I still got my 2007 Tacoma. 327,000 miles on it. Literally nothing major has gone wrong with his truck. All I’ve had to do was replace the alternator. These things will run forever literally. Just got a paint job on it and don’t plan on getting rid of it anytime soon. Still runs like it’s brand new. Screw paying these insane $75,000 prices.
I have a '97 4Runner and it has been the most reliable car I've ever had. I've had many different cars. My original clutch lasted over 300k miles. The original alternator lasted until about 260k miles. I replaced it with a Denso rebuilt one and it lasted until about 405k. I replaced the carbon bushings on it just to see what happens. It's still running good and I'm at 423k miles right now. My original starter went out at about 270k miles. It doesn't burn oil. I change oil at 5k intervals.
Looks like I’ll be keeping my manual 3rd gen 2021 TRD off-road that I got brand new for 38k forever. This is now a 70k+ truck, did Toyota forget who buys these trucks?
It also has a Heads Up Display which I cannot think for the life of me why this technology isn't hyped enough. It literally changes the game in driving l.
As much as I like the interior and exterior of this latest design, the 4 cylinder is a huge red flag. I was waiting, hoping the drivetrain rumors were false. Looks like the Frontier is in my near future because of this.
Why? The hybrid engine has more power and torque than the previous model. So what’s you issue? You have size concerns huh…oh well. Go ahead get a Nissan. People love Nissan for their trucks.
@@gherreraj it’s because we don’t want turbo issues on a small engine for a decent size truck and make the engine run harder than it has to nor spend $3-$5k on replacing the hybrid battery 8-10 years down the line when the battery cells are depleted. if giving a naturally aspirated V6 option with 300+hp i would sell my tundra the day this taco would be available. toyota is shooting themselves in the foot for downgrading on the new tundra, sequoia, and tacoma. who knows what kinda damage they’ll do to the new 4runner

@Gaudencio Herrera, Jr. squeezing more power out of a smaller engine. This doesn't concern you at all for reliability or long-term ownership. Bet you, the mpg savings will be extremely minimal or nonexistent. So you'll pay more for less concerning drivetrain. The new Tundra owners have already argued that they see no gas savings. Why would this be any different.
@@car-diologist you think Toyota is the first to do this. Turbos have been used on small engines for a very long time. Are you internal combustion engine designer? I thought so. Yeah, no thanks. I’ll stick to my 2003 Tacoma pre-runner. The last great truck in the Tacoma line is the 2023. Why? Because that was the last V6 they will make until demand becomes higher for it in the later models.
It cracks me up how people are shitting on the idea of slapping a supercharger on the V6 because it will affect reliability while thinking an overworked Turbo i4 will somehow not have the same long term issues.
I know about durability and those engines 2.4 turbo are going to be blowing at 50000 miles I have a 2019 SR5 Tacoma and I won’t change it for something like that
