Good Game but when you placed your last city to win it would have been more efficient to place it on the bottom settlement. Less mouse movement. Come on Dylan step it up.
Maybe if he wouldn't be so smug about things he wouldn't catch the extra flak. He was very lucky this game, with rolls and trades as well as other players focussing on others instead of him.
Hopefully we evolve as players from these moments to ones that don't rely on a single roll to seal games. If you're focused on the roll as the determining factor and not your skill, then you're literally saying when you're in a winning position you lose 14% of the time. A stronger player wants the chance of losing a winning position to be
@@Funglutton I think black screwed up by going for army/devs... He was only on 3 ore and there was no chance he'd hold army over red. He was only going to have that one moment to win the game, by having a super weak army and super weak road... but it didn't happen for him, and that was pretty much GG for him once he lost the army.
Yeah Black complained about this lucky 7, but in the early game the 6 Wheat was blocked and then, immediately after, a 7 rolled to unblock it. Not to mention that Black was getting a ton of Wood (4) and Wheat (11), balancing out their strong Brick (9) and, in the case of Wheat, giving them a very tradable resource. It's very narrow-minded for them to only complain about the bad luck and not see it in balance.
I'm definitely a fan of you talking in a bit slower pace than you used to. Haven't watched in a few weeks but it's a lot easier to follow now, since English is my second language. And more chill to just watch. Keep up the good work.
I had a game the other day where I had 2 monos and my opponents were super efficient with their resource usage, I ended up winning by blocking their expansion/ cities with using the monos but I waited until the very end to use them
Shocked blue didn't point left on the second settle, its a 4 way race to the 4/5/11 and whoever gets it probably takes and keeps road long term. Such a key spot on this board.
Hey there, blue here, I definitely thought about it but I foresaw a scenario where black could go 4 5 11 and aim up to secure a starting road, essentially guaranteeing themselves either the 6 3 11 or the 6 3, depending on where Dy placed.
Is this video mis-titled? I did not catch where proper mono strat was discussed, beyond just basically thinking through what's out there and how it helps oneself. When is the discussion about how others/everyone misplay(s) the mono card?
The aRandomGuy became too famous, so he had to change his name to 123qasdqw. Learn the pattern people! Identifying Dylighted behind his spy/ninja usernames when you play against him, is the key to victory!
There were 3 turns in the early game where you couldve monod ore for city + Dev. In this gives you so much tempo, that its definitely better, hoping for a bigger mono after getting outpaced for army etc especially with the bad mono position cant be the play ever. All of them were better monos than the mono you actually played, you just gave tempo away to get the same stuff later for no reason.
I agree... holding out for a big ore mono is a bit greedy and very unlikely to ever happen, due to everyone simply spending the ore before it gets to your turn. Mono becomes really difficult to benefit the most from really late in the game when people have ports that they can utilize to reduce their hands. City + dev is a super good mono play... the earlier the better.
Black could have locked army instead of getting the settle. Or used his superior roads (4 rolled a ton) and roadbuilding to get the 11-5-4 and take road. There was a window for Black to win and it wasn't dependant on that 7.
which were the lucky rolls? 6 rolled only 2 times more than 8, which you can't call luck, and 4 was the most overperforming number which dylan wasnt on 11 also rolled a decent amount, and dylan wasnt on it.
@@miriushaefliger5412when the rolls come is more important than the sheer number of rolls tho, and black rolling 7 is def v lucky. Dylan should’ve used mono earlied
Black is deluded at @18:57 with thinking that only a 7 will not win on their turn. they needed to build two roads to take longest rd ofcourse. But 2,3,5,7,8,10,12 also doesnt get them it, as they wont have enough to port 3:1. they literally needed a 4, 6, 9 or 11. there is greater odds that they dont get their roll than they do... yet they go off in the chat about a 7, all the while stealing Dylans brick . Players like this irratate me and give me the ick majorly. I guarantee they are Italian with the name "Blanchetto"

Dylan analyzing the board while black was having a mental breakdown was too funny 😂

No
Thanks
I wish the Catan community would come together and stop spoiling games.
Lame
Can we recognize that we have all been in black’s spot there where we are one roll away and a just get crushed.

Bros waffling about back door outs as if he's about to hit a runner runner straight flush
Bad beat jackpot
Lmao 1:30AM Catan here we goooo

So grateful for the content Dylan, your vids always put me in a better mood
Dylan says “fascinating” now instead of “interesting” 😮
That's fantresting
Truly internating

How to win in Catan: Pop, pop, pop, dirty, mono, pop, pop, pop, pop, victory. No stinkin roads we need!
When is the Monopoly play and discussion?
The monopoly strat is so simple yet so dirty. Trade the cards you plan to monopoly, just to steal them back.
Are you going to so These Type of Videos next season too? I really Like this Type of Video!
Your New Videos are so interesting and fascinating recently
I was surprised that black got so close to winning with that setup and that dark blue did not win.
10:45 isn't expansion to 11 5 4 better? getting a change for road as well
lots of chances to get plowed
Say your in a situation where u have to go no wheat or no ore what do you do
Why I'm not able to find your account on colonist?
Is there a higher likelihood of VP online than in the actual board game?

Love the constant Catan-tent
I actually feel quite bad for black. All he had to do was dodge a 7 and he had the win, I've been there and that 7 rolling is devastating!

Nicely done!
Well played!
Flux is a great program! I thought the popup was from me for a solid minute haha
Fascinating
Hello :D
Your setup was par at best...only lucky rolls won you that one. It was insane to watch you get exactly what you needed every roll.

they actually needed *3 roads LOL to get to 7, and their hand was 2 wheat, 2 sheep and either a brick/wood. they werent even close!!

That way you can ‘watch’ all of Dylan’s Catan videos in one day

hopefully you get to rank 1 and dont embarrass yourself in front of all of us, like you did last season.
Who is us???
Hopefully the lack of likes will condition you to not be an ass for no reason in the future.
