I really enjoyed watching this video of you showing us what you Brought Home from Gen Con. your have lots of fun painting them up though out the rest of this year.
I got a couple Tinker Turf kits at Gen Con as well. I was skeptical at first with how it would look on my table against all my plastic. I've been building it since I got home and it's awesome! I want more!!!
I'll be grabbing some of the new Khador from Warmachine MKIV. I'm kinda the same; if local people start trying it- great, if not, I'll be happy just painting them.
Gencon was fun this year. Hate I didn't see you. Even wore my "I want to Pa-chow" t-shirt one day! I bought this neat little skirmish game called Zynvaded. Very interesting premise as it is 1:1 scale in our real world. However, the Zynvaders are only 1 inch tall!!! You play it on any surface with 3 models per side. I suggest checking it out.
This is always the hardest part of GenCon for me - attendees sharing all the fabulous loot they were able to purchase while there. It's been many years since I was last able to attend and much of what's on display there doesn't make it down this way.
Was at GenCon also. My big thing was all the different new mechanics for RPGs, especially the plethora of card-based games. They're doing some really cool stuff in that space. My wife was once again intrigued by all the awesome terrain.
It was nice to meet you at Gencon! Besides the board games I was pretty impressed with the models for Mythic Americas which is a setting you don't often see. I also like that they don't have a "good/bad" side, you show up with your army and draw a scenario and a motive. Pretty cool.
I got an Infinity Siocast mini, it's pretty neat material. Main thing is to think of it as a replacement for resin, rather than plastic. It's pricy, detailed, but much better overall than resin. Archon is making great plastic mini's too, if you want a kickstarter of random things, their Dungeons and Lasers is in Late Pledge on Gamefound, some very unique things in it.
My good friend, Dan, who is the Director of Sales from Monster Fight Club messaged me that you were at the booth. Unfortunately, I was back in my hotel room at the time and missed the opportunity to meet you. I love the channel. Also, I cannot believe I missed that nice cardboard terrain, as I thought I did a thorough search - guess not. But I will certainly check them out. This was a another great video. Thanks again.
I also went searching for the SioCast booth, thanks to your mention on this channel, and they sent me home with that dwarf, two other minis, and three other fun bits! I’m excited to see where their company goes on their journey!
I was at Gen Con this year. The coolest thing I saw was Hero Quest. A past from the past when I was a kid. Also seeing that Avalon Hill was back producing it. On a side note they donated two mythic level Hero Quest boxes to the Charity Auction, which was rather cool. Not in the dealer hall, but the booth where they were demoing they had everything displayed from the Kickstarter and the expansion (ice themed). Beadles & Grimm had a great booth and Hackmaster was also great. I got to do a playtest for Kenzer Co to boot!! I’m glad you had a great time. It was nice being out and about this year. Food trucks was also pretty tasty. Cajun. Spicy. Lobster. Toasted Rolls. 🤘
I enjoyed the bass line with the latter part of the video. Also, this is a lot of really cool stuff you got at the Con. It was a pleasure to see you and Brent the last day. Great video as usual.
Had a blast being back at GenCon. Seemed a little slower this year on the vendor and people side but barely noticeable. I really didn't see any major innovative games this year but always fun to play test and have some games with friends. I'm amazed at how 3D printing is becoming viable for regular game companies now.
Had a blast at Gen Con. Had a chance to say hi to you at the Monument Hobbies booth. Being a MCP player, I loved the looks of the Monster Fight Club Metropolis sets. Definitely going to try and get some of that. Love the channel! Keep it up!
I think they are just trying to boost the company valuation a bit before trying to sell it tbh. It's all felt very rushed with problems on the prints, and even giving one of their customers at gencon a skin rash from improperly cured/cleaned resin.
@derp herp in fairness, that was disproven. The customer returned to their both and after examination they determined the cleaning step was insufficient such that there was cured resin dust on the model (so non toxic). As a result they indicated they changed their process to change out the IPA cleaning solution more frequently.
Gen Con 2022 was my convention, outside of a few local ones that had a couple hundred people. Im fairly new to the hobby and i got a lot of board games, table top games and a handful of RPGs too. Would have loved to see you but it is fine. I enjoyed my experience but I do know more now for next year to make it even better. Thank you for the great videos!
