That snapping allegator, poor thing is TERRIFIED. The animals are unhoused, disoriented, and fighting for their lives in the currents, just like we are!
I agree. Poor animals. That would be terrifying being a passenger in that car with the alligator biting at it. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this hurricane ❤
Despite what cartoons show, alligators seldom have houses
Thanks search and rescue 🛟 GOVERNOR DID AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JOB Sparing nothing.. thank you to the private funding .. now let's go linemen . Thanks to private funding w air and line support. Stay safe we need you back home 💝
@@planewire2153 I feel the meaning of unhoused was more about being 'out of it's territory' which made it behave erratically due to fear and stress.
Help search and rescue.
Get even cajan at to rangle the snakes and gators.
. people don't realize Not only does not everyone know how to swim.
Even an Olympic swimmer in all that mess could gold through this type. This is elite platinum and blessed and grateful. They give whatever they are great at come together w families at home. Not your everyday person is willing to do this
It's eerie knowing I’m only 4 hours away from the disaster. Lord, help us all. RIP to all the lives lost after Hurricane Milton.
That’s well said.
Why do people who live by the coast in an area prone to hurricanes, storms and tornadoes,: build a single level home with no stilts on land prone to floods; build using wood planks; build very close to the water or refuse to evacuate after 1 week of warnings and recommendations to do so? I'm perplexed.
People lost trust in news these days
Some people are just spoiled and stubborn and refuse to do what they should, only what they want and I’m quite sure they were told, I wouldn’t do that if I were you. You also have those that will tell you all my family and friends are here and that’s why I can’t leave, you heard the lady in the interview crying saying I don’t know we just keep going through this and I don’t know. I just don’t wanna leave even if their life is in danger. God bless them, they do have a choice.
Southerners
Ummm doesn't matter in FLORIDA. AVERAGE STATE ALTITUDE 12FT ABOVE SEA LEVEL . SO HIGH TIDE AN STORM SURGE MEANS
WHATTTT AGAIN.. OH IS THERE LAND UNDERNEATH GIVE IT 5 MAYBE 10 YEARS AN SEA LEVEL ALONE WILL SINK THE STATE.
why would anyone live in a house on a beach in florida in the first place, devastating hurricanes have been happening here since like forever
Sending prayers from the Philippines. We embrace you all
Thank you sweet blessings to you
Nah keep em. They had every opportunity to leave. They literally chose to stay.
That would be my fear being in the water alligators and down power lines
Florida is becoming uninhabitable, five major hurricanes in 2 years. But some people brag about their beachfront properties.
Beach fronts are not affected it is single small houses and senior homes and small stores.
@@Beautifulworld-utuIt affects the lower middle and working class people because we can’t afford to be choosy about where we live.
@kyzrsosay and yet they build new homes and it's not really affordable :,^
Insurance companies will not insure homes , that makes a place uninhabitable for normal people
@@kyzrsosay We chose to live in low cost of living states , Florida is not one of those
Alligators in the dark.😮
Not everyone can leave or have the means. My heart goes out to them.
Hurricane Milton is similar to what we experienced during Typhoon Odette, which hit my hometown (Ubay Bohol) in the Philippines. That was the strongest typhoon I have ever experienced since birth. Stay safe, guys.
Please remember South Carolina!!!!
They are in an impossible and dire situation too!
227 is the death toll and counting. So many are still missing 😢.
you’re not kidding. It was absolute total carnage here. I live in Greer, South Carolina… Greenville county. Nobody here took it seriously. None of us expected what happened. Caught all of us offguard. So much destruction. The silver lining to it all? I have a whole new respect for Linemen. They are the true heroes. Coming from states all over to help put peoples lives back together. Never seen a large group of men work together so hard and so proud to make a difference in peoples lives.
What happened to the fking prayers for safety for those people. Looks like your Jesus failed them huh?
😢😢
North Carolina too, over half of the 227 victims across 6 States are from NC 😢 Wishing you all strength 🤍
@@BobB-k5e I believe the answer you're looking for is "God helps those who help themselves." So quit fooling around and assuming God will take care of things we should have taken care of our own selves. It's not like the science hasn't been right there in front of us for decades, but all we did was hide our heads in the sand and go to church on Sundays.
