    Hoo-weeee! Make sure your rope is long enough!!! Looked like the hinge on the camera's right hung on a little longer and got it rotating and that gave it some momentum when it hit the first log. It may have rolled on the log which helped the runout. I know you were glad to get it on the ground. Didn't appear to be fully rotten on the inside as so many of those big trees are.

    Wow. I guess that was the biggest tree that i have ever seen get dropped. I have seen Buckin Billy Ray drop some pretty big trees but i dont think ive seen him drop any that big. Im glad you moved the boat, i know you know what you’re doing, but that boat was making me nervous.

    I am a Stihl and a Husqvarna fan but I have given up on my 661 keeping the chain on. I have bought a new bar and chain and the 36" chain still comes off quite often. I do not have that problem on my 592 or 390 with a 36" chain. My 661 is now just to look at.

    You used every bit of that 36 in bar to get that spar on the ground. The 661 sounds great with the bark box on there. Husqvarna needs to come out with the wrap handle for the 592 I can only imagine how aggravating it is not having that other spot to grab.

    Is that cutting style called a bore cut? and how do you decide when to use that method?

    • @baldodoesstuff752
      @baldodoesstuff752 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a bore cut. Normally the back strap would be released but he had heavy equipment to get mechanical advantage and pull it down. Plenty of bore cutting tutorials on TH-cam if you search. I recommend bore cutting always when the diameter allows it. It takes all the fight away from any fibers in the wood and is especially useful on softer woods and leaners.

    Unless this tree is sick it’s a dirty shame it has to be cut down just so people with their high priced beautiful yards can look prestene. The over logging and unnecessary cutting of our forest is a big part of the global warming issue.

    • @cotontop3
      @cotontop3  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The front half of the tree fell and hit their garage and this half was leaning back towards the house. It had to come down because if it hit the house it woulda destroyed it and possibly injured or killed anyone inside. Yeah it was rotten inside it when I got it cut also.
