    For nearly two years I have been mulling over the idea of buying a sub-compact or compact tractor. This would be my first tractor and as a senior citizen likely my last so I want to make an informed decision. I have visited dealers of various brands, kicked the tires as they used to say, got quotes, etc. Summit tractors were not available in my area until a few months ago. So Courtney's reviews showing that tractor being used with various implements was a great help to me.
    I'm now ready to buy a tractor and Summit is my choice. Along with that tractor I have a list of implements that I'll be buying from GWT.

    Summit showed up in our Home Depot, and a local tractor tech here in E. Tennessee is well equipped as an authorized service point which can make Summit a viable choice. I am not yet convinced Summit is THE answer, but all large companies started small. Hopefully its the right time, and they do it right so as to not strand customers. Nothing kills tractor maker longevity faster than crappy service, warranty, and QC.

    Courtney, I’ve learned more about tractor and implements from you than any other channel. It makes total sense that you are able to embrace change and look yourself in the mirror! You fulfilled your contract with Summit which I’m sure helped them kickstart their line. Well done sir! Personally from watching your videos and my grader on his Bobcat skid steer, if I won the big lottery, I would go that route. Better balance than the 1025R, better maneuverability, a plethora of attachments etc. I do not understand why some think there’s something else going on. I believe one of your first videos with the Summit, you explained that you were helping kick start them. To me, helping doesn’t mean doing everything for another, it’s just a hand up. A business must be able to change if they want to grow and meet the demands of the market they are in. They cannot be static, they must be adaptable and you do a great job of it!

    It's said all the time, buy the dealer not the brand (within top tier, in my opinion). Kioti absolutely sold me at the dealer level. Fantastic knowledge of their lineup, superb support, and in my case that's their *primary* brand. I passed up a local dealer that had Kioti's as a "bolt on" brand (in conjunction with New Holland), and went 2hrs up the road to a Five Paw dealer that dealt ONLY in Kioti. Major difference in attitude, training, helpfulness.

    • @Noah_E
      @Noah_E ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had a similar experience when I was in the market a couple years ago. My local Kioti and Yanmar dealers were much easier to work with than JD and Kubota. Don't expect a call back or a minute of a JD dealer's time if you are buying anything less than a $300k combine. The Kubota salesman had sold cars up until a couple months prior and knew NOTHING about any of the equipment on the lot. The quality (or lack thereof vs price eliminated Massey and Mahindra from consideration. My dad ended up with a New Hollander Boomer 40 after a JD dealer brushed him off when he inquired about a 3038E / 4044M. The NH dealer was willing to spend time with him going over his needs and the Boomer is almost smack dab in between those models in most regards. The Yanmar dealer did the same with me, which is why I have a YT347. I wanted to see a 2038R early in my search and they refused to help me unless I signed a purchase agreement and left a deposit.

    Bought a new Kioti CK2610 HST with the backhoe and third function front hydraulics during the pandemic and we couldn't be happier with it! 😁It has made the chores around our 10 acre parklike property north of Ann Arbor much easier! We looked at Deere and Kubota at the time and the value wasn't really there, so we went with the Kioti. We were able to spend another $15K on attachments over the past couple of years since we didn't have to pay the 'brand name premium' on the tractor purchase. 😉

    I just bought a new kubota lx2610su was looking at comparable kioti and the price was almost the same. A few hundred dollars different. The treadle pedal was the deciding factor. I HATE the twin side by side pedals of kioti and Deere. I’ve had both sold a kioti cs2510 to get a larger frame kubota. For me the treadle pedal is much better. Push forward to go forward back to go back. Works for me. Your results may vary.

    As a Bobcat CT2025 owner (which is basically a slightly upgraded Kioti CK2610), I could not agree more on your assessment of the Kioti/Bobcat brand quality, and parts/service availability. It really was a significant savings for me to go that route as I went up a size from my old BX2200.

      How are you liking the 2025? I have a ct1021 and currently selling it to get the 2025. I love my Bobcat so far and have had no issues with it in 200 hours.