They shouldn't have to ask congress to come back they should be doing it with out asking.
Republican Speaker Mike Johnson refused to call them back for a Special session before they’re scheduled to return - after the election. Why? I heard (and it tracks based on previous such behaviour) it’s because Speaker Johnson thinks trump is going to win, and Trump wants the credit for swooping in to save everyone. So Trump probably insisted Johnson say no. Disgusting partisan behaviour by Johnson on behalf of trump.
Republican House Speaker Johnson didn't think it was necessary to call congress back early. Vote Blue.
Just recently before these storms the Congressional Republicans voted down additional funds for FEMA. I think the President has put more money into FEMA via Executive order a few days ago.
Never thought I'd feel bad for an alligator, but I do.
Poor thing was probably trying to get in the truck and get himself a ride out of downtown Florida and back to the cozy swamp he got washed out of!
Prayers for residents and volunteers. Stay safe.
Can you imagine watching your destroyed house on the national television. sad
That was something! 1:14
I was just thinking the same thing. 😢🎉
With NO insurance!!!
Did they not know that it was the biggest storm on the PLANET?????
So nobody is commenting about the dude on his "raft?" Like that's just a normal Wednesday in Florida?
Yup
Praying for all those that being affected by hurricane Milton 🙏🇯🇲
Jeez there’s aligators in the water and there letting kids walk through it.. sorry stupid!
We regularly have our share of strong typhoons in the Philippines but not typhoons with tornadoes. I cannot imagine the fear people must have felt. Prayers for everyone affected. ❤
Prayers and God bless Florida and North Carolina 🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️💯🇵🇭
Wow smart contractors they know hurricanes coming so they leave the crane up that's f****** stupid
I heard one newscaster say last night that it would take weeks if not months to disassemble those cranes and get them off of those high-rise roofs. Not enough time.
It's not Lego! 😂
Yep, takes many days to assemble and just as many to disassemble 🤷🏼♀️
It would seem there's no such thing as too far inland when it comes to Florida.
All states have their problems. Forest fires, floods, tornados, arctic freeze, etc , Or just plain dangerous from crime.
Florida is a flat island so no
Why would you put your kids thru this??! How irresponsible can you be to put children and animals thru that!! This storm is a horrific experience. They literally told all of them to leave. Why anyone would stay is insanity.
Some people can’t afford it.
How much money did you Venmo or Zelle her to evacuate them the other day?
@@levelupii4663 it doesn’t matter what I did and didn’t do! It’s not my responsibility to give them funds to drive up north, but I would help if I had some info. That’s why this in individualistic society does not work in situations like this people need to lean in community in order to help each other out in situations such as this. This is called insanity.
@@CL-hf2fb I agree with much of your response to my response. However, seeing that our sense of community has devolved so intensely that she was not able to proactively rely on her community for help, implying that a mother would intentionally traumatize herself and her children by not evacuating is victim blaming and comes off very entitled on your part. Perhaps show some compassion with your words and express your sadness that she was not in a position to evacuate her family. I love what you said that you would help if you could. That is quite kind. I agree - anyone who would intentionally stay when they have the means to leave is indeed insane. *IF* they had the means..
@@levelupii4663 honestly I wasn’t specifically talking about the person just in general. It’s not right.
Praying for strength for all the Rescuers 🙏🇯🇲
Condolences to the families whom lost loved ones during that hurricane prayers & thoughts going out to all in that area from New Zealand
The tornadoes is what is really
@charlenes5 - Hearty thanks to you for the good will - you Kiwis know what it's like to live at the mercy of Mother Nature!
I'm just curious about the people who got stuck in the storm. Were they out swimming in it and taking pictures at the piers? I was watching live, and so many were risking their lives standing there taking pictures. Some were stumbling around with drinks in their hands. We were stuck here, so why not go out and have some fun? It's crazy.
Human nature is what it is, lol.
