel, for some reason I believe the crank case is made of magnesium to keep things as light as possible. There would be some discoloration over time.
I usually go below 10 for that but it really depends on your AB/Compressor set up. You want to avoid paint pooling while being able to trace lines with the paint.
This is a fantastic vid! Extremely informative, short and to the point. It's so great, music isn't even needed. Thanks again!
I particularly appreciate the information on the terminology for the various engine parts!
Thanks for sharing this work, very nicely done, shown slowly as it should. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Best regards from 🇨🇵
Thank you! Now on to my KC-97!
A great video and superb tutorial on detailing the radial engine.
Thank you great video. I will try a radial engine.
Pretty sweet.
Bravissimo 👍
Thanks for the video, some great advice.

Great stuff 😷👍
Super! Where can one find or what to search under for the the thin wire?

When you say you turn the air pressure way down after applying the pencil work, how low a psi do you go?

@@ModelAirplaneMaker Thanks! Great series of videos!
Nice work. One thing, your voice is quiet and the music, though quiet also, makes it hard to follow. Thanks for the vid none-the-less!
