I found my LGD would only eat at night once hit 2yrs old. I also found out he was allergic to chicken. I had his stool tested and it was full of undigested protein. Once I switched him to lamb and rice he improved 100%. He weighed 172lbs and only ever ate 2c a day. I would recommend testing to know for sure and try feeding in the evening. Once the goatlets go to bed it would be easier to feed Herk without fear Larry will eat it. Might be worth a try! Good luck! The new babies are adorable! Congratulations!🎊

Janet, Jack, Chrissy Also, as far as feeding Herc - my brother used to feed his Springer canned green beans mixed with the kibble. Kibble is complete nutrition so adding the canned green beans add bulk and moisture to the kibble. Not to mention, it's cheaper than canned dog food especially in bulk from a big box store (Costco, Sam's).
With the three new goat additions, the gated space is too small for the entire family. The excitement you mention coming from Herc is the outcome of a small space for the big guy. He's big in size and now with the larger goat family, more space is needed for Herc.

Get him raw beef liver, it's cheaper than can food. It's also a good protein, also get him Greek yourt and mix in food, vet approved both are. Liver cut up liver and put in ziploc baggy and take 1/4 to 1/2 cup cut in smaller pieces. Raw is better than cooked, cooked takes away another of protein value

Chicken is one of the most common allergens for dogs. Also stay away from food with corn in it. Doesn't digest and just makes more poop.
