Susan Smith I am glad you enjoyed my video and it brought back happy memories; they are still excellent musicians. What instrument did you play.

I wasn't a bandsman,I was just in the Regiment,It was always a moral booster when the band turned up to perform.....wherever we were in the world. Thanks again Nomsky

The big, red gargantua leading the charge down the road is absolutely fantastic. Could watch him all day. And the band is super. Plus the guards always look great.

I was interested to see the LG Right Marker carrying his trombone like a Marine, i.e. parallel with the ground. Is there a reason for this?

Guy up front looks like a Blue Meanie from the Yellow Submarine... or they look like him. I love the little conducty thing he does at 1:47. He does it again on the way back.

Certainly is interesting hearing and seeing the Household Cavalry Band play HM Jollies. The sight does not match up with the march haha

As an ex member of The HM Royal Marines I don't see why they can play HM jollies as it is purely a RM march

Audrey Poulter I sort of agree with you and H.M Jollies is a great R.M march, however I have heard the Royal Marines Band play The Voice Of The Guns which is a Artillery march, which was very good. :-)

Audrey Poulter An interesting point as "HM Jollies" and "Voice of the Drums" were both written by F.J.Ricketts, aka Kenneth Alford. "Voice.." was written when he was Bandmaster in the 2nd Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders in 1917, and HM Jollies when he was a Lieutenant at the RM Depot in Deal in 1929

spentacle Thank you for this great piece of info.
Did you know that he also composed, The thin Red Line, Colonel Bogey and On The Quarter Deck!
K J Alford has composed so many great marches.
