    Do the drum majors drill the corps of drums whenever they are the ones on parade?

  • @martytrain
    @martytrain 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like the Grenadiers COD,s have gone back to using their original Premier 67 side drums.

    • @Jackwylde68
      @Jackwylde68 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Martin H They are using pearl viscount sides here, same as the marines.

    • @martytrain
      @martytrain 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jack, those drums certainly look more retro than the new 97 Premiers, are the hoops wooden or nylon?

    • @Jackwylde68
      @Jackwylde68 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Martin H Wooden.

    Why couldn't the 'fat copper' be another 100 meters in front of this well drilled squad?

    How do the Drume hold the drums on the Legs they don't have Leg Rest`s?

    • @johnmilliken5204
      @johnmilliken5204 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shoulder belt helps keep the drum at the right height and angle - leg rests aren't really necessary just helpful.

    @Coupydog - that "Security Guy" is a British Police Officer (Thames Valley Constabulary) - he looks scruffy because his Governments buys him .... shabby uniforms and insists he wears a High Viz like a Car Park Attendant! At least he's polished his boots. You have no idea how shabby they feel next to this shiny, highly polished lot.

    Just wish the Police guy would stay out of the way, if you need to be in front at least smarten up a bit.

    what is with the big hats

    • @Excelsor92
      @Excelsor92 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Ffion Jenkins The tradition with the bear skin hats was started by the French. In the Napoleonic Wars the French Old Guard wore them. The Grenadiers seem to be taller and the heads arent attacked so easily by cavalry. After the win over France the British Guards got them as their sign for the win!
      Thats the story I know why they are wearing them. If anyone knows it better please correct me
