This was incredible. Its interesting to see how some of the best dads would look like as caring mothers. Gru's looks like she's a top fashion designer that seems to have a rough exterior, but has a heart of gold on the inside. Triton looks like an outstanding warrior queen that still looks young, but has a sense of maturity and responsibility that would give wise advise to her daughters and would love to spend time would them. Vader's was by far the one that surprised me the most; I was not expect him to fit the caring mother role, but it surprisingly works well...plus the fact that she's carrying a tray of Death Star cookies shows that while she's still terrifying if someone's messing with their children, she still has that soft side that shows that she cares for them. Great job as always Mei and I can’t wait to see what you draw next.
I love how you drew Gru, King Triton and Darth Vader as moms! They’re all beautiful and caring moms! They’re colors are cool and neat, too! I would love all of them as my mom. Their names would be Gruella or Madame Gru, Queen Tritonia and Darthellina Vedrana.
Gru's hair is spot on because if you see clips of young Gru he has very brown silky hair. And anyone who draws can agree with me is getting the hair right is a pain in the tail. And May Yu get the hair right every single time. And Mom Vader let's just say David Prowse(the original Darth Vader) would have loved it.
I love how you converted Gru's top-heavy design and kept the wide shoulders. And it's a great idea to add armor-like shell bra for Triton coz he always had a kind of warrior king vibe. And Darth Vader as Darth Moeder really gives that kind mom who's secretly really dangerous.
“Join the Dark Side! We have cookies!” How many black markers did you go through coloring Gru & Darth Vader? 🤣 Anakin would’ve been an interesting challenge, as well. Maybe do Padme for Father’s Day?

The first one made me think of his mother as a young woman. The second one I’m going to say is Ariel‘s grandmother lol. I would love to learn how to blend colors I only paint but it would still be nice
For painting I would reccomend building up both colors to opacity (if it's acrylic). Then put thin layers of paint and just push them together. It takes practice to get it smooth.

They all look so beautiful. I'm trying to get into coloring and learn with color pencils, but I would love to learn how to color and blend with makers. You make it look so easy, but I'm afraid that I would ruin a picture if it get too wet and pierced through the paper.
marker paper is meant for that not to happen! i recommend starting out with ohuhu markers. they're much cheaper than copics, but work the same. there are less colors to choose from, but they update their marker colors every so often.

I think Darth Vader would be Darth Mater, because Mater is the feminine equivalent of Vader.
