  • Side Hustles - How To Sell On eBay - Easily Make $1000 A Month!
In this video series on side hustles, we share about how to sell on eBay for beginners. I interview my assistant Heidi who has a lot of experience with side hustles for women and men and she gives great tips to sell on ebay fast! I was blown away by her creativity at figuring out how to get items to sell for little or nothing. In the video, Heidi tells us she made between $250 and $2500 a month on her side hustles on eBay.

I started out small about 15 years ago going to goodwill and selling on eBay. Last year we sold well over 100k and this year we are averaging $441 per day. There is literally unlimited product to flip everywhere you look. Just be creative!! Good job ladies, anyone can do this if you work at it.

Hello, Heidi!! I love your hair! I love seeing you both together! My favorite frugal gals! I lost my job about 6/6.5 years ago. I came home and cried and my husband said, "Don't worry. We can do this." My step son, 15, lived with us. My husband already had an eBay "store" and a side business with working on mowers. I became the Queen of Lawn Boy 2 cycle mowers and parts (we take mowers apart and sell the used parts). I made more in a year on eBay than I did at a 40 hr week job. It works! eBay, Craig's list and now FB Marketplace. Great video ladies! People need to know...

So excited for your selling on Facebook video! I have a big house plant collection and sell rooted potted cuttings on Facebook. The plants are free and I get the pots three for a dollar at Dollar Tree. Potting mix is pennies per pot. I sell them for $5 and my plants just keep making more!

My daughter makes mega-money selling vintage greeting cards on e-bay...she made over $3,000 in one weekend...no kidding! We don't get it that people want cards; but she's doing great...the amount mentioned was a one-time thing.

Strongly Suggest: Before selling anything, make sure to read and understand all of eBay policies. It will be worth it. There was a policy change just this month that upset a lot of Sellers. Know what you can and cannot do.
In reality, you can make even more on eBay without ever going to a yard sale or selling parts of broken equipment. However, I agree with starting small until you learn the ropes.

I used to sell on eBay. I had a 1990’s pinball machine that died. I sold it to a person who refurbished them. A few years later I found the “instruction / component” book for it. Sold it on eBay for 25.00! I was thrilled.

Awesome. Yep manuals and old magazines and def. Comics. I have a 1970s harlem globetrotters book with lots of signatures thinking about selling. I looked up the one for the year Secretariat the racehorse won triple crown and it was like almost $800 for the cheapest i could find. Crazy people buy anything at any cost. Insane.

My hubby, son (mr20) and I all have side hustles. Hubby is a mechanic and works from home on weekends. Mr20 has a TH-cam channel and is a serious gamer (he has a day job too). I'm a homemaker but also make and sell cloth bags. I also enter loads of competitions online. What I win is something we don't have to work for, and what we don't want is sold on Facebook marketplace. As far as buying fabric, people give me bags full. I also buy from thrift stores and garage sales. We were given an electric recliner when hubby was quite ill and unable to work. When our relationship with the recliner giver disintegrated beyond repair, we sold the chair for $250 (we didn't want bad memories in our loungeroom everytime we looked at it)

Love this video! My side hustle isn't terribly lucrative, maybe a thousand dollars a year. I deliver for a local CSA (community supported agriculture) once a week. But, I receive a small amount of money for each box of produce that I deliver AND I receive a box of FREE local fruits and veggies for my own use every week. My husband travels during the week for business and my two kids and I eat a ton of veggies, so some weeks we live on the box that I receive plus whatever is in the pantry. I may not make a huge salary but the savings on fresh produce helps immensely over the year 😁

I've noticed that just the Parts from board games and some preschool toys that are vintage will sell on eBay. I have a lot of oddball stuff around left over from my childhood. A lot of whole board games. But also quite a few parts that no longer have a match plus a few pieces from long gone toy sets. For me, they are all from the mid to late 1970's, no newer than early '80s.

I sold on eBay, but never made $500, let alone $1,000 a month. I finally closed my eBay store because by the time I paid for the clothes, the store, other eBay and PayPal fees, I had very little money left. (And some months, it was further in debt.) Then eBay decided everyone needed to give free returns and we pay the postage to get the items back. Our store became a try on store and we started to get more returns back then we ever had since we opened the store. I am looking for a side hustle, and would like to find something I can do and succeed at.

