I’ve never heard of that episode before. My best guess as to how it could’ve been made into an episode would be like if I was to adapt a storybook into a cartoon. One example being Bugs Bunny in StoryLand. The plot is about Bugs Bunny helping other fairy tale characters and the climax being that Bugs saves Little Red Rodong Hood from a nasty wolf. And how does he defeat the wolf? With firecrackers.

Meanwhile there were no episodes of the series running. One day he was found but I don't know where and why he was lost but everything was normal after.
Nickelodeon should animate this into an actual episode (or at least someone makes a fan animation), it would be like an awesome call back to the earlier days of the show and it would be brand new to younger audiences…
Hearing about an audio episode of Spongebob reminds of a couple audio book adaptations of Spongebob episodes I heard as a kid. The audio books I remember were adaptations of Tea at the Treedome and Naughty Nautical Neighbors. They were mostly the same, but in Teat at the Treedome Spongebob went to Squidward's house to ask for help but Squidward refused, and Patrick got some flowers from Squidward's garden for Spongebob to give to Sandy.
The Encyclopedia SpongeBobia should add the lost footage to its wiki, that way it would make sense. If there was footage instead of just the audio, fans would be pleased to see that along with the storyboard.
I may be thinking of something else, but if this came out on CD, I'm fairly certain that I had it in my mom's car as a kid. It could be a completely different Spongebob CD that I'm thinking of, but I remember it was comprised of mostly songs. I'm not sure if Little Floaters had Pearl in it, but the only song I vaguely remember was sung by her.
Imagine a collective of artists/animators on TH-cam storyboarding and animating this. Projects reanimating cartoon episodes have already proven animators’ skills, so I think this would not only be well within their scope, but also bring immense attention to the forgotten radio episode.
i pretty vividly remember watching some of the last episodes of season 3 spongebob when they aired, along with the first spongebob movie. granted, i was 5/6 in 2004, so my memory isn't gonna be perfect, but the airdate lines up with what i remember most. it's so wild to hear there's spongebob media from that time that i didn't know existed (or remembered). the audio for "Little Floater's Wild Weekend" is in the sidebar for this video, if anyone wants to give a listen. it's wild honestly. reminds me of "Bubble Buddy" and "The Sponge Who Could Fly."
It's like the polar opposite of the reef blowers episode that had no dialogue, this has a calming feel to it. Now we have an episode where you're mind creates the episode itself letting the viewer choose what would happen on screen.
We should get a fan project moving to animate this, or at least like a storyboard, or even a comic so that there's some kind of visuals to go along with it
