I like the idea that Satan just has this basement full of godlike artifacts and even he doesn’t know what any of them do.

I love how the opening video portrays Arle. The Puyo Puyo series are not exactly consistent about Arle's personality and out of the different ones portrayed trough the series, I prefer this one.
+Crystalgate I feel like Arle did not change that much, look at Dark Prince. In the older games he was simply in love with Arle, but in the modern games, Arle is a literal obsession to him.

I mean, the man actually thinks Arle would find him pulling a Tuxedo Mask to be cool. And that she DIDN'T know his identity.
Not to mention the fact that he caused the events of Puyo Puyo Sun solely to see Arle in a swimsuit.

Some ppl don't really like Sega's art for those newer games though XD
That's a shame. I honestly think that the artstyle of the modern Puyo Puyo games is really unique compared to many other games out there.

Not gonna lie, i prefer the new Puyo Puyo games by a long shot, but i think it would be SUPER creative if they would've kept doing these anime intros. Especially with the Primp and Suzuran characters. Would be quite interesting, i think.

I hate all the new puyo puyo games. The art style and the characters design are ugly in the newer games. I only like compile era puyo puyo games.

Puyo Puyo is the kind of series that by all accounts should have absolutely made gangbusters with an anime. An old fashioned comedy/action kind of anime like Dr. Slump or Classic Dragonball would be the perfect place to expand on all the characters. Hell, if they did it now, they could even bring back some of the Compile era characters like Minatoros, Skeleton-T and Doppleganger Arle.

I much prefer this art style to the one that Sega started using.
The fact that the Dark Prince ACTUALLY HAS Pandora’s Box in his basement and he unknowingly released Doppelganger Arle, a threat that can bend dimensions and minds to her will, from it is actually hilarious.
Why is carbuncle so small
He's that small
It's a Compile-era game, so that's just how big he was.
They made him bigger in the Sega-era games.
Arle is probably a teen in this game but Sega decided to regress her which is probably why Carby is small here.
It's great, I love it. But I feel that at least the characters had could yell some "Ah!", "Ha, ha, ha", "Wow!", "Oh!".
COMPILE did animated media of that spinoff franchise the most. Especially their game promos.
Was hoping for SEGA to do the same thing, cuz the PuyoQue promo wasn't enough.

Clearly you've never played the modern Puyo games...
I mean Arle is still the adorable tomboy we all love, Shezo is still as pervy as ever, Drago remains the same girl who loves beauty contests and enjoys competition, and the new characters are very interesting. Only Fever feels different since Sonic Team wanted to do something different with the series.
Also the story in the modern Puyo games does NOT involve the player to save the world (except Tetris and maybe Chronicle).
After playing against Carbuncle in puyo puyo Champions I can't look at him the same way (I'm not that good at puyo and that being is fast af)

Satan is under the impression that Arle is the reincarnation of his fiance from a previous life.He believes that with enough love, Arle will eventually awaken to that identity and they can become lovers again.

@@cyandeoidre2375 Late response, but it all comes down to Carbuncle. Carbuncle was actually Satan's pet first, but he took an instant liking to Arle. Satan sees that as proof enough that Arle was his fiance.