We will rebuild.........in the exact same spot......where we know hurricanes will constantly destroy what we build.........costing us more and more money..................but we will rebuild!
I just turned all the lights on in my house
Do you really expect people to abandon their property permanently over a storm? The solution is to stop building flimsy cheap housing, not to surrender prime beachfront
This guy lives in Boise, Idaho (suggested) so has no real experience in life. What a joke of a disgruntled person in life.
@15:50 especially. Personally I’d move if my house was destroyed every 3 years… wild!
@@allisterforest1842stop expecting handouts and rescue if you choose to stay.
Being trapped in water, in Florida, and the power is out. Sounds like a real horror movie
Being in Florida anytime is a horror story.
There is no way to prepare for a tornado. 😢
You're killing us, Smalls! BUILD BACK BETTER. It's beautiful property, but you need a house that can stand up to a CAT 5, and it's possible to build them. Stop depending on the government and the insurance industry to pick up after you. Build a house that can not blow apart and is ready for water to wash right through and recede without destroying your world every time. IT'S ONLY GONNA GET WORSE.
You got to know how this stuff works they're only allowed to put so much money in their homes when they rebuild FEMA has a cap that they can only put $50,000 into a rebuild on their property in Florida or they have to bring everything up to recent code
Obviously come someone who hasn't lived there.
Why don't they try minion homes?
That’s not a bad idea. Composite water resistant materials for framing and walls, instead of wood and drywall.
The cinderblock homes with flatter roofs they built back in the 50’s do just fine in cat 3 even 4.
We’ll just have to adapt. We started with sticks and leaves. Good thing humans just didn’t give up with those materials when a strong wind came along.
Better yet, DON'T build back and let the area do what it's there to do without interference by fools. Why do you think the early settlers were able to get the land for so cheap from the Seminoles?
I don't understand how the governor can allow to built those cheap made wood houses
Developers have the Republican State legislatures in FL (& NC, SC, TX, GA, AL…) in their pockets. For years. Lax building codes allow contractors to build flimsy poor-quality homes, leaving the homeowners with all the risk and costs.
The governor has no power.. it is the land commision
After the surfside accident. They have become stricter with the condominiums.
He's heavily involved with the insurance companies that take the money and run.
I noticed a lot of US houses are made of woods. Why not with bricks?
Brick homes are too expensive for most people.
Money🤌$$$
Climate, safety, and material requirements for home and office construction are set by the state regulators.
If these places that we know are highly likely to be destroyed by storms would be labeled inhabitable and only open during off seasons for vacation purposes only we could avoid this. Children shouldn’t have to be subjected to these types of things simply because their parents want to live in places like this. This is insane.
The same disaster at the end of every summer. Maybe they need heavy storm barriers or a relocation grant, rather than "disaster relief."
The governor of Florida is sending help fast as he can he's got mentioned out all around Florida to help everybody neighbors helping neighbors
867, 237 homes were destroyed
Wow!😭😭😭😭 Congress must come back now!
do they have home insurance ?
500 cigarettes too
@@LOLONO666doesn't matter if they do. Insurance companies in Florida are a government backed scam. They'll either drop you, under value your property or deny your claim.
Did you count them all 😂
Imagine a hurricane hitting the Tampa Bay area with 160mph winds.
The ground was already drenched when Milton showed up. Florida can't take another hurricane this year. And Congress shouldn't have to take another minute of Marjorie Taylor Greene.
NO ONE should have to take another minute of MTG. I'm convinced people in her state sent her to Congress just to get her OUT of their beloved state for most of the year.
Praying from Philippines Stand up Florida GODBless to All rescuer be safe All
This is just a remainder that God could finish us whenever he pleased.
That stadium has a fabric roof? In a hurricane prone area?
and they are sooo shocked that the roof ripped completely off? i know insane right. I would assume it would be the first thing ripped off.
@@shelleyg1836yep
@@shelleyg1836 - Just a guess, but that's probably WHY they used a fabric roof...it would provide shelter from normal weather conditions, and would be easier and cheaper to replace after a major hurricane than hard construction would be for a building that size.