I was at gencon and did not see that chain link fence kit! wow I thought I saw everything. The tinkerturf was def awesome for people who don't have a lot of terrain or don't want to paint it. I had a blast of course. Soo much stuff .
Agree with your comments on finding things at Gencon. In fact you managed to find me and my friends in your clip of the floor at the beginning - we were strolling by in that clip.
Some fine lootin' there, the moaning about some of the Warmachine stuff is strange as like you say a bit of sanding and a lick of paint will fix it, but WMH players are even more adverse to painting that the 40k peeps
I went to my very first GenCon. It was great to see and speak to folk that I had heard about but not really had a chance to engage with, like Mantic games. Took part in their firefight demo, as well as some fantastic participation games organised by the Ottawa Redshirts
I really like the TinkerTurf stuff! Similar to Battle System Terrain but less timeexhausting to setup and teardown. And the Details on these BrokenAnvil Mini is amazing!
lol ... was thinking "Battlesystems" too when I saw that TinkerTurf bit. And I guess with TinkerTurf being American company the overall cost may be a bit better for folks that are across the ocean ? I would be interesting to see if they could be used on the same table without looking too weird.
i ordered a set of the tower rex stuff for some minor reasons: (mdf is easy, its a good base for extreme detailing, its free shipping from amazon) and one very very major reason.... its made in Ukraine!
I had a great time at GenCon this year. I was able to do a painting class and learned a good bit from that and also saw Vince Venturella right after he won most of the painting competition! ;) He was nice enough to take a picture with me. I would have loved to have seen you, too, but it's hard to recognize faces with masks on. And when you don't know who's there. And there are 50,000 people. Whatever. Great con. Would highly recommend.
Love the videos! I listen to them while painting and building models. I hope that warmachine does well: i have some trollbloods that could use some excercise. At Gencon I picked up a LOT of stuff at the Wyrd Games booth: i am a big fan of Malifaux (and tend to get excited whenever it is mentioned even in passing on the channel lol).
Amazing work as always! I sent an e-mail to Privateer Press on how I found out about the new Warmachine from your update. I am looking forward to buying some new boxes!

The new Warmachine business model seems really interesting it will fascinating to see how it pans out and what other miniature companies take away from it.
Yes, 3D printing at that scale will be interesting to see. One interesting thing is that they’re planning to work with partners overseas to print the models as well - therefore they won’t have to print in Seattle and then ship to Europe, for example. That makes a lot of sense in today’s global climate. Thanks for watching!
@@tabletopminions Think that's something those that have been critical of the change may have missed, though that would also require the printed materials to be sourced as well.

I was at GENCON, I saw you but I was in a shuttle bus and you were standing on a street corner. The new Battletech Alpha Strike boxed set looked really nice but they sold out before I found out about it
Your gencon was similar to mine and my son's. We had a blast checking out MKIV and of course my son loves Riot Quest. Never did find the SioCast booth though!
I was at Gencon. Grabbed a Bushido Starter. I went all in on Mythic Americas Tribal Nations faction. And I got some TT Combat terrain for Necromunda. It was a fun con.
Miniatures from Warmachine are definitely very cool. I really wanted to paint them for fun but the price was prohibitive. I hope they can reduce it a little bit by stock optimization with 3d printing.
We've been using Tinker Turf alongside the similar thick cardboard terrain that comes in Infinity starter boxes for our Infinity games. They are very similar and work really well together.
I wouldn't glue the tower together. Even if you're not going to use the interior for play you can put those little led tea lights inside the tower for easy lighting effects.
I had a great time back at Gen Con this year. I also ended up at Privateer Press, took advantage of their unadvertised Buy One Get One starter sets for Warcaster.
plugging momentum hobbies with the t-shirt right there. im kind of glad that PP is moving away to 3D prints. i like a lot of the minis (as a painter any way) from their hordes game line and im not a fan of the combo of white metal and resin for some of their minis. i really dig their archons and both of the infernal and legion of everblight ranges.
ditto here......gotta do it to introduce others to it and have opponents and FLGS is going to be one of the shipping hubs so....AWESOME! J and J Cards and collectables.
