Having one for over a year now, 90k on it. Every Friday doing dune bashing no complains so far.
You HAVE to try the pothole mode. It is a full on electronic diffs lock like the Discovery. It senses slip and immediately sends torque to the wheel with traction. Amazing 4x4
I know but you would think it was labelled Butthole mode since every Aussie reviewer seems to see it, chuckle, then choose some other inappropriate mode, like rock mode when there are no rocks in sight.

Swipe down on the infotainment screen, you can customise the shortcuts and add lane keeping. Press and hold lanekeeping to goto the exact spot in the menu to turn elk off. 😊

Yep. Here is South Africa we can turn off ELK and Lane assist permanently with the shortcut buttons. Does not reset to on.
Unless you have a HEV then you dont have that option

I've had the Tank 300 petrol ultra for a year now, It's one of the best cars I've ever driven. The downside is the fuel consumption and the ELK keeps turning on everytime I get into the car (which I understand is a feautre in all new cars). The indicator stock can be annoying at first but you get a feel for it after while. With regards to quality my right rear tyre pressure keeps decreasing slightly faster than the other tyres. Not sure if it's a GWM thing or a tyre thing, haven't had time tot get it checked out as I live in remote WA. Early on I had some rocks lodged from trucks crack the top surface of my windshiled. Had it replaced with RAC. As for everything else it's been perfect. I've done over 15K and most of it is long distance on crappy country roads with some city driving and beach dune off roading. It's extremely smooth, extremely comfortable and enjoy getting in everytime. It's my meditation machine. Happy with my purchase so far. Will update this comment in another year.
That tank is such an amazing car! If you want to put more icons on your main screen than the 3 main ones, just hold tye screen fir about 5 swcinds and you can add different things, remove, etc.
Super annoying that putting the car in 4wd doesnt automatically turn off the lane assist
A decent set of All terrains and it would be unstoppable just about.

Tou can hold down the traction control button to the right of the steering wheel and it goes into a off road traction control.
I haven't tried it i just found it one day when i was mucking around.

@miguelpinochetcharnay540 you need to hold the traction control button to the right of the steering wheel on the dash down for around 5 sec and a message will pop up on the screen

You can turn ELK off by going into the app by leaving it as a warning not ELK simple mate, it will vibrate on the wheel but won't make movements on steering

I have driven over 200,000km in Ford Ranger work trucks loaded to the hills and never had a single issue. They always got me home at the end of the day
i have generally found especially on sand that higher pressure in the trailer tyres is better than lower pressure,
i have also asked a few people why they deflate trailer tyres, so thanks for the explination
I agree::as they are not driving wheels and won’t dig in keeping the trailer on high pressure means less drag resistance.
I enjoy your content but would be more pleasant with a Sound Editor. The loud music inserts and background don't match the less loud voice. It makes it harder to hear what is being said. Perhaps use a dedicated microphone? Just saying

Do the lift Ruben, all of us GWM AND TANK300 owners know, they are Underated, road tyres towing a camper up there ! There will be a lot of smart coverts to “the so called China shit “ you’re only going to save on an unbelievable modern age vehicle. Look at other brands after 10 or 20 years on, WELL, Korean, Japanese , etc were scorned then by ill informed people then, and still up there with the best available as now in 2024 , CHINESE tough vehicles, including MG,HAVAL, CHERRY, LDV etc.,will be the same. Get on to em, we don’t make our own shit ,so own some good shit now for the future,
Give some lift andcmudcterrain tyres, it wil, beat landcruiser any day. Got one with 15000km, best car and just 50k $. Would have wasted my money on a prado for 90k.

GWM, the real test is after 100,000 km. And when something inevitably goes wrong, how long will it take to get parts. It’s great that you have an open mind on these things, but like all reviews on new cars, it’s the reliability that needs to be proved. I’ll be keeping my N70 Hilux for a while yet. 330,000km and counting. That’s a review ☺️. A good video nun the less. Thanks mate.
Don't be triggered but the video below shows 7 warranty GWM TANKS are dominating, your old Hilux is no comparison in the real world, keep your Hilux and let other people enjoy their reasonably priced fully equipped TANKS. They will do over 500000kms already proven many years and rigorously tested in China.

Because of Tank's low price. I can buy a new Tank after its 150000km . and use the new Tank competitive with your 150000km N70. I think this more fair.

But YOU didn't study this car well before offroad, this car is WAY WAY MORE capable, it used to EXTREMELY DIFFICULT offroad conditions and it does them with ease... You need to study the car, thats all, so the fault is on YOU, the TANK300 is WAY WAY WAY more capable!!!
If you need more low down torque try out the hybrid version. Pretty sure that'll give you all you need.

The inconsistent throttle response when accelerating is really frustrating. It feels like nothing happens, nothing happens, and then suddenly it takes off. Sport mode is more consistent with throttle response, but sometimes it revs way too hard. I’ve also had issues with the car not turning off correctly. Even after locking it, the fans keep running for 10 minutes or more. Sometimes, when I get back in, there’s no startup sound or animation, almost like the car never fully shut down and stayed on via the battery. It would be great if they could give us a software update - I feel like so many of these issues could easily be fixed that way.
U really should add some footage of the cannon aswell. Not much out there of them off-road

We have 7 Chinese cars in our company and over 3 years zero issues.
GWM are giving them 7 years unlimited klm warranty, so I suspect they want it to last your 5 years minimal + another 2.
Read what you want into that but they're here to stay.
GWM V200 & V240 utes released in Australia far more than 7 years ago, try 15 plus are still being utilised today and yes in the remotest harshest territory we have, outback Norther Territory.
They just last, against all opinions to the contrary.
Steeds would be well beyond 7 years old and still going, see examples daily still looking clean, tidy, and some cherished polished examples amongst them.

Maybe get rid of the Highway tyres it would probably preform better

Globally Nissan is teetering on the edge of Bankruptcy. Jeep / Chrysler filed for Bankruptcy in China in 2022 and Chapter 11 in the US. The Chinese market is 40% of the global car market now, so failure there is worse than failure in the US or Europe for the long term cashflow of the Group.
Nissan / Honda / Mitsubishi are being forced into a merger by the Japanese Government which is effectively a Honda takeover, but saddles Honda with debt and problems. Nissan will not exist in 5 years time. The cars may last longer than the Company.
Toyota just partnered with BYD to use BYDs EV technology in Toyota cars going forward. The BYD Seal outsold the Camry in Australia last month.
The Chinese car companies have almost no older cars under warranty in Australia and sales growing massively. This is a MUCH better position to be in when it comes to parts and warranty claims than a massive pool of older cars and declining sales.
If you haven’t driven a modern Chinese car, one built in the last 12 months, go and do yourself a favour and drive one. It’s sobering. BYDs head of design’s previous job was at Bentley. BYD have 80,000 engineers. I’m an Aussie of European background, but I’m also very experienced when it comes to finance, engineering and design and BYD, GWM and Geely are so far ahead of your opinions. I honestly expect Nissan, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Renault, Subaru and most of Stellantis to be gone in 5 years time.
VW are in deep trouble, they have never closed a factory in their history, last year they closed 3. Kia and Hyundai also just closed their Chinese factory that they only completed in 2019. Things are changing very fast.
