guys be careful with compression fittings. they do work in a pinch as a temporary fix, but they can blow apart under high brake load like a panic stop. always try to use a union instead that matches the flare type on the line. the difference is the union is a solid piece of material that puts the load on the threads and the flare seal. the compression fitting relies on friction alone on the outer surface of the line to hold it together.

I'm from CO and love this video, 4wding in CO is one of the most different and fun kinds you can do! Tire selection is also extremely important here, getting a cold weather compound and tread with siping is extremely important. And as a Coloradan it makes me proud how much they respect and enjoy my state

Funny how they comment Jeeps being prone to breaking (a brake line and a tie rod, from hitting boulders etc on the trail btw). Yet two Toyotas break their drivelines from basic climbs, and another's rear brakes stop working, but somehow no criticism...

I lived and wheeled in Colorado, in my 74 Bronco. I 'pucker' thinking about all the sketchy trails and close calls. The sense of accomplishment finishing these trail will follow you your entire life. Red Cone was my favorite run, could do it alone without major hassles. 12,800ft is no joke. Remember, it's on trail and not offroad.

I’ve played that brake game with 3 different Jeeps in my day. YJ, XJ and WJ all failed at the rear line. I got ahead of the issue on my current JK and regularly keep an eye on it.
Needless to say, now I always carry spare coils of 3/16” brake line and several Parker 3500psi 3/16” compression couplers.
    Jeep life.

Its worth mentioning that high alpine tundra is very fragile so driving off trail can cause damage that can take decades to recover and puts trails at risk of being shut down. I'm sure your camp was sanctioned but it's an important detail for others watching this video that may not know.

I absolutely loved this video which brought back great memories of off-roading with friends back in the 1970's and '80's in British Columbia, Canada. We didn't have all the fancy gear these guys do but with winches, jack-alls and chainsaws we made it one way or another. Yank's Peak in the Cariboo, the Jade Mine in the Shulaps mountain range, Middlepass crossing over the continental divide from the Flathead valley in B.C. into Alberta, P Line in the mountains above Squamish....all amazing trips. I'm a little too old now to get back into off-roading but watching these Aussies exploring the U.S. where I now live helps me relive my glory days of my youth. Thank you!