    • @va3svd
      @va3svd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomahawkjo8574 I love the CT2025. It’s an amazing machine, especially for the price. Full disclosure: I am a former service manager at a Bobcat dealership. Didn’t leave for a bad reason, just found a better opportunity. But I learned a lot while I was there, and I wasn’t in love with the CT1xxx series. Firstly, it is made as an economy series; its biggest appeal is the price. I found their engines were very rough starting and clangy, but that might be a cold climate thing (Ottawa Valley, Ontario). In general, you get what you pay for.
      The CT2xxx series is NOT made as an economy series strictly. It is designed to be a much more fully-equipped, “luxury” series if you will (you see this most noticeably in the quality of the seat and the positioning of the loader joystick). It’s a *comfortable* tractor to operate. They’re not racing to the bottom of the market, although the pricing is attractive. They’re competing with the bigger brands with that product line, and you can tell just from sitting in the operator platform. You will instantly feel the quality difference. Same thing with the 4xxx series; we go back to an economy product with those. I would not trade my CT2025 at par for a CT4045, for example.
      I mean, in short, I adore that machine. I think you’ve made a great move in the short- and long-term with that upgrade. You will not regret it.
      From a service standpoint, it’s well-made, but listen for engine valve clatter. Once in a while they aren’t well-adjusted out of the factory (probably because they don’t mark off where top dead centre is), even brand new. Mine and the vast majority run like a little sewing machine, but one in about 50 sounds like the engine has an empty tin can bouncing around in it. No worries, the engine itself is fine, and the dealer will do the valve adjustment under warranty. Takes about 2 hours.

    • @BrianAnderson-oc6lr
      @BrianAnderson-oc6lr ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a Bobcat 2540 tractor. I like it a lot so far, (except for those ugly welds in the cab) 😮, but I am concerned about the availability of parts. I wanted to buy some extra front wheels so I could swap tires for different applications or seasons, and the wheels have already been discontinued. The tractor is only two years old. The wheels are also oddballs spec wise, so no aftermarket company has any either. The OE maker is a Turkish company that doesn't list a wheel with that configuration on their website. So, if something ever goes wrong with one of the front wheels, it looks like the only option would be a custom built wheel. Again, this tractor is only two years old. It might not be as expensive as a Deere, but I still paid a pretty penny for this thing and I need it to last/be supported.

    • @tomahawkjo8574
      @tomahawkjo8574 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BrianAnderson-oc6lr Have you checked for parts with Kioti? Bobcat tractors are made by Kioti. From what i understand the parts are pretty interchangeable.

    • @va3svd
      @va3svd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrianAnderson-oc6lr Bobcat does temporarily go out of stock in some parts when a supplier gets changed. It sounds like this might be the case for those parts, because I never had an instance of Bobcat ever saying on any part for any machine less than 20 years old that they could not supply a replacement part, and even that was extremely rare. Occasionally a supplier would stop producing a part or become too expensive and Bobcat would change, but they would advise of that and eventually have it or an alternative available. Ask that dealer to open a support case with the aftermarket parts group and they will give hints as to what is going on or how long the delay is. I will 100% guarantee you that the part will be coming available again at some point, there’s just a temporary bottleneck somewhere. Bobcat is super motivated to have the tractor line succeed. They constantly advertise promotional deals for sales departments and contests for salespeople just in the tractor line. And it’s not because they’re not selling. They want to become a big player in that market.
      Actually, why not order the part directly from bobcatparts.com? They will ship for free if the order is over $100, and it seemed to me like they would give higher priority in shipping to direct customer sales than they would to the dealerships. And they only charge straight MSRP; some dealers marked their prices up even beyond that. Now, if you value the relationship with your dealer, maybe don’t do that, because that will piss them off in a big way. But it is an option for you.

    I think you are on to something with Kioti. I got an NX4510 cab. I looked at everything available and this tractor for the money blew everything away. $18000 less than comparable Deere. I am lucky to have my dealer only 8 miles away.