A lot of people asking what are the red mech and other minis in the thumbnail and shown with the tinker turf. After combing the comments and replies I found one reply where he says the mech is from an Etsy shop, but he can't remember the name of it. My guess is that it's a heavy or assault mech from Battletech.
I was excited to go to the bits booth in GenCon. Had a blast finding some old metal Adepta Soritas models. The tinker turf booth was pretty cool, First think I did ask was if the train car could move on the rails! Spoiler * It can be moved but doesn't roll over the tracks*
I'm a few days late to this video but as soon as I saw the tinker turf terrain I had to get some. Alot of the stuff on thier website is sold out but I picked up some walls and mag train rails. AND it was at a discount because of Gencon.
Is the Hordes side of Warmachine going to get the same treatment? It always looked interesting to me, but it's been next to impossible to find in shops around here. I'm guessing those printed figures are much easier to distribute across the ocean.
Somehow I missed most of these on my wander through the vendor hall. But then, I didn't get a real chance to go over the map in the hotel like I usually do. I just wasn't prepared this year, didn't have my shoes broken in and had gotten a little sedentary in the past year, so my feat were killing me this year, which probably played a part in that as well. Hopefully I'll be back to full con readiness next year.
What was the red robot/walker early in the video? I'm excited about the chain link fence, and the new higher-tech Warmachine does look pretty cool. I use a decent amount of Warmahordes for my homebrew 40k setting - it's a big galaxy, lots of room for variations and weirdness. I was at GenCon, but most of what I saw was the register at GW! Best thing for me: I managed to get a lot of Forgeworld stuff for my friends, and some great deals on Kill Team boxes. Also, Cubicle 7 had a deal on all of the Wrath & Glory RPG books. Best thing overall: walking by the groups of kids playing various games and having a *great* time. Their laughter made my day.
I've backed both Tinkerturf Kickstarters- high quality stuff; good colors, easy to build, stores without too much room. I'm hopeful that the fantasy set is awesome. I can forgive the flat look for sci-fi because, well it's sci-fi and sleeker, I'm wondering if I'll feel the fantasy is a bit 'flat' when they show it off though.
My usual attitude toward cons of all kinds has typically been that they're not worth the time and money to attend. Maybe I need to reconsider that. Looks like there was lots of fun to be had. Thanks for sharing!
At the hight of Warmachine's popularity, it was a niche inside of a niche...From what I hear, PP's new direction pissed a lot of people off (suddenly dropping support for the entire previous model range tends to do that).
Hey, been watching your channel a little while now. My friend and I are usually awake at 3am EST when your new episodes drop, (I work nights) and we chat on the face books about it. It is a very informative and chill channel t watch. I don't even play many of the games you introduce us all to, but it's cool to hear about them anyway, and see your take on them. I DO have RiH, but I haven't had a chance to put together a force yet (life be crazy.) Anyway, great video as always.
I didn't get to go this year even though I'm a Hoosier and live close. I did get a chance to treat my friends from the Gallant Goblin channel to dinner. I'd have offered the same if I knew you were attending
I really enjoyed watching this video of you showing us what you Brought Home from Gen Con. your have lots of fun painting them up though out the rest of this year.

Was that an S.O.S. at the end? You ok there Uncle Atom? Keeping an eye out for the next Snarling Badger release!
I like liking the likes.... :D Thanks for posting some interesting items for those of us who could not make it this year!
I did Gen-Con once after it moved from Milwaukee. I have never been back.
So BAM is using SioCast and PP is using 3D printers and both are producing minis for the Masses. Interesting
Gave up on GenCon in 2010, very happy with that call. mid sized conventions are more fun.
They had a really good reason for it, and they're not totally dropping support anyway.
I’m glad you enjoy the videos, and thanks for buying Reign in Hell. Our next game is dropping soon. Thanks for watching!
Haven't been to Gencon since it was in MECCA.
That terrain looks really good for cardboard
It does! Technically, I believe it’s multi-ply chipboard, but most folks like you and me call it cardboard. Thanks for watching!
I didn't get to go this year even though I'm a Hoosier and live close. I did get a chance to treat my friends from the Gallant Goblin channel to dinner. I'd have offered the same if I knew you were attending
And i realy hoped the tower was a diestower, to bad. We realy need something like that!
