    Sequence. First check outlet for power. Second, check breakers for tripped one. Third, reset any gfci's in the house as one may be feeding regular outlets and they aren't labeled as they should be. After that then you check nearby outlets to locate any other's that aren't working. You never start at the end of a circuit, you start in the middle. Meaning you need to locate the last hot plug before power is lost. Then you know the issue is in the dead receptacle or in the last hot one. Now you're ready to find the problem.

      This advice is TOP TIER! As soon as I read this I went to the outlet next to the one that still wasn’t working after replacing it. The problem was with the outlet next to the one that was not working. Tightened a loose screw and the other outlet worked fine. Thanks!

    I found my exterior Gfci wasn't working, I replaced for weather Proof Gfci, and It worked a little bit, not it's doing again, not power on that circuit, leaving my ac outlet with not power, and circuit braker not tripped

    • @remoteelectrician
      @remoteelectrician  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      make sure it's not protected by another gfci that is installed inside. look behind that same wall and look for another gfci. test wires with voltmeter and see what voltage you have, also make sure it's not switched outlet.

      @@remoteelectrician thank you for your answer. I removed all the outlets to check any of then burned out, but all of them were OK. on that circuit there's only that GFCI, I have a feeling there's something wrong with circuit braker in the panel, I think it's time to get licensed electrician. 😔 I'm very frustrated.

    I have all my outlets and switches in my master room went out except a single light , all of them connected to the same breaker. So the breaker is good. I couldn’t understand how a single light switch works if they all connected together as a daisy chain?

    • @remoteelectrician
      @remoteelectrician  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes that happens, you need to turn off breaker and check wiring of outlets by pulling out each until you discover burned outlet wire that got loose

      @@remoteelectrician do i need to check the working light switch? Is it common to have light switches to be part of the chain ? I’d assume my light switch works because it gets the electricity parallel somehow from the source and not impacted by the broken outlet itself.

    My emotional support human plugged his iron into an outlet in the kitchen. The lights stopped working and also two outlets. I went through these steps, no breaker tripped, i took out the outlets and there is like a shit load of plaster all over them. I feel dumb, the wires are connected and I am not seeing anything with the wires themselves except for the ungodly amount of plaster. Should i throw in the towel and have someone come out?