Finding stuff throwing away has been great for me. Neighbors move or trash things and i get it and sell it. Ebay has too much crap going on in it now(friend doin ebay is leaving it after over 10 yrs. and she used to make buccoo $ and ebay is screwing over so many honest and innocent people now) but Marketplace and offer up(no shipping..meet and usually when im heading to town(noextra gas) has been good to me. Lol next door neighbor drug out a fancy weightlifting set. I got it and listed it on offer up and a guy drove over an hr. To get it. Made $50 and one of the cords was broken...which i disclosed. Another neighbor left behind a bunch of toys(small puddlepool little tikes basketball goal few tonka and similar toy trucks few other things and sold it on marketplace for $25. A best sell was found at salvation army newwithtags($60) rare edition sundress $4 and stride rite dress shoes $4 new Sold on marketplace the dress for$30 and took shoes with me and sold those to same lady $10...all in a day. Bought a $2 net for a basketball goal and sold it $50 left behind by next door neighbor. Lots more things to. Working on getting back into that too. Found good stuff for me after hurricane Matthew and lots of metal scrap to take to the scrapyard too. Also think i will try again(new marketing strategy) to sell my homemade pinatas..not the walmart stuff ..higher quality and my diapercakes and wreaths too.

It can take a long time. That is why I always tried to have at least 50 -100 things listed. My personal rule is I can get the price I want as long as I am patient. Some things sell within minutes of posting so it varies.

You can list items for auction or fixed. I list my "fixed" for a month and some items are bought within a day, or week. Some things stay longer. You need to be willing to hold onto items for a little while. I have made good money on eBay as well. Very good question! Maybe they should do an hour live show on eBay.

I remember back then. My thing is I never made any money on ebay. We are all so very different. I did find that camper parts sell really well when I was turning our old camp trailer into a concession trailer. Ebay isn't for everyone and you just have to keep trying to find your thing because there is no such thing as one size fits all. I didn't make money until I bought a mini school bus and turned it into an ice cream truck. So don't give up just keep trying.

Way2go Heidi! Awesome DC somebody doing great things from my own state. We have a extended family who does this and also takes free items and sells them on Facebook. This person has earned enough money to go visit her father in another state. The advantage this family member has is they work full time so they're out driving and so the roads that they drive bill will see free items plus a live in a rural area so they'll see things the end of the driveway. She does check Facebook for free items and resell them. Show is cleans I'm up and has them look brand new. Banks Plus she coupons I know you on living on the dime your family doesn't. But this family member has found so many items free couponing and has been able to supply many of the needs that her three grandbabies need. Plus she shops at the thrift store so with little or no money she's able to help out with their grandkids. The stuff that she buys at the thrift store for the grandkids when they're done she make sure there's no stain to make sure everything is very good shape and she turns around and resells it. I live north of where Heidi does and people might have garage sales but it's not like it used to be everybody is selling things through eBay or Marketplace on Facebook. As much as it's good one morning I want to give you have to be prepared for those people that might say they wanted you go to the meeting place or you wait for them to come and they don't show up there are those chances but in the long run what Heidi is sharing anybody can do. I have done it many many times different things resold it I don't do as much as I like just because I don't have a vehicle. But I tried to get a ride with a family member when they go at times. I think Heidi idea I hope many will try and their area all the way down to the chicken house. I know of a family that her husband died the mother and her daughter both their husbands passed away and that's how they supplemented their income even though they worked buying things reselling them finding free items supplemented things.

It takes a lot of hours when you first start. You also have to add going to the different places to buy items to sell. I believe the longer you do it, the faster you go. It's not as easy as she is making it sound. Maybe for her it was. If it was that easy, everyone would do it. I think it's worth a try, but you will have to learn as you go. To make a 1000 a month you really have to have what is in high demand. It's not always so easy to find that. It depends on where you live and what's available.

@@sandy-ke1kr Hi Sandy, thank you for your reply. When you say it depends on where you live and what's available, would you say that the more affluent your area the better your return?

One thing people starting out has said...to look around your own home 1st. And see what you can sell in your own home. Just a warning tho...make sure if you do ebay their rules will get you plus..b4 u get your $ its $500 in sales 25 transactions and 3 mths. If u sell $500 and its not 3 mths. Still dont get $..thats why i cant afford to do ebay but offer up and Marketplace on fb is really good and no shipping if you dont want.
