Hello again after a long holiday! It was long beacuse I was pretty tired and exhausted. This is the first video of the year, enjoy! By the way, a new feature has been added to my channel. You can now support Scale-a-ton on TH-cam Channel Memberships! th-cam.com/channels/2UPftBhkCUwQyCGSQxCbNQ.htmljoin
Nice build, I have always loved the P-40 the most from WWII, even though they weren't as great in performance as the Spitfire, Corsair or Zero, they just had a "macho" character about them, with the big intimidating mouth and teeth, their rugged body frame, they were and always be my favorite plane of WWII. One British fighter that was my favorite and never gets enough attention is the Typhoon and Tempest. What amazing planes.
thankyou for displaying the airpressures and mixing ratios for the paints. it really helps modelers like myself who are trying to learn and get back into modeling after 20 years.
WOW that tip for drilling a hold to align a part is FANTASTIC! I'm certainly going to incorporate that into my own modeling. Thanks for the great content!
Very nice work. Great the trick to mark the dials with the pencil instead of dry brushing. Also what find great in your videos is that you give the paint mix ratio used and airbrush/pressure used. Very nice touch!
The amount of realism you add to the model is outstanding, the final photos are beautifully presented & you would be hard-pressed to believe it's a model & not the real thing. Thank you for the tips & tricks you shared & thank you for taking on this journey with you.
Canadian viewer. Another great build. You have taken olive drab paint scheme to a very realistic, weathered look. Thanks for sharing your tips. I have a Tamiya P-38 to build which is olive drab overall.
Just imagine, to be alive in those days, to be able to walk up and touch those planes that we all adore. It was a regular day for those veterans, looking at these fighters so they didn't care as much as we do, just like cars, everything evolves to something better. I would bet that those deceased WWII veterans would want to walk up and touch today's fighters too.Imagine if we could bring a WWII veteran back to life and have him sit in a F-22 Raptor or even more advanced fighters, what would he think ? Cheers
Love the vid. Just learning to paint. Also, have to say that the song used in the beginning is the same that I used for my sister-in-law's wedding video! Lol
Another enjoyable and informative build. Great to have you back refreshed and ready to go! Terrific job on the P-40 so will await for the next project with much anticipation.
Hats off to you for your excellent model of the P-40. The detailed notes about the materials used and tips to build the model are very helpful and the video gives the impression of professionalism. The model itself stand out from the many video builds of mediocre models here on youtube. Unfortunately 1/48th scale is not my choice.
Excellent work as usual!! every time I watch one of your videos I want to jump on all the projects a have 1/2 way trough. Keep inspiring us with your awesome job, my friend.
You always get superb final finish on your models! Always a pleasure to watch you work. Thank you for your video, I'm already waiting for the next one. :)
The techniques you have have been helpful in my modeling. I want to watch videos other than plastic models, such as your private dish. Thank you for always great videos. Support from Japan.
So admire your skill. Where did you learn all these tricks ??? When I was a kid I built a gazillion kits from matchbox and revell but the result was never anywhere near what you do
I was surprised that you indicated using Leveling Thinner for both Aqueous paints and Surfacer. Does it really work equally well for such different stuff?
This is an aircraft painted like my father squadron from World War II in Burma. I have made several models in various skills depicting his squadron markings.
Question 1: How do you make sure to eliminate dust getting into the paintwork? Question 2: How can I make sure I dont break off any of the little antena? It always happens by accident and never looks the same after. Thanks!
Very cool looking effect from that Prismacolor pensil. Can you recommend other colors from that brand so I could order them online together with that nice silver color?
@@Scaleaton Yeah, I checked them over the web, and I know they are not watercolor. I wanna try them but maybe you can recommend other colors from that brand that you found useful, as I don't want to order a single pencil. :-))
Yes, The same reason I ordered a few of silver too :) Warm gray, white, light green, light blue and some rusty colors (if available) would be great for weathering WW2 fighters and painting cockpits. Have a great day!
I really really like the overall finish and weathering on this one. Too bad I cant find this kit anywhere. Btw is there any reason that you use various airbrushes? Personally I own an evo too as a do it all spraygun.
Excellent results and I love the skull decal on the nose. It's nice to see something other than the shark mouth. I have the new-ish Airfix offering in the stash and hope to build it eventually on my channel. What's your opinion of the Airfix compared to the Hasegawa?

Awesome as usual! @Scale-a-ton what kind of wire belts are made of?
Dear Sir: You do some excellent work! I also love the insets that show the paint mixtures and thinning proportions. Bravo!

