Yea if you don’t fall asleep watching the video,I know he gotta explain stuff but he just ain’t got the “vocal attention span” needed to explain videos
Thank you very much for teaching what the buttons do very helpful this is the only video I have seen where you teach us about the remote and cooler instead of the actual training thank you
Yes, this is a great collar for your average pet owner. It's not too high intensity and has a lot of intentionally humane options (low and med. Receiver settings and 3 intensities for for the stim.). My favorite brands are SportDog and TriTronics (now Garmin). Great vid. From another advanced eCollar user. Also, forgot to mention that I prefer the dial to screens and rheostats. Dials are easy to use without looking at the remote.
Best advice treat every recall as a important recall , my buddy had a dog drown from trying to get a diver duck they wasn’t fully dead and he could get his dog to recall
Great tutorial. When uou are conditioning do you use a continuous stim at low level? Do you have a practical coaching course for conditioning the collar? Thanks!
Love the video. Just purchased the 425X today. Was wondering at the 16 minute mark the video shows your collar. What are you using to tighten the collar ? Where can i find it.
Okay I like this guy everything is explained in detail very thoroughly even people like me can understand LOL. Will have to see if there are more videos
@@dogtrainingismypassion In my opinion, it was not too long and I don't think you could have made it simpler for some of us dummies out there. I'll be subscribing.
I have been trying to follow your instructions on changing the outputs as you called them(called stimulation ranges-p.9 in the guide) on the dog collar receiver as you described starting around 2:20. I haven't been able to find any other videos on this function. You didn't rush through your tutorial. It was very helpful so thankyou for your video. I was able to follow and try successfully however, my model is the 425x wetland hunter(camo), and the only range beeping choices that I have are 2 and 3, I cannot seem to get 1 beep at all no matter how many times I've tried. In your video you mentioned that if it beeps 3 times I have an S model, which on the box it does not indicate an S model, only 425x. On page 10 of the operating guide, we changed the transmitter to mode 2 so that we could get vibrate only. By changing the mode to 2 did that affect the stimulation range, is that why I can't get a range of 1? I do not want to start off using the collar on my 4 month old puppy on a stimulation range of 2. Any suggestions or another video would be greatly appreciated. I can't believe the Sportdog brand co. has not created in great detail a video of all the different modes/ranges on this unit...unless I just haven't found it yet. Most are very short videos, very general, not really a tutorial, and most state to look in the guide...some of us are visual learners....LOL.......disappointing.
I'm just now seeing this so you may have found your answer already. Your specific model comes with a medium/high range but no low. www.sportdog.com/e-collars/wetlandhunter-425x
Does this have a beep for notifying? I like the beep because I find my dog listens to that, but I also like the knowledge that it's not dead and I can hear that he can hear it.
Thank you for your support. Here’s a condensed version. But to answer your question, no, you can’t precede the stim with a vibration except manually. th-cam.com/video/f9Rqk3jGwDQ/w-d-xo.html
SportDog also makes nice bark collars. I assume that’s what you’re referring to. Please watch this video first! th-cam.com/video/8tCq0WcSo8s/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qRyibdjkJ9toQEsA
How durable are these collars? I like the design but I heard they are made in China? I'm debating between this and Dogtra, I heard Dogtra is made in Korea. But Dogtra has like 100 different levels which might be tough to pick from in an urgent situation. Excellent video btw.
Thank you so much for this instructional video I have a very stubborn Great Pyrenees. A trainer recommended that I get the 425 XS. when I try to set it on the lowest level like you did it would not go to 1 beep it would only do 2 beeps or 3 beeps. Is this the way this one functions?
I just bought this model, but opted to get a second collar. We can’t get them both programmed, when we beep both collars go off. Can someone help me out to

Thanks ! 1. when should i use the vibrate option and does it equal to level1-1 (pressing on min in level1) 2. Does level 1-3 is still lower than 2-1 ? So basically it is really a scale of 21 stages ?
The vibrate option is a completely different sensation and for some dogs it can be more aversive. For your second question it’s very close to a linear progression yes. Best way to find out for yourself is to either try it on you or go by feel on your dog. Best of luck.
Sir have a question, my dog had learned what the collar is a d fights me to put it on. She's a German shepard. Throws herself to the ground and uses paws to oush away. Any advice would be appreciated 🙏🏼
Yes! Correct! But that’s more of a programming setting. Meaning, you don’t have them readily available unless you reprogram the unit. But you’re absolutely correct, 42 levels total.
Finally someone who explains the functionality of this thing so everybody can understand. Thank you brother!
Thank you for your support!
agreed!

@jasonanthonymilone4512 I love that 😂😂 Thanks for the feedback!
Disregard any negative comments. Asshats!

Excellent demonstration, especially since the manual was both vague and confusing. Thank you!

Bummer!
This is my 2nd Sportdog (the last one lasted 5+yrs). I never fully realized all the levels completely! Ty for your help!
I just thought I had up to 7!
It depends on which one you have. Not all SportDogs have all those features.
Thanks for making it simple!

It’s a bungee strap. I get mine from TopNotchk9 Equipment. Amazon has some as well.

I’m not fully familiar with that model. Sorry. I wish I could be of more help.
@@dogtrainingismypassion Thank you for the response but it is the same model number as your video described only in camo.
If it only gives you the two and three beeps, it typically means it only has the higher stim outputs. That’s all I know.

Thanks a bunch dude just got this collar and the instructions weren't as clear as this video

You never mentioned vibrate or the tone?
True, I neglected to mention that

Yes it comes with a beep function as well as vibrate.
Thanks Great Lesson
Thank you
Great video man, thank you for taking the time to do this.
Do you know if there is a way to preface the shock with a vibration?

I’ve had some sportdogs last 10 years! They’re very stout. I have used Dogtras and Ecollar technologies and I am personally not a fan of 100 levels.
@@dogtrainingismypassion thanks, I'm going with the sportdog 425xs, just in case the medium level is hard enough. Thanks for this video!!!

When you set it up to 3 or 4 or even the highest level, are you still pressing the ‘low’ intensity button?
You can, that’s entirely up to your discretion and the situation at hand.

Does this also serve as a bark collar or is it only by pressing button
This unit works by pressing the button only.

@dogtrainingismypassion what does the collar do when your dog is out of device range?
Nothing.
how the heck do i use vibe/tone
“V/T” below level 1
You dont like Dogtra?
Nah
I understand the 21 levels, thank you. But aren’t there 42 levels because there are also 2 levels on the collar itself?
Yes! Correct! But that’s more of a programming setting. Meaning, you don’t have them readily available unless you reprogram the unit. But you’re absolutely correct, 42 levels total.
U talk to much about ur training and not enough about the collar