    Those Summits had good specs and looked like a lot of bang for your buck. I got a JD 2025r because the dealer was close, Kuboto had no tractors during Covid. LS and Kioti was too far away if anything went wrong. Summit I’m sure would have been less in price but JD was zero percent interest. Plus their service and parts. I hope Summit gets a market share. There was never going to be any garrentee Good Works tractor was going to be with them indefinitely. Branson we’re good tractors but I think they are gone. I was even going to get a Bobcat(Kioti) but they wanted JD prices. I think I got the best bang for my buck with this 2025r tlb. That’s why Good works tractor buys them and sells them! Thanks for all the great TH-cam video. Hope to have you send out a Pallet one day to Nor Cal.

    Just bought a new Bad Boy 3026, incredible value. Anyone in the market might want to also consider them. Searched for months…..Just couldn’t justify the kubota or Deere premium price. Stronger dealer network, of course. However, TYM, Branson, etc are also made by the mfg of Bad Boy. Once you know that, parts aren’t a problem.

    I think Summit had a great introduction. Everything that I wished that my Kubota had they included. I also believe that Deere and Kubota need to protect their status if they want to remain on top. Americans are fickle and will shop by price more than quality. This is why Harbor Freight exists in every town.

    Summit is basically a “news startup”, minimal inventory if any, I figured you went all in with summit as a dealer/rep etc when every other machine was gone and you were talking them up like mad. Kinda hard to make a living in this industry with one make with only a single model, kioti makes much more sense. I like how they’re not afraid to throw a cab with a/c on a 25hp subcompact. Down here in the Deep South I’m seeing a number of Curtis cabs on zero turns, I think this model will help propel kioti because I and many others here want those cabs with a/c, it can be brutal as that last heat wave showed with temps staying above 100 for weeks. To have a cab and mow? Only thing better is if that zero turn had a loader and implements for other tasks, here comes kioti, I think you made the absolute best decision. And you’re a billion percent correct, I love my Deere, but they’re making kioti seem like a dang great option. My friends that have them LOVE kioti and they’ve been running theirs for over 10 years with no more problems than my 3R except they paid 1/3 less fora better machine with a FAR BETTER warranty, and that’s worth it’s weight in gold. Deere dealer down here is awesome, but I don’t think my machine is worth the insane cost of Deere parts, and YOU WILL NEED YOURE DEALE. IT WILL BREAK, I don’t care what color you buy, it’s gonna fail at some point. Period.

    I work in a dealership that had sold Massey Ferguson compact and subcompact tractors. I noticed that very few Massey Ferguson tractors were coming in for repairs. I own a Massey Ferguson subcompact tractor and a 1734e compact. Both have around 400 plus hours. I ask a lot out of them and work them hard. I have had little to no real issues. Now, Massey Ferguson/Agco has pulled a lot of the smaller dealerships contracts to sell their brand. We now sell Bobcat tractors which are rebranded Kioti tractors. I can say I am seeing problems with this brand. Oil leaks, fuel system problems, hydraulic/hydro problems. Myself if I wanted to update a tractor, I'd probably go to a Massey Ferguson dealer before buying Bobcat/Kioti. That's just my personal perspective on Compact tractors.

    Day 2 of waiting for Versaforks since Courtney c*ck blocked me by releasing jdqa first. The list of uses continues to grow just as the nights continue to go colder. A glimpse of what happiness looks like flashed before my very eyes when I read they were finally here. Only to feel that crushing defeat as I glanced at the details. 20% off even for early buyers, a hit to the gut. A one two punch for an instant knock out. That post might aswell have said "Versaforks are finally here! Except for you, my favorite poetic viewer". Such a shame, but such is life. Endless disappointment down to my soul....

    Summit tractors are made by India-based ITL. Did you ever mention that? If so many people don't buy Kubota because of the pedal design why doesn't Kubota address that? I really won't miss hearing about the Summit tractors.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, mentioned in multiple videos. It also has a big sticker on the side of it that says who makes it. Kubota clearly doesn't care and also you get folks that say they love that pedal design.
