Thanks for this video dude, it helped me a lot. Especially taking the old air box apart. I even went out and bought a T-splitter and extra vacuum hose before starting my install. However, once I got to the point of attaching the vacuum hose, I found that my bike only had one hose hooked up, and the other was the blocked off nipple thing. Not sure why our bikes differ (mine is a 2012, maybe that's the difference?) but it made my life easier, that's for sure. Cheers!

Just bought. 15 vstar deluxe, got the cobra slip on, hypercharger and fi2000 auto tune. Did you notice a recognizable gain over the stock intake? Any sound upgrades over stock? Nice bike bud
Thanks man. I saw a small gain with the intake, no sound difference. The biggest change was with the pipes and auto tune. More low end punch and growl. Enjoy yours, I know I do mine.
ive got a yamaha virago 250 XV and its currently got ugly chrome air pods and i want something more menaceing but the pods are in front of the motor not between the V of the motor wich leads me to belive id have to get or make some triangle thing to mount the hypercharger to or mabey its just not possible.

did the instructions say remove seat and fuel tank, I have a Harley fatboy I'm going attempt to install one on, u made it look easy, Harley dealer wants $200 for install
+Kevin Dangos did not need to remove the seat. Losening the tank and lifting it up helped make room to get my hand under it to hook up the vacuum line though. I wouldnt spend the money to have a dealer over charge to do it. Besides, I always feel proud aboit doing something myself that seems a little beyond my abilities. Good music and a less than favorable riding day, perfect time to tackle it. Hope this helps.

It came with the intake. I ordered the entire thing for my bike specifically, so i assume they have them packaged together. They might sell you just the mounting kit, but that would be a question for them.
I do have vstar 1300, it has cobra exhaust, any idea why it is behaving like high idle in neutral and when you press the clutch, otherwise I feel it behaves normally. Any suggestions.
If it started acting that way after you put the pipes on, getting it tuned or buying a tuner should help, now that the motor can breathe better. If its always been that way, make sure your throttle cable isnt too short/tight and not allowing the throttle to close completely when you let off.
@@MIcruiserGUY its been 4 years i got this motor cycle it was 800 miles driven had oil changed regularly and spark plug changed onece at 5k miles and 10k mile now.. i feel that idle is high now but might be it had the idle high in first place i was not paying attnetion .. now i ordered a Fuel Mangement System and want to install.. i dont see any tight in the cable as it has plenty of flow in wires. I will lubricate it soon
+Robertson Madlangbayan it is highly recomended. I bought the auto tuner from cobra. Its plug and play, so no trial and error of settings. If you have carbs, you need to get a different jet kit. Most engines will run lean after those mods.
+MrDanbag82 im going off of memory since my bike is in storage for the winter, but i think where the hose hooks up, there is some sort of cover over the vacuum actuator. There might be a membrane in there that is broken, not allowing the vacuum to move the acuator. Maybe there is a rebuild kit available for it?
hey man I bought this from Amazon last week. It did not come with the mounting plate you have there at 26 sec. Kinda stuck now. Calling them now to see what they can do.
@@MIcruiserGUY nah it doesn't...only thing that is missing the mounting plate. They send one specifically for the 950 in the one. La Vi. I checked and they discontinued the 9435. Can't find one anywhere.
+Neil Boyall i believe the hoses are 1/8 inch ID. It bought an assortment pack at auto zone and of the 8 different fittings, there was 1 that was the correct configuration.

Just get it tuned afterwards and you wont have any issues. It breathes better, so it will be a little lean without a tune.
What is to be done with the breather hose you remove from the back of the original air intake? You didn’t cover that in your video. Thanks
There is a breather adapter that fits onto the circular collar behind the Hypercharger; it fits in there.
Did you have to remap your fuel since its fuel injected. I have 2015 vstar 950 and was looking at doing this

Possibly. Not sure what other adapter they would be talking about. You might want to look for more on that adapter to figure out what they meant.

Just purchased a 2002 vtx 1800 has a hypercharger on it already. I noticed that the flaps stay open don't flutter at all. Any idea why?
Its the vacuum line. It needs to be hooked up to close. It will stay open with no vacuum or the bike off.

Does the butterflies stay open on the kuryakyn when the bike is not on
+James Ross yes. At idle, or constant throttle they are mostly closed, but then open up when you twist the throttle open.
I have a 2001 HD Ultra the Butterflies stay open , vacuum line is attached carb is a Magneti Merlil. How can I get the Butterflies to work

out of luck. They don't stock that bracket and it turns out they hypercharger model number is a 9435. Looks like amazon doesn't carry that one anymore

what do we do with the old breather hole we disconnected...just leave it oven?
I put the T fitting on the hose so I could keep everything original hooked up and it has been working fine.
Have a kuryakun hypercharger for a 2001 HD Ultra, butterfly valves nor working, they stay open ! How do I remedy this problem. ???
Hook up the vacuum tube to a breather line on your intake.

No i dont. I just ran to a local auto parts store and got an assortment pack of Ts that had one in it that would fit the rubber hose.
Did you find a connector? I just got a multi pack from Autozone for $3.38. It's the 3/16 connector you need.
The hypercharger with moving intake flaps is just a gimmick. A Cobra Powpro intake with ECU reflash is the way to go.

J&p cycles should have it. Thats where I ordered mine from and I know they had it in black too.
They don't make black anymore sadly but you should be able to get whoever paints your motorcycle to take care of it

Those are one of the worst air intakes you can install on your motorcycle. They’ve actually been proven to hurt performance.
So basically you buy a chinese product and you gipsy it onto the motorcycle. :)))