Always liked the look of the P-40. This build was excellent

Thanks for the amazing tips! I love when modeling channels have a commentary and not just music. I will have to go through your previous work too :)
Watching this video is making me to want to build this kit again, thank you sir, lots of respect, beautiful work.
You sir do not build models, you make works of art.
That finishing technique really makes the model pop. Well done, always a pleasure to watch your video when I can.
You are a true artisan. Amazing build.

Looks like one of those 'fits where it touches' kits. Great job as always and some really useful tips, thank you for taking the time to share.

Great work👍 building one checkertail from Tunisia, will try that post fading togeather with pigments and lot of chipping. Love your work😀
I've built this kit, and wish I had watched you build it first. :-) I always learn something from watching your outstanding work.
Hello Rahmi! Brilliant job as usual. I really like how the OD came alive. Thanks for the "drill a hole for alignment" tip!
Grear job, mate😃👍
Loved it. Many thanks
U r an airbrush master and a half! The music is non offensive as well👍
Another modelling masterpiece. Thanks for sharing
Great job, beautiful camouflage
Well done Sir. Wonderful result as always. Greetings Ben
Magnificent P-40N!
I've had my eye on making a Hasegawa B5N2 Kate for a while but I've never tried making one of their kits, I hope I can do half as good a job as yours
Please do a p-39 or p-400 next and park them next to this model! I love your weathering techniques.
J’adore trop tes vidéos continue comme ça 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent job
So admire your skill. Where did you learn all these tricks ??? When I was a kid I built a gazillion kits from matchbox and revell but the result was never anywhere near what you do
I'm really impressed, great airbrushing work to get that realistic worn look. Bravo.
Finaly an aircraft! ☺ Beautiful build. I'm using molotov too for details, rather refill than pen so it can be used with airbrush
I will try that!
Firstly, A Very happy New Year to you and your family, this is another great video build, well done I look forward to your next build.
Amazing weathering 👌🏻
Scale -a-Ton love your work ,hope everything is good with you if you need rest i understand your health is more important than the videos take care

Amazing work...really really good....congrats..👍
Awesome work!!!
Outstanding work sir. Thanks for sharing
👍🏻👍🏻🙃🙃
Always a pleasure to see your work,, love the weathering 👏👍😍
Hi there. Excellent work. I noticed that sometimes you use IPA to thin your paints and sometimes leveling thinner. Any particular reason?
I was surprised that you indicated using Leveling Thinner for both Aqueous paints and Surfacer. Does it really work equally well for such different stuff?
Nice works!
This is an aircraft painted like my father squadron from World War II in Burma. I have made several models in various skills depicting his squadron markings.
Great work! Which is the song that finishes at 20:20?
beautiful work !!!!
Buen trabajo!! saludos desde España
Question 1:
How do you make sure to eliminate dust getting into the paintwork?
Question 2:
How can I make sure I dont break off any of the little antena? It always happens by accident and never looks the same after.
Thanks!
EXCELLENT!!!!! How are you able to measure 3% to make paint mixtures?
Very cool looking effect from that Prismacolor pensil. Can you recommend other colors from that brand so I could order them online together with that nice silver color?
Hi, yes that series is great and the best pencil for scale modeling. But these are not watercolor if you are thinking use them with brush.
What kind of air compressor do you have
I missed what type of wire you used for the seatbelts? Fantastic idea and marvellous build as always.
I used 0.75mm lead wire which comes with Dremel VersaTip. Any lead wire with the same size would be ok.
@@Scaleaton thanks.
çok güzel olmuş abi eline sağlık bende bu uçağın 1/72sini aldım inşallah seninki kadar güzel olur
Great result, as always. Interesting way to the final! I must remeber that! ;) Thank You and I wait for next episodes! ;) All the best for You! ;)
great tips! Thanks!
Hey, Do you have a recommendation for a model kit that is easy and doesn't need a lot of paint?
Did you use Tamiya Xtra Thin to glue the clear canopies? I had heard that it can haze the clear parts.
Yes, I had no issue about that.
Thank you! I've no idea, I didn't build any Airfix P-40 yet. But I am sure Hasegawa has better plastic quality and surface texture.
Mükemmel işçilik, daha çok gemi videosu bekliyoruz
Arada böyle değişiklikler olsa da ağırlıkla gemi yapacağım bu yıl. Hem de çok :)
This looks incredible! What kind of wire did you use to make the seatbelts?
You make assembly look easy, but it seems that it wasn't so straight forward....good vid! Thank you