The need to stop wasting the I’v fluids on cosmetic procedures and save them for people who really need them to stay alive. BBL should be banned.
when people drive around in their cars during these conditions they might not realize they are bringing water back up into homes that are already flooded... please dont drive
Why are there only two companies producing I.V. fluid?
I must've missed that, but are you talking about the fluid or the bags that hold it? I heard a conversation that a company in NC that manufacturers them was destroyed in Helene.
Saline is sterile salt water. Blood is another issue and plasma is yet another.

Is it just me or does Bradenton Beach show signs of shoddy construction. That house that floated down the street and the one blown off it's stilts should not have happened in a low end Cat 3
Congress Needs to come back Now
Everybody please give your life to Jesus today don't wait for later become sometimes later becomes never so please begin reading the bible today and a great place to start is in Psalms of the bible read a chapter in Psalms everyday and after you finish reading Psalms read a chapter in Proverbs everyday and repeat the process with every part of the bible, also find a good church to go to, and most importantly don't forget to pray to God before you make any important life decision. Remember when you put God in your life decisions you will always have the best results.
Those homes are not built for disasters. There needs to be properly structured homes.
Praying for them and hoping others will learn the lesson to obey the orders to prevent this situation.
The president of a country should have the authority to TELL them to reconvene! Too bad they don’t get a taste of what it’s like to be those people…not having the simplest things in life we all take for granted.
For the people that can afford to move out of there. I couldn’t imagine having to have to rebuild my house over and over again. It isn’t a sustainable way to live. You got other states to choose from. I know not everyone can afford to but those that can should move. Your safety always should come first.
You know, Ashville NC has been towards the very top of the list of best places in the country to consider when planning for living through a changing global climate, and look what happened to them during/after Helene. You can't hide from what's happening. What we SHOULD have been doing as a nation is working on a comprehensive plan to improve our national infrastructure (both hard and soft - like rethinking agricultural planning and the like as well as rethinking how we build structures and roads), instead of working just as hard as possible to pretend that nothing is changing and nothing is going to change.
This brings everyone together 😊
Back into what? Most of those homes are wrecked.
Halley needs to stop saying
" No kidding" it's inappropriate and sounds so high school, seriously unprofessional 😒
People's lives have been totally destroyed, homes desimated and loved ones hurt and have died, and she keeps saying, " No kidding"😮that's NBC for you😒
Ignoring evacuation demands just to want to be rescued is crazy she’s irresponsible beyond belief I feel for all the kids here
I live in Tampa and we made it through it all alive and that what matters to me. In Hurricane Helene we lost both our cars, and in this one we have water up to the roof tops. I've always been the type of person when I get knocked down I get back up, dust myself off and continue forward. But with these two storms we didn't have any time to do that before Milton gut punched us. But we will get back up and will continue to move forward and rebuild. FEMA and the insurance companies haven't done anything for us. A lot of us know we're on our own in this. All we are right now is a political football and we are the ones who lost in that game.
I'm not trying to a jerk but I am genuinely curious. How can peopme constantly expect to be bailed out by someone else for constantly choosing to stay in an area prone and known for these things?
@@chattahuffman5117 - I imagine a large part of the problem is how can you relocate when the property you own can't be sold because it's uninsurable? I think the majority of people in the US can't afford to buy a new home if they can't sell the one they're still paying off.
I really can’t imagine & have no words except Lord Jesus Thank You that everyone in that 1 community evacuated & have their lives. 🙏🏾💙🙏🏾
Houses can be replaced ~ I’ll take life ❤️
Imagine having to come to grips with your house flooding out and blowing over every summer/fall season
When you get your first Insurance money you move
What is the correlation with these floods and new/growing sink-holes?
When the grounds get too saturated, they start collapsing under the surface, and sinkholes open. Happens here on a good day, so after days of downpours then major hurricane, there’s gonna be tons opening.
4:54 hahaha. the little boy…..
Prayers for the fools that had a way to leave but didn't and Prayers for the folks that couldn't leave
Exactly. Not unsympathetic but fir heaven's sake man
most of the house are made with wood ,they should start building a house made of concrete
